It depends on the ink used in the newspaper. Years ago, major papers in the Chicago area changed to soy ink. Does not work like the older ink did. Few of us have newspapers around the house anymore.
Wow, oven cleaner is such a great idea and plastic wrap for the door is another one 🤩. I‘ve watched a lot of cleaning videos, but this is the first time I heard these two! What I do to keep my shower spotless: I use a squegee and then a glass microfiber to wipe it completely clean. I never have to clean my shower, while the one my husband uses needs clesning every week, because we have incredibly hard water here. I prefer investing this minute after each shower so there is no need to work hard or use harsh chemicals, and my shower is ALWAYS spotless 🤩
Another tip: instead of the plastic wrap, stick kitchen towel on it ☺️ that way you can still spray on more acid (with a spray bottle) on top of it. The way I remove limescale is spraying it with cleaning vinegar, applying kitchen paper on top and then spraying more. The paper absorbs it and keeps it in place
@@giirlchan I don’t really have a set time but I usually leave it until I finish cleaning something else and then I lift it up from one place to check the status! If it looks good, I remove it, otherwise I leave it a little longer ☺️
A little tip from a biochemistry student: Use acetic acid instead of citric acid it's far more effective with lime and as agressive as oven cleaner. Keep up the good work, lots of love.
Little Tip from pharmasist: yes, acetic acid has more power - but it will also attac the tile joints in the Bath room and the aerosol your lungs :( I do my own cleaning products many years with citric acid and Dishsoap and it works very well. Small recommendation from a biologist: be careful when using different cleaning products where some are alkaline and other acidic. Depending on the exact chemicals in it, it can sometimes create dangerous gas. I remember hearing something especially risky relating to chlorine bleach mixed with something acidic. Also, when removing limescale, it will typically have a reaction that liberates CO2 into the air, so remember to keep a window/door open. Although you will likely notice it really quick if there is a lot of CO2 around (long before it becomes truly dangerous). CO2 makes us feel like we're suffocating. So if you feel that way while removing limescale, step out of the room for a while and keep the windows and doors wide open.
Auri talks a lot about mixing things together, what you can, what you can’t, what is acid, what is neutral. She seems very well versed in the chemical knowledge of her business.
The best cleaning experience I ever had was cleaning my oven racks by putting them in HOT water in the bathtub (lined with a towel to prevent scratching the tub) then sprinkle over with powdered dishwasher soap (I used Finish Powder). Oh my! They came out LIKE NEW! Every nook and cranny was like it had never been used before. So satisfying. You have to leave it there for a couple of hours but so worth it.
I've been struggling to remove make up, especially mascara, from my wooden table so I'd really like to see you making a tutorial on how to clean surfaces like this from make up :)
when something is thick or oily, as in a really thick oil like tyre grease regular oil should work, for mascara try lens cleaning solution or maybe both, i use sunflower oil an initial make up remover, specifically for waterproof makeup and then face soap after, it really works. oil is great for so many things like for after waxing, a bit of oil removes any stickiness or if you have stickers on walls etc, rub a little oil and great for polishing a stainless steel surface, a tiny little spritz of oil rubbed in thoroughly with a cotton cloth works.
Use a dehumidifier during the wet months, or ckoset dryers, boat dryers, etc. Moisture or condensation=mold and mildew! Mildew stains, however, are a whole 'nuther issue.
I used to do house cleanings and glass showers were one of most time consuming jobs to do because you had to clean it over and over and over to make sure there was no streaks. Interesting tip with the plastic wrap!
@@aleksandralempart8305 Agreed. You can buy a fully stainless steel set or 2 nice cast iron pans for under $200, and you'll be able to use those for life. So much nicer to cook on and nothing flakes off when you clean them.
please can we get some life hacks about dust cleaning, it's the most annoying thing because it transfers wherever you wipe it and you have to do it so often! :D thank you, love your videos, I wait for them everytime!
At the moment the best method I found is wipe the surface with a cloth damped with warm water and floor cleaner(and small bucket with water to rinse it), and then dry the surface with another fibre cloth. It lasts up to two weeks in my case.
