    You made my day, thank you. You have inspired me after a period of not painting.

    I love this technique and your methodical layered approach. Great job distilling the scene down to its essential elements - simply beautiful!

      'distilling' - a great, descriptive word for the process. Thanks Don!

    This totally removes the white page intimidation factor for me. Can't wait to do this😊

    How very beautiful! Thank you for this stunning tutorial - you make it look so simple, but then, you are quite some "drawer" !! Keep well and take care .

      Confidence in drawing helps when it comes to line and wash, certainly. You're very welcome, by the way - I'm pleased you enoyed it.

    Love this painting you bring the colours to life!! I am trying to get more loose with my mark makings and you make it look so easy. I live in the U.S. have family in England and the countryside where you are is so beautiful!

      Go for it Wendy... just make sure they are waterproof and not water-soluble. Enjoy!

    Fine work! I've seen several of your videos and find your technique very appealing. It would be helpful to me if while you are painting a scene you could have a photo of it visible to viewers. Then we could watch how you interpret what you are actually seeing.

    When I was a child you could buy a box of something called "Magic Rocks". The box contained a substance that you mixed into a glass of water, and some small colored globs of something that would gradually grow in the water. The rocks in the scene you just painted seemed to grow magically out of the original wash. Beautiful!

    Thank you so much for this demo. I noticed you mentioned gouache at one point. Did you use gouache in this painting or all water color?

    • @peterwoolleyartist
      @peterwoolleyartist  Рік тому

      I don't recall mentioning gouache... nope - no gouache was used in this or any of my watercolour paintings. All my whites are the white of the paper (i generally don't use masking fluid either, preferring to create highlights bty negatively painting around them). Thanks for the comment Cindy - I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
