Great run Ryu! It’s crazy to think that you were able to complete the entire marihour in the same time it takes to do a 70 star run. Love seeing some 3D Mario on the channel!
DK 64 is a fascinating speedrun. Recently saw a video doing a breakdown of the history of its speedrun, and it’s insane! Would love to see Ryuu learning that
So very proud of you man. Mario 64 speedruning is a total beast to tackle. The fact that you got 70 stars in under 1 hour is an incredible accomplishment and speaks for itself all of the time and effort that you have put into this. GGs!
One day I truly hope you would do Mario Sunshine, you could just vamp during the unskippable cutscene, haha! I think Sunshine has the craziest possibilities for movement and has the sickest platforming! Meanwhile, this intro was crazy, I love how you went through all the effort to locate all the clips to show what you were talking about! Finally... congrats, man! This was an incredible achievement! Your princess was in this castle! CONGRATULATIONS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING HIS GAME!
I wanna say, my friend and I have been doing amateur Mario 64 speedruns for the last like 2 years or so, you're definitely better than us but it's cool seeing the amateur-ish perspective of someone else doing speedruns for it. Don't get me wrong, I the people with the top times in each category are amazing to witness, but this feels incredibly relatable for me. I'll totally watch pretty much any speedrun you do, it's just entertaining seeing it from your perspective.
I used to really love playing this game. Haven't played it in ages now, but I never could've done 95% of what you just did. That's awesome Ryu. Great job, man.
This is the stream that I discovered you! Now I can’t stop watching. 🤣 Thanks for all of the great content. Keep it up! Would love a 120 star speed run. 🥳
I would love to see you work on getting sub 50 in Super Metroid. This is one of the most technical 2D speedruns and would definitely put your speedrunning skills to the test. I started running SM a month ago and went from 1:58:XX to 57:45 last night. I think you could shred the sub 50 challenge.
I fall asleep to your channel every night and not cause your boring but your so calming and the vibes from your videos are so nice it makes me sleep so well :) thanks for giving us incredible videos :)
If you want a challenge (and torture lol) play Mario 64 Chaos edition! … On another note, I know you stopped it on your other channel due to losing your save, but Super Mario RPG Armageddon would still be a sweet thing to come back to (although if you start over I’d play the content edition versus hard mode, you were playing hard mode which shows red text boxes while content mode shows green, and some of the post game content gets VERY difficult even on content mode IMO)
Sunshine will never compare to SM64, this game brings me such nostalgia it's ridiculous. I cannot fathom how many hours it took me to finish this game as a kid.
If you want another game to speed run I would recommend Pizza Tower. It is inspired by Wario land, where after you get to the end of the level you have to run back the other way on a timer. The game has a lot of movement options and is a fun game to speed run. When you beat the game you are given a judgement and there are 2 special ones for completing it quickly.
Ryu, it would be awesome to see you play Star Tropics! In my opinion, one of the best and most underrated titles on the NES, with a really well executed difficulty ramp.
Man you HAVE to try Dustforce. It's an old 2D platformer that truly blends precision and speed in an incredible way. Definitely a game where the sky is the limit for your skill, and yet it avoids the incredibly punishing feeling when you miss a jump in other games.
37:44 I've been playing this game for 25 years and somehow never knew you could kill that guy. Unbelievable. Wonder what I'll learn 25 years from now Mario 64.
“So long gay Bowser” hit my nostalgia so hard. Idk what he’s actually saying but that’s been a meme in everything my friends play that includes Bowser for like 20+ years.
Charles Martinet, the voice of mario, states, that he actually sais "so long, kinga bowser" which is more related for the japanese version. Translated he sais "bye bye, king koopa" because "bowser" as the name never exists in japan back in that days
Congrats! Great run. Too bad about the ‘mistakes’, could be even faster. You’ll be running 58 or even faster in no time after this. Would love to see it and see more of Mario 64, but regardless I can’t wait to see what challenge you’ll conquer next!
Dude, play Plok. It's a classic, and pretty tough, SNES platformer with a little dude who throws his arms and legs like boomerangs. It's awesome! Please consider it for a playthough :)
27:45 Reminds me when one of my friends borrowed me his gameboy advance so I could play Megaman Battle Network 3, i completed every pixel of that game, then, after I gave his gameboy back, he comes a week later and says: "So uhh i borrowed it to another friend and he deleted our save file..." To this day i still feel void when i tell this story...