Hi Auri!! 🌸 love cleaning like you and usually I can clean anything and get out any stain but the one thing I can never seem to remove is oil stains. I would love to see a video on how to get oil stains out of any fabric/carpets/couch or clothes
If you mixed dish soap with your citric acid, it will stick to your surfaces. Dish soap with white vinegar also works great on calcium and lime build up. Are you concerned about all the chemical you are exposed to? I love watching you clean. You do an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
Another great tip for the water marks/limescale on the shower doors/tiles is to spray white vinegar on it (I think it cannot be applied on the natural stone, etc. so check it before you destroy your tiles), scrub it, repeat if needed (if your tiles are smooth and your hand "glides" when you're scrubbing it - the water marks/limescale is gone), rinse. Mix part water, part dishwasher shine liquid/rinse aid and spray it onto the tiles, rub it in, then rinse with water. It will be weeks before any new marks will show up! :)
Mustasaippuaa ja semmonen normaali hankaussieni kosteana, käytä sielää puolta ettei naarmuta. Sit vaan pyyhkiä puhtaalla mikrokuituliinalla, käytin vielä Kiillon Keittiö puhdistussuihketta lopuksi. In english: Black liquid olive soap, soft wet sponge, wipe with clean microfibretowel, I used also cleaning spray for kitchen when most of the dirt was gone.
Use a kitchen degreaser, spray it everywhere and let it sit for 5min. Then use paper to wipe off all the dust and spray. Then a cloth and dishwasher soap to clean the surface.
Aurikatariina: Have you considered using Power Paste on the glass door? It is a paste containing abrasive, so it should remove any calcium deposit. Since it is a paste, it would not run down the glass, so no need for plastic wrap.

Thank you again for the satisfying video! And I would like to know if there’s a way to remove mold in the silicone glue around the toilet rim that stabilizes it on the ground
You can kill it (bleach or dedicated mold cleaner), but if the silicone is stained, you have to/can quite easily scrape the silicone out of the area and reapply a fresh silicone seal :) I have read somewhere that there are products to put under the fresh silicone to hinder new mold growth.
Here in the U.S., I use Kaboom on all surfaces, and scrub with my 3M scouring pad on a stick that telescopes in or out. Sqeegee and microfiber cloth dry the glass doors. I then apply Rain-Ex to the glass doors with a Scrub Mommy.

What I struggle with the most in our rental is the mould in porous areas, like the grout. The apartment is really badly made and there is basically no ventilation (also, people don't seem to care about rentals here), so mould has accumulated and I haven't been able to get rid of it, even with pure strong vinegar or bleach. Also, getting rid of dust when the apartment has carpet throughout. An absolute nightmare. You dust, you vacuum, 30 seconds later, the surfaces are dusty again. It does my head in. PS : I love the fact that even while cleaning, you take care of your appearance. I always look and feel like a slob when I clean, and it makes me hate it even more.
I hope she answers this or makes a video on mold! My friend is living in a basement rental and the moisture and mold is just horrible, I'm sorry that you have to be in those conditions 😔
We had a very damp apartment once. I placed a "damp rid moisture absorber" in each room. It was crazy how much water those things captured out of the moist air. In our next home we purchased a portable de-humidifier for our basement that has made all the difference. Good luck!

I LOVE watching your videos !! You are honestly so inspiring and kind cleaning others homes for free 💕💕 I love to clean (and actually film it too at times) but yours are so satisfying to watch
For the grease cleaning to be even more effective you can use a special brush which has the perfect shape for those spaces. Else the height of the tiles can make it hard to actually scrub.
This motivated me to go get up and scrub a wall in my bathroom, and tonight i will do another wall. Tomorrow and last one and the floor. Surely through little steps I will eventually get to s a clean bathroom again.
Just remember to properly wipe & rinse afterwards, as the citric acid will crystallize otherwise and leave a flaky white residue ;) Also: a 40-50% solution is sufficient, and do wear gloves as it can irritate the skin.
citric acid is great for your kettle, i put about a desert spoon in about 2 mugs of water for mild limescale, if more then maybe a tablespoon and half a kettle and repeat if needed, ideally once a week for your kettle to keep limescale free s good.

