Have to tell you my 8 year old just loves your videos! He’s learning so much. Thank you for not using bad language we appreciate that SO much! Thank you for your hard work! Great catch!
Glad to see you back buddy! I mean, I like watching Jay Siemens catch small fish and everything but CSO just does it bigger! Looking forward to the next one, good luck out there!
Another beauty! Have to say I missed those. Fully agree on the time comments. Once you realize it just takes you can start to really hone in the skills.
Great vid! Just managed to catch my new PB yesterday. 35.5” on an Acme V-Rod. It’s my new favourite lure for jigging lakers. 3/4oz so it sinks fast and the vibration really seems to wind them up!
Man I've missed the laker video. As always very informative and big fish. Keep it up my guy. I keep applying your knowledge here in the states. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But definitely has helped me catch more fish.
Great video, beautiful fish. Learned a lot by watching, very informative. Great electronics, SO COOL! I have to say the water temp for early August is so much cooler where you are compared to where I was fishing for Lakers at the same time, so guess you're way north. I was in the Lake Huron-Manitoulin Island, Ontario area and the surface temp was around 70 in early August, so the fish were a lot deeper. I pretty much trolled with a downrigger using spoons the whole time, but love your sharp shooting jig technique. Also thanks for releasing those nice fish, so many guys I know keep all the Lakers they legally can (released all mine as well). Such a slow growing, long lived fish that doesn't replace their population very fast if over harvested. Just love catching them for the sport of it. Some fishermen try telling my I shouldn't release ANY Lakers caught from deep water as they're too stressed to survive, but think this is just an excuse to keep all their fish. Keep up the great work.
been having a blast with the hyoer glide and the rattle with trout this summer, but be changing over to the walleye next weekend. Great video it is fun sharp and snap jigging them
Hey there, any chance you could mention the rod specs? Particularly the Lure weight rating, Power, action? I can't make up my mind on good lake trout rod and i've been told mutliple things
Clayton, the Fam and I are up here in West Grand Lake Maine trying to find these devils. Keep looking in 40-70 feet of water and while I see signals at that depth the don’t seem to have any interest in our tube jigs. Is there a specific time of day? We would love to catch ANYthing at this point. Legal size here this year is 1 fish per day and 18” or longer
Clayton, Another great video. You made a comment that I'd like to revisit. I have 20 plus rods and reels for open water plus 1/2 that many for ice fishing. Like you, I can catch huge fish on shorter and less expensive tackle so what's the point of the added expense ? Al
Hay Clayton have you used that solar generator yet and how good is it ??? I have been think about getting one for ice fishing but wonted to see how they work in the cold
A big lake trout can have around 20 000 eggs but that big old one triple that number twice a year. it's essential we stop keeping them. Plus these big one are not the best eat. 3 to 5 pounds are perfect for fish sticks.
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Guess i gotta make it up to flin flon again to go lake trout fishing. Fall a good time to do it? I just got back 2 weeks ago, fishing is so much better up north then Last Mountain.
I cannot believe in august you guys find these big guys in 60 feet or less and many of them looks like they have been above the 50 line... what is the surface temp? Because the whitefish are on the perch fry here you can get into some lakers after the whities but were still fishing no shallower than 65 to 75 fow and those lakers are below the whities in 80ish fow

Love the interactive video game fishing! Thanks Clayton
Love the 2 screens so we can see what you are looking at and how you are jigging them. Nice Job!
Appreciate the kind words!

Just somebody's older brother. Grumpy fish haha. Like Lakers Clayton! Love watching you snipe these hogs
Great video. Thanks for sharing. What is the max effective depth for MegaLive for this type of fishing?
Dude your fish are legendary and make me dream of catching my own Canadian monster lake trout

Clayton I have never got anything close to 36". Lol shows the quality of lake trout you guys are use to lol. Alberta isn't known for tank Lakers lol

Hell yeah brother!
If a guy was to troll in August what lure and method would I use?
What’s this fish finder called? That’s amazing to be able to see your lure and fish! Crazy. Now I need to find out if it would work in my canoe haha
Mega Live by Humminbird :)
you didn't link the knot vid! Neso Lake? Nice fish bud!

Has anyone been able to find a distributer of those Kramer Lake Jelly tubes in the USA?
Right on Luckeyes men on earth fish everyday hope come do fall fishing northern mb big jacks
Hay Clayton have you used that solar generator yet and how good is it ??? I have been think about getting one for ice fishing but wonted to see how they work in the cold
It was ok... I still prefer my Honda for extended periods on the ice.
And it starts ok in the cold ??? I was thinking about a ceramic heater 12v as my propane heater sometimes makes my eye water
How much does a fish finder like that cost?!
Awesome!
awesome stuff!
Cheers!
Good info .nice but lifejacket.?
What about it? Do I have to wear it while fishing all the time? I wear it when driving all the time...
Do you troll for lakers?
Big lakers is right! Kind of miss that. No lakers in the South

How much do they weigh Clayton

“Not a giant, maybe a 40”er”