I don't know if you've ever played Donkey Kong '94 for the Gameboy but not only do you get a Mario featured game, but one of the best Donkey Kong games ever.
I bet no one on the planet would recommend this game, but I think you should speedrun Castle Crashers. I don't even know if there's a community that speedruns this game, but you have to try it! It's so fun, a little monotonous, but the journey is epic! :D
A challenge for you: Sub 3 min Getting over it run. 3 mins feels hard but generous judging that the world record is just over 1min. I remember your orginal videos on this game and the pain you suffered. For the content.
I can't imagine how much practice it takes to memorize the optimal route for each star. I know he said he was going to move on from Mario 64 but seeing a 120 star speedrun would be really cool.
Nicely done, what about a what about this challenge, pick 2 platformers you love. Pick a SR catagory that 1, you’ve never attempted, 2 have similar SR times. Blind SR the two games to see which game you’re actually better at. The catagories can be different between games. Your just trying to beat the other SRs time.
the mario karts got sum wicked speed runs, mario 8 dropped new tracks too . but u should do a series where you get all the stars in every cc in mario kart 8!
Since you asked for suggestions, I have a suggestion that I would really love to see, and that is either the Arcade or the TurboGrafx version of Splatterhouse. This came to mind when you played Haunted Castle, because to me, Namco's Splatterhouse is the Arcade Game that Haunted Castle tried to be.
It's crazy I still haven't played this one fully. Though a fun game to run might be Ninja Ryuukenden for the Turbografx 16. Just such an amazing port, and it's got "Ryu" in it, so it only makes sense.
I´d love to see you run Rayman. Once, the very first 2D one, because it is infamously hard and feels like something that might be a true “challenge”. Simply beating might be enough of a challenge. And as the other, the second game in the series, Rayman: The Great Escape, is a great title in general IMO. I love both the later PC release as well as the earlier Genesis and N64 releases, but the PS2 port Rayman:Revolution has a special place in my heart. I never played it as a child, but I discovered it on emulator much later and loved it simply for the over world and new levels it had. Rayman Origins and Legends are probably better known titles, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (for PC) is also quite beloved with some, but except for legends I don´t feel like they´d be of interest to you running. Rayman Revolution also is kinda weak in that regard, but it still being an early era game gives it a certain charm you maybe would like. As for all of these: Play them on PC and emulate if needed. Only pay for a cartridge if you actually end up liking them. Don´t want you to spend senseless money.
It's feels like Yoshi's Island is a underrated speedrunning game and not really anyone runs it anymore. It would be cool to see you try it, there is even kazio romhacks of it.
I reckon full Solstice clear would be epic... best game on the NES after SM1 and 3 imho, music is kickass good too and who would have thought the chaps would go onto greater things like GTA O.o
Probably an unpopular request, but I think yoshi's island on snes any% warps would be a cool speedrun challenge to watch. It would be a bit different because it's a much longer run, but sub 2:00 would be a good goal. I just don't think it's a very popular/active category (or game, in general tbh)
I remember playing this this on an emulator with no joystick, only arrows. It was hell becaue the camera wouldn’t cooperate and I often couldn’t walk straight on narrow floors. Completed the game but low-key hated it.
I follow you on TikTok also and because of that I come across a lotttt of BAD speed runners. You are so good keep it up! I’d love to see you speed run Minecraft lol. Like faze sizzors is really good
21:52 - One of the most infuriating things in SM64, lag frames. Just facing the penguin there lost you a few seconds. It's insane seeing how the speedrunners, specially the 120 star ones (just because they have to do it throughout a longer run), deal with them with some clever camera angles and routes. I think you can do a sub 56 run within another couple of months, lots of potential there.
I had the, turn off the system while saving sibling. Learned that if you can get past the point of the corrupt data on PS2 games. You can override the save for some reason.
Give "Snake Rattle 'n' Roll" to NES a go. Decently difficult game by Rare. I never beat the final boss a kid. It is great fun though and has some speed run strategies in it even (e.g. rushing to find rockets etc.).
How nostalgic, this game was my childhood, great game played by a great dude with a great channel. Greetings from germany
greetings from inside your walls. I’m here.
You were not yere when he had a beard it was also great
Great run Ryu!
Would love to see Ryuu learning that
Yes I concur! DK 64 is much much slower in game speed which is hard to get use to in comparison to mario 64
So very proud of you man. Mario 64 speedruning is a total beast to tackle. The fact that you got 70 stars in under 1 hour is an incredible accomplishment and speaks for itself all of the time and effort that you have put into this. GGs!