Baking Soda and Vinegar! Put the pan to warm up for two minutes, then scrub it gently and it all comes off without hurting the coat.
Throw them in the bin! Non stick causes cancer
@@aleksandralempart8305 Agreed. You can buy a fully stainless steel set or 2 nice cast iron pans for under $200, and you'll be able to use those for life. So much nicer to cook on and nothing flakes off when you clean them.
This is so great to know! I’ve had old shower doors that looked dirty no matter what!! Thank you!
Every vídeo I watch I feel like cleaning my house 😍
I wish I could be as calm as you are 😃
Or as excited! ❤️💕 I feel the same way!
Me too 😆
please can we get some life hacks about dust cleaning, it's the most annoying thing because it transfers wherever you wipe it and you have to do it so often! :D thank you, love your videos, I wait for them everytime!
I would love that, too.^^ Dust on other surfaces than the ground is my enemy and it really is the most annoying cleaning task.
At the moment the best method I found is wipe the surface with a cloth damped with warm water and floor cleaner(and small bucket with water to rinse it), and then dry the surface with another fibre cloth. It lasts up to two weeks in my case.
Light colour furniture doesn't show dust at all.
And pet hair on hardwood floors!! Swiffer doesn't even get it all like they say it does😡
@@tomaszwyszkowski2253 oh yes it does lol
Hi Auri!! 🌸 love cleaning like you and usually I can clean anything and get out any stain but the one thing I can never seem to remove is oil stains. I would love to see a video on how to get oil stains out of any fabric/carpets/couch or clothes
I saw something about dusting cornflour on top to absorb the oil then brush it up and then use a degreaser?
For hard water deposits I use dawn dish soap and vinegar heated up in a microwave. Then I pour it in a spray bottle. It works fantastic!
Elbow deep in nastiness but the nails look amazing 🥰
If you mixed dish soap with your citric acid, it will stick to your surfaces. Dish soap with white vinegar also works great on calcium and lime build up.
Are you concerned about all the chemical you are exposed to?
I love watching you clean. You do an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
Girl, those nails look fabulous and you are awesome at what you do!
What to do when glass is pitted?
Also, steel scour daddy.. it's amazing. I used it first time today and I was so impressed!
I bought a scrub mommy after watching your videos and I love it! You inspire me to clean!
I super appreciate these tutorials and the love that you show to your followers! Do you have tips on how to remove mold stains from the shower?
Another great tip for the water marks/limescale on the shower doors/tiles is to spray white vinegar on it (I think it cannot be applied on the natural stone, etc. so check it before you destroy your tiles), scrub it, repeat if needed (if your tiles are smooth and your hand "glides" when you're scrubbing it - the water marks/limescale is gone), rinse. Mix part water, part dishwasher shine liquid/rinse aid and spray it onto the tiles, rub it in, then rinse with water. It will be weeks before any new marks will show up! :)
Doesn't work on stubborn limescale
I would like to see tips and tricks in the removal of the greasy dust stuck on top of kitchen shelves etc
Try dish soap and hard sponge! It may need a second passing if it's too stuck.
I saw her using oven cleaner to remove tough grease from shelves,
I also use Easy Off kitchen degreaser. It works with all greasy stuff.
@@sylvia912 Aurikatariina used power paste in her other videos.
You are the best. I thought there were spots still on the tile but the spots were on my screen. Great vid!
You’re my favorite person to watch ! You do such a great job !
Thank you!! 😍
@@Aurikatariina Hey Girl, you're like an angel. Just awesome. Please lemme know how to remove wall stains please..
I’ve learned a lot from this video. Thank you so much! But how do you remove hard water in toilet seat and bowl? Also hard water in a plastic bathtub. Thank you so much! Keep inspiring and giving hope to people!

Thank you! My boyfriend is selling his flat and has been super stressed about the limescale. I’ll try this and hopefully that will remove one of his worries. Greetings from Norway!
Auri, I've watched all your videos already in just a few days. Please make more!!
