      Just got back from Penang for a visit. Best place to stay as it is less hectic than KL, it has beaches and mountains, lots of history and very laid back vibes. The city is also cleaner than KL. Food is cheaper and even deemed better.

    Depends on your personality. If you are young and single, people will pick thailand. But when you are older and have a family you pick malaysia. Why?
    You do not tend to drink as much alcohol in pubs
    You need health check up and medical attention
    You need western linked education system for your kids eg from USA, UK, Australia, nz, canada. We hv that.
    Ganja or marijuana is not easily sold openly
    Foreigners pay same price for properties in malaysia. But they do have a minimum purchase limit.

      @jaykassim3474 most Americans will paint an angelic picture of Philippines or thailand, but is it true? If malaysia is that awful, we won't be south east Asia's popular destination together with thailand. Just logic thinking.
      The fact is there are only 2 SEA countries on the top 10 safety index of the world. Singapore and malaysia.
      Also healthcare is equal or better than usa.
      Our food is just as good as thai food.
      Yes, we do not smile as much as thai people, but we are mostly honest. Very few scam around.

    Before Malaysia got it's independence from the British in 1957 English was the language of the administration. There's more of an emphasis of Malay in the in our national Education system recently but Malaysia still retains a lot of it's English speaking ability and our Banking system and Stock Exchange is primarily in English.

    Malaysia follows British Common law.
    Land laws are similar (but not the same) to UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and USA.
    Anyone can buy land or buildings. The only caveat being the value of the said property. There is a minimum value set by the State Governments. You can get a licensed realtor to assist you to purchase.

    Malaysia and Thailand are secular countries, they both welcome many religious practices. Thailand is predominantly Buddhism while Malaysia is predominantly Muslim (interesting fact: if you are born in Malaysia you become Muslim by law). Malaysia allows foreigners to buy land to build a house they plan to live in (very rare in SE Asia). Thailand doesn't allow foreigners to own land to build on, but you can buy condos all day long (same applies to the Philippines). Neither country offers a pathway to citizenship, even if you were to marry a Malaysian or Thailand native, all you can get a permanent residency which is not the same as being granted citizenship.

    • @PayMeInPaella
      @PayMeInPaella  2 дні тому +1

      Wow interesting. I didn’t know about the Muslim by law . I did see online about the citizenship part .
      Also along my travel I learned if you get a Singapore citizenship (which is hard) you can’t be a citizen in the USA any more

      @@PayMeInPaella let's correct that statement, if you're a malay Malaysian born in Malaysia, you are automatically a Muslim. It doesn't apply to any other Malaysian race, ibanese, Chinese, peranakan, Indian, etc. we have about 100 over race in including those born in Borneo.

      @@PayMeInPaella dont believe him, Malaysia is Muslim majority country. both malaysia and thailand is not secular country. we here allow any religion especially our main race to practice their religion here, we are not secular country.

    • @arzchannel13
      @arzchannel13 День тому +3

      That information is incorrect. According to Islamic teachings, a child born to Muslim parents is automatically considered a Muslim. This principle is rooted in the concept of Fitrah, which states that every human is born in a natural state of submission to Allah (Muslim). If both parents are Muslims, the child’s religion is inherently Islam, as per Islamic jurisprudence.
      In the context of Malaysia, this principle aligns with both Islamic teachings and Malaysian law. According to Article 160 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, a Malay is defined as someone who:
      1. Professes the religion of Islam,
      2. Habitually speaks the Malay language, and
      3. Adheres to Malay customs.
      This definition legally binds Malay identity to the Islamic faith. Therefore, if someone is born as a Malay in Malaysia, they are automatically considered a Muslim. This is further reinforced by Syariah law, which governs Muslims in Malaysia, making it mandatory for Malays to adhere to Islam.
      In summary, being a Muslim for a child born to Muslim parents is not only a matter of Islamic belief but also codified in Malaysian laws, especially for Malays. This dual recognition ensures the preservation of both religious and cultural identities in Malaysia.

      It depends on which part of Africa they are from, but based on the experiences of netizens who have them as neighbors, the behavior is often the same: they are loud, rude, party at night, and are sometimes associated with scamming.Our people cant say anything especially Malays who tend to be more soft spoken and gentle..these immigrants just bullied them like foreign fish species have arrived and are threatening to invade the local fish population.
      however i also meet Sudanese family who are so gentle and lovely. i guess we just welcome them if they come with family and stay alert if they're in group?but we don't want to constantly feel on edge; we want peace. Building a stable and peaceful country is difficult, and some immigrants come and spoil it
