    Yo Van man, your employee Brandon is awesome. Helped me a lot the order day with an order mistake. Very professional guy and he deserves a raise!

    At a bicycle shop I worked at we used the hairspray trick all the time. It helps slide it on and stick once dry. One issue is that hairspray is water soluble. If you get water under your grip it can go gooey again which would not be good.

    I'll admit it's a long time since I put grips on a bike but back in the day when I used to ride dirt bikes I liked to use CRC brakeclean as it evaporates completely and doesn't leave any slippery residue. Upside to this is if you screw up putting a grip on you can just remove them using your compressed air method and redo it, downside is they won't be "glued" in place but I never ran into any issues myself and I never bothered to wire my grips on.

    Its funny you mentioned the wd40, i used it for putting grips on my quad as a last resort and i couldnt believe it worked. Looking back i have no idea why i even tried it. Surprisingly worked and grips never moved after a day of sitting, even when i really tried to adjust! I had a good laugh when u mentioned the ol wd

    Hey just a heads up, this video is incorrectly listed as a tutorial under the “Driven Kawasaki Ninja 400 18-21 520 Aluminum Rear Sprocket” item on your website!! (Just noticed while scrolling through stuff for a bike that I don’t have yet lol, you guys rock!)

    I can Vouch for the WD-40 Method. Have always used it on my race bike, BMX bikes, Mnt bikes, everything. It slips on super easy and has a weird effect on the rubber that makes it somewhat tacky after drying overnight and have never had a grip move on me.

      Do you spray on the bar or inside the grip? Dumb question I know but I'm not a handy man lol.

    Your videos are very informative and done very well. So thank you for that. Maybe you can answer a question for me as I can't seem to get a definitive answer anywhere else. Is it true that in 2017 Yamaha changed the seat on the FZ09 so it doesn't slide you forward into the tank as much? Also, if it is true, do you know if the 2017 seat will fit right onto a 2016? I ask because I am about to pick up my 2016 FZ09 and if it sliding me forward into the tank, I would like to swap the seat out. Thank you very much for your time.

    Hey Brian what do you think of putting a R6. Tube on my Fz-07? Would it work with stock grips.?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  8 років тому

      +CrazyCanadian I'm not 100% sure but I think it is plausible. The bars should be the same size.

    Hi Brian, why would someone choose to get aluminum grips? Is there a bennefit, or is mostly looks? Thanks-

      The aluminum parts are just cosmetic accents over a standard (high quality) grip. I rode over 400 miles last weekend with these new grips and liked them a lot. They are a little larger diameter than the stock grips and had nice feel. - Van

    I ordered some aftermarket bar ends that won't fit the throttle side flush without the throttle sticking. Its dangerous. I'm looking for grips that are perfectly flush or shorter grips? Any info helps or the bar end issue or grips!

    What if you've not got access to the compressed air?

    • @RaptorV1USA
      @RaptorV1USA 2 роки тому

      slide a small thin flat blade screw driver up between the grip and bar,.. pull the rubber away from the shaft, then shoot what ever solvent/liquid you can into the gap.. .water, hair spray, windex, tequila, 409, rubbing alcohol, . pull the tool out & immediately twist and pull on the grip....usually 1 decent shot of some solvent, liquid up inside that bitch is all it takes....;-)

    Interesting about WD40....(?) never heard that one. Personally on EVERYTHING I ride with handle bars and grips motorcycles bikes Mtn bikes, assorted tools with handles and round grips,.....I use compressed air as well for removal, + THE OG... "grip glue"....
    Aqua Net hair spray...!
    I've literally had the SAME tall can of this shit for yeesh..about 25 years now... works EVERY time & It's prob. 3/4 full still ;-)
    I'll likely pass it on to my nephews when I die.....