Finally... congrats, man! This was an incredible achievement! Your princess was in this castle!
CONGRATULATIONS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING HIS GAME!
Ryu, I don’t know if you remember this, but ryuvival is a ridiculously difficult level dedicated to you. I would love to see you beat it one day.
Really bummed that I missed this live stream! But it's awesome that you finally hit your goal!
Congrats! That was super fun to watch and swaggy as all hell.
If I would have seen this gameplay as a kid, I would've thought you were a wizard 😂
I used to really love playing this game. Haven't played it in ages now, but I never could've done 95% of what you just did. That's awesome Ryu. Great job, man.
Such a joy to watch! Thanks for putting this on UA-cam!!! So sad I missed the live, but so happy to celebrate with you anyhow!!!!
This is the stream that I discovered you! Now I can’t stop watching. 🤣 Thanks for all of the great content. Keep it up! Would love a 120 star speed run. 🥳
Congrats on the sub 1! I've known a lot of the speedrun tech for a while but this video introduced me to the game as a whole. You're a bro!
I would love to see you work on getting sub 50 in Super Metroid. This is one of the most technical 2D speedruns and would definitely put your speedrunning skills to the test.
I started running SM a month ago and went from 1:58:XX to 57:45 last night. I think you could shred the sub 50 challenge.
super metroid is a crazy run.
even going for sub 60 at first would be cool
I would also love to see this
Awesome job it was fun to watch your progress, it is a fun speed run!!!
So glad you posted this to UA-cam so I can rewatch this master piece :)
I fall asleep to your channel every night and not cause your boring but your so calming and the vibes from your videos are so nice it makes me sleep so well :) thanks for giving us incredible videos :)
If you want a challenge (and torture lol) play Mario 64 Chaos edition!

Sunshine will never compare to SM64, this game brings me such nostalgia it's ridiculous.
I cannot fathom how many hours it took me to finish this game as a kid.
Buddy, the set up in that background is dope.
I would amend the opening speech to "re-learning" the speed run. He used to do 70 star speedruns all the time after weekly LttP rando races
I miss those alttp races
Congrats on sub hour man! I’m starting the 70 star grind tonight, as someone with a sub 20 16 star time, going to shoot for sub hour 70 star! 💪🏼
Anyone else get a feeling of melancholia from the end credits music of this game? It's the audio definition of goodbye
Heck, dude. That's damn impressive. Had a lot of fun watching.
Congratulations Ryu you did amazing!
I. Would. LOVE. More SM64 content. If you could maybe upload the vods where you practice 70 star, or maybe just some good runs, that'd be sick
2nd this
You made that fall off the course in "Slip Slidin Away" look easy! Nice
Ryu, it would be awesome to see you play Star Tropics! In my opinion, one of the best and most underrated titles on the NES, with a really well executed difficulty ramp.
i loved StarTropics game when i was kid!
Bionic commando is another fun one to speed run.
Well this is a nice change of pace from the usual Mario Maker. I’ve got a game I recommend speedrunning: Super Metroid
gg. Ryukahr, your videos slap baw
1 hour video from ryuka? I'm down for it. Thanks for the amazing content btw
I'd love to see a collab between Ryu and Simpleflips. The ultimate crossover episode🤩
43:56 “That shy guy is elusive.” Hmm yeah😂
Congrats! Great run. Too bad about the ‘mistakes’, could be even faster. You’ll be running 58 or even faster in no time after this. Would love to see it and see more of Mario 64, but regardless I can’t wait to see what challenge you’ll conquer next!
I've always been fascinated with your N64 controller with the modern stick layout. Tell us about it!
You continuing the speed run challenges makes me want to recommend the vid "How speed runners look to NPC's" for a well-deserved celebration.
@27:44 Yup, and that sibling was me. I saved over my bro's FF9 file, I think he had like 30 hours in the game :')
Been waiting for you to play this for a long time.
I've watched you for a long time, Ryu. I would love to see you try a Mario 2 speedrun, or even a Mario Kart for the SNES run!
Dude, play Plok. It's a classic, and pretty tough, SNES platformer with a little dude who throws his arms and legs like boomerangs. It's awesome! Please consider it for a playthough :)
I never knew about the Blast Away the Wall glitch. Cool!
I used to watch youtubers vs speed runners which was so fun.
