    Great video. I'm 73 yrs old with a 5 year old gelding Percheron Paint. I've known & worked with him since he was 2 and feral. Now, he's so loving and patient. We are at an English barn and have been riding english. I want to do western. Your video for neck reining is great! My question: I'm using a Neue Schule Turtle Top with Flex Horse Bit. Should I get the western bit that you use and split reins? Thank you

      The dressage instructor i work for made me realize that the correct way of riding inside leg to outside hand still applies to the mechanics of neck reining. Made my little western brain explode with connections!

    Wonderful video(s)! I learn so much from you guys! Can you review placement and use of the rider's inside and outside legs when turning?

      Thanks for watching! My legs stay in a neutral position right behind the cinch on both sides. When I turn, I apply the outside leg and if there's no response, I start bumping the horse until he moves over. I don't really open up my inside leg, because I want my horse to continue to travel forward during the turn. If he turns inside out (nose to the outside of the turn), I'll use my inside leg to soften the ribcage and point his nose back in the direction we're traveling. I hope all that makes sense.

    What bit do you use

      The bit I'm using on this horse is a medium shank correction:

    Can you do a video on how to retrain your horse to be kicked to go instead of squeeze.

    What. Are your 7 favorite horse groundwork exercises?

      @zacharias.horsemanship  Рік тому

      Well I don't have 7 favorite, but I can give you my Top 3:
      1. Lunging for softness.
      2. Backup.
      3. Hip yield.
