  • The clients main concern was removing the white haze from hardwater Build-up and some soap scum. I started with an acid wash and scrubbed it. I moved on and used a hardwater/soap scum remover, which helped get more off. outside of the video, I actually had to strip the walls. They later on showed me the sealer that got put on only the walls, requiring me to utilize a stripping agent to work it off. 1500 psi is what it also took to work it off faster. the border walls definitely needed some grout repair, which was talked about. The end result made a big difference and led to a five-star review. the goal was to eliminate their concerns but in order to make everything easier to maintain. stripping the walls and applying a solvent sealer was what I needed to do.

I wish you were in Connecticut to do my shower. Can you let me know the type/brand of steamer you used?
    Thanks

Nice restoration just like always. BTW, how much u charge this shower?

Before sealing around $400. That was before I knew it had an acrylic sealer on it. I would have charged another $150-200. It took more time removing that than the restoration on the floor part.

Nice work! I have a similar shower and it's much worse (precipitation, soap scum and oil). I assume the Kick Acid can handle this? And, how course is that brush you are using, on the drill? Similar to a kitchen sink scouring pad (yellow foam on one side, green scouring pad on other)? Thanks!!

At the least, a green pad if possible. If you're doing it by hand. I'd suggest using gloves just in case and thoroughly wash it off.

What product did you use for the acid wash? Then, what product for the sides?

It's called Kick Acid from TMF. I wouldn't advise using it unless you have a way to rinse it thoroughly with a machine.

What other type of acid could you use?