5v1 or like 10v2 race to collectively collect the star count
Streamlined, sensational, and stylized proficiency! 🔥
A challenge for you:
Sub 3 min Getting over it run. 3 mins feels hard but generous judging that the world record is just over 1min. I remember your orginal videos on this game and the pain you suffered.
For the content.
Seeing you rip through Starwing on the SNES and/or Starfox/Lylatwars 64 would be fantastic to see. Also, Diddy Kong Racing...
I have never played this game, so most of them seemly hard for me to understand, but always love to watch your content Ryu and congrats.
I know it isn't Mario related, but Ryu, if you want a big time challenge, you should try the Kaizo Ironmon challenge. It's really a lot of fun.
Super Metroid! It’s a 1 hour game if you’re good and super fun and the strategies are insanely fun to watch
Great job man!!🎉
I can't imagine how much practice it takes to memorize the optimal route for each star. I know he said he was going to move on from Mario 64 but seeing a 120 star speedrun would be really cool.
Been a long time fan of you Ryu!
great job man that was fun to watch
this was so cool to watch thx Ryu❤❤❤

This came to mind when you played Haunted Castle, because to me, Namco's Splatterhouse is the Arcade Game that Haunted Castle tried to be.
I've never noticed how few enemies appear in Mario 64 in each level, especially when you compare the game to all its predecessors.
Congrats, you're the man!
It's crazy I still haven't played this one fully. Though a fun game to run might be Ninja Ryuukenden for the Turbografx 16. Just such an amazing port, and it's got "Ryu" in it, so it only makes sense.
7:56 Funny how even tho I played this game a good bit as a kid, this song only reminds me of Mario Maker now
I´d love to see you run Rayman. Once, the very first 2D one, because it is infamously hard and feels like something that might be a true “challenge”. Simply beating might be enough of a challenge. Game suggestions "Street fighter X Megaman" and "CTGP Mario Kart Wii" i know you will love these 2
12:31 same, great run👍👍
God I love Mario 64. Great run and congrats!
Great vid ryu 🔥
So sicc camera and movements fantastic run!
Participate in the 602 Race in June.
SM64, Galaxy 1, Sunshine and Galaxy 2 all 100%.
It'd be the ultimate test but super fun regardless
I’m gonna miss you and your daily streams on TikTok. It was my perfect lunch break
Not a Speedrun recommendation but a game one, Super Mario 64 DS. I really dig this game, haven't finished it but it has some cool content
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 hahahahaha Nice!!!! Even with the deaths clutched it!!! Congratulations!!! Thanks for sharing your accomplishment!

YEAAAAAAAA BABYYYYY!! THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I saw this already on your other channel, but I'll watch it again for ya 😉👍
I would love to see you try out VVVVVV. It's a relatively-short game, but it has some really fun platforming.
VVVVVV is amazing
I think you would absolutely love Secret of Mana for Super Nintendo
This and Mario 3 are my favorite games of all times
I remember playing this this on an emulator with no joystick, only arrows. It was hell becaue the camera wouldn’t cooperate and I often couldn’t walk straight on narrow floors. Completed the game but low-key hated it.
I follow you on TikTok also and because of that I come across a lotttt of BAD speed runners. You are so good keep it up! I’d love to see you speed run Minecraft lol. Like faze sizzors is really good
SMB and SM64 probably the game that have highest speedrun efficiency. You breaking a new record by doing it 0.01 sec faster.
Ryukahr green demon challenge? 😳
You should bring back the ryuvenge that was one of my favorite series and I wonder how you would do against whatever levels you never beat
Glad to see I’m not the only who does the rolling log long jump
21:52 - One of the most infuriating things in SM64, lag frames. Just facing the penguin there lost you a few seconds. Dude I was watching this stream but I fell asleep half way through the run. I'm so sad I was not there to see this finally happen
He finally did it!
You did a great job 🎉
Give "Snake Rattle 'n' Roll" to NES a go. Decently difficult game by Rare. I never beat the final boss a kid. It is great fun though and has some speed run strategies in it even (e.g. rushing to find rockets etc.).
I would love to see you come back to celeste and speedrun it!
I think it’d be dope if you did a Super Metroid run. It’s in your wheelhouse being a side scrolling platform
Honestly my favorite game of all time is zelda the windwaker and I think it would be awesome to see you speed run it if your interested 😁
I would love to see some Odyssey Speedruns
Nice job man