Hola, soy de Barcelona (Spain) me encanta tu simpatía y tú labor ayudando desinteresadamente a personas que no están bien, además aprendo trucos de limpieza, gracias 🤗🤗🤗
Oh that was helpful I have huge dark tiles in my bathroom and all purpose cleaner which I usually use to mop the floor doesn't do the job but now I know how to get rid of the white stuff
Hope this helps you! 🥰
I wanted to make my tiles shine, I used CLR to remove the limescale and followed with dish soap for the oils and fats. Thank you for letting me know to do the dish soap FIRST and THEN the CLR. I still couldn't get the tiles to shine though. Has the lime been on the tiles too long I wonder? Thanks, Auri xx
Thank you again for the satisfying video! And I would like to know if there’s a way to remove mold in the silicone glue around the toilet rim that stabilizes it on the ground
tea tree oil and baby wipes. Let it sit for a minute.
You can kill it (bleach or dedicated mold cleaner), but if the silicone is stained, you have to/can quite easily scrape the silicone out of the area and reapply a fresh silicone seal :)
I have read somewhere that there are products to put under the fresh silicone to hinder new mold growth.
Here in the U.S., I use Kaboom on all surfaces, and scrub with my 3M scouring pad on a stick that telescopes in or out. Sqeegee and microfiber cloth dry the glass doors. I then apply Rain-Ex to the glass doors with a Scrub Mommy.
Love your cleaning tips and hacks!! 😍
Anni!
You are the Queen of Clean!
Auri: It's super easy
Also Auri: proceeds to scrub for hours using different cleaning products and tools
Me: Wishing I had her energy.
Auri, you are adorable, but that wasn't easy. Lol. You have such a cute, positive personality! 🤍
Yes you are the world's best cleaner..👍👍
You make cleaning look so easy!
I love how you make everything look new!
Good luck!
@@BenjesBride they've never worked for me. And seeing as humidity levels here are between 80 and 95+ year round, I think using dehumidifiers would be an uphill battle, especially in a non ventilated flat.
@@BenjesBride she just purchased 2 dehumidifiers, hopefully they help! Now to remove and stop mold on already ruined and rotten surfaces and walls is going to be a whole new issue lol
I should try to clean the glass shower this way! Thank you for the tips and great mood you always have!
Watching you clean is so addicting 💕
Thank you for doing these videos!! The end result is amazing 👏!!!
Não falo inglês, mas amo esse canal!!!🇧🇷 sou do Brasil!!
Hardest thing to clean: Grout between 4” ceramic tile tub/shower surround. What products and cleaners are best to use? Thank you!
as a homecleaner i wish i could use the products i want but i have to use what they provides and believe me i would kill for some good produts / tools in some cases.
I one house the only product i'm allowed to use is vinegar, and old rag clothes for wipping it ...
Want an easier way? Put on a 3m mask and use flash (high concentration HCL)
Becareful of any metal tho its very corrosive
I LOVE watching your videos !! You are honestly so inspiring and kind cleaning others homes for free 💕💕 I love to clean (and actually film it too at times) but yours are so satisfying to watch
For the grease cleaning to be even more effective you can use a special brush which has the perfect shape for those spaces. Else the height of the tiles can make it hard to actually scrub.
This motivated me to go get up and scrub a wall in my bathroom, and tonight i will do another wall. Tomorrow and last one and the floor. Surely through little steps I will eventually get to s a clean bathroom again.
@@aurora7442 That's awesome.
@@MrFloris Thank you 😊
Aurikatarina...the best super cleaner! Keep on doing the good work.
I have this exact problem in my bathroom: calcium. I'll try citric acid.
You can do a deep cleaning with citric acid and then, on other days you can use white vinegar and dish soap, as a fast cleaning touch :)
We have issues w/ mold in the bathroom I wouldn't mind seeing a tutorial of that :) Thank you :)
Spray with bleach, wait 10 mins and wipe away
Your bathroom probably have poor ventilation, opening the windows will help .

How do you clean rusty sink holes? And makeup stains on dressing table ??
may you always be healthy and happy thank you for all that you do
The most stubborn stain is the ring on my sinks caused by the hand soap bottle. I dunno if it's a rusty ring but it's yellow, nasty, and nothing gets rid of it.
Try vinegar. I use that for my sink.
