      Squid WithGear not true. My bike is tuned for the the exhaust i have and the A/F ratio is perfect. But the poping on the bike has nothing to do with too much or too little fuel. The AIS system causes the pops.

    late to the party here but I just did this today and this video was a good reference. The hardest part was taking those dumb little push clips out of the side 'air intakes' for me. which I thought was hilarious that the video sort of glazed over. I gotta find a tool for those stupid things.
    Anyway just wanted to put a 'thank you' other there. Helpful professional video.

    FYI when taking the tank off, take the 10mm hex screws out instead of the Allen screws. Then the tank won't drop down and scratch the shit out of the frame. 9:18 I've seen the damage done on a few FZ09s from those brackets coming into contact with the frame.

      @mprziv 8 років тому +2

      Thanks for this tip. I plugged the AIS system today, and it was much easier to avoid any frame scratching by removing the 10mm hex bolts from each side.
      Anyone else watching this video, do not remove the allen bolts from the sides of the tank...remove the 2 10mm hex bolts from either side instead.

  • @michaelnelson3469
    @michaelnelson3469 8 років тому +2

    Thanks for doing this. One suggestion I would make is that as soon as you take the airbox off, stuff *clean* paper towels or shop rags into the throttle bodies to keep anything from falling into them. I prefer red rags, so you have three red flags reminding you to remove them on reassembly.

    I just purchased the block off plates. I have a 2015 model and put on a full termi exhaust with BMC race filter. I liked the popping at the start but then it becomes to much for my taste, when i have a passenger on the back the popping gets even worse on deceleration. After this i will get the ECU flashed.

    Hi. after such a refinement, the pops in the direct-flow muffler decreased, but, with a sharp (full) opening of the gas, the motorcycle accelerates poorly. could it be due to lack of air? or, what other thoughts do you have?

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      This should not have any impact on the performance or acceleration of the bike. If there is an issue it would not be a result of installing these block off plates. - Van
