I've had my Sodastream for at least eight years. Although I'm not as heavy a user (a canister lasts me maybe three months) I truly love it. I mostly use powdered single flavor packages but only half to a third of a package, The A&W rootbeer is exceptionally good. The only problem I've had with my machine was about five years ago. I described the problem to the company's customer service rep who sent me a new rubber washer (and a spare!) that corrected the problem.
i remember when i first tried this thing after i brought it home. I put on the bottle wrong and splashed water all over my counter. I remember very well since this was 5 minutes ago and i'm still cleaning the spill 😆
I don’t feel like going through every sub-thread. Can someone tell me if discussion of the boycott has been allowed, or do those threads generally get deleted?
Mine has quite literally saved my life. I hit 163KG last year amidst the pandemic. I would drink a 2 litre bottle of "diet" coke a day, among other things that were seriously bad for me. I went to a personal trainer who put me on a diet - I stumbled upon a SodaStream in my supermarket that day that was 50% off, and took the plunge. Now I have the diet cola instead and it's helped me lose 17kg in the last year. Never going back to normal cola.
Check out Dr. Shawn Baker too. True health, not merely weight loss. Also, vegetable oil is utterly toxic garbage. Ditch it for coconut oil or something of the sort.
I just bought the Fizzy SodaStream as a replacement for an older model which was malfunctioning. At first I thought the problem was the cannisters. It seemed as though I wasn't getting the needed pressure required for a good blast. I'd depress the button and the blast sometimes was more of wheeze as though the cannister was running low. It also blew small white chunks into the water which then dissolved within a minute or so. A new replacement cannister did the same thing. I could get the "deep sound" three times which should have indicated a fill...but the water was still flat. I just tried the new machine (which doesn't make that deep sound the older models used to) with the cannister from the older machine and it worked beautifully. I like to put a little stevia in the bottom of my glass and add a tsp of 100% pure organic lemon juice (Santa Cruz) then fill up the glass with soda water - very refreshing!
@@DmonHiro Let’s see... leaking while carbonating, still being flat after carbonation, unresponsive buttons, loose sealer washer, and then finally the soda stream product stops working altogether

Which model did you get? And have you tried replacing the canister at the back or at least reinstalling it? The carbonated water you get should be on part with canned soda/seltzer in terms of the level or carbonation of you use the highest carbonation setting.
@@6MonthsLater Thanks for the feedback, but there is no setting on the carbonator. The instructions merely say to press the pump to the desired level of carbonation. Pressing the pump just seems to allow gas to escape through the inlet jet without additional carbonation.
I have 2 questions: 1) the fizz dissipates before I finish the bottle (I'm mixing it with juice) so can I re-carbonate water that has already been carbonated once? and 2) I'm carbonating 2 bottles/week using 5 "pushes" on the Sodastrream for maximum fizz...about how long will a canister last?
3-4 weeks I’d guess on each canister at that rate. You can re-carbonize it but the water needs to be at the fill line in the bottle. Hope that helps! - Josh
You say it's more convenient than having 'cans laying around' but then go on to mention having to buy syrup or extract, plus refilling CO2 canisters, plus buying juicers, plus posting or driving to do that. It's a lot more of a PITA than most people expect. Of course you love it, you have referral links.
Can you compare your cost per quart with the cost per quart of store brand and national brand seltzer cans. I believe this ends up being more expensive that your typical store brand which sells a 12-pack for about $2.50-$3. But that math is based on what I have heard family tell me as I don't have one myself.
It depends on the brand you get. Buble might cost you a lot, but if you get the large 36oz or more bottles they are about $1 a pop (Bubly cans are 12 oz).
How do you keep it cold??? Is it made to stay in a Fridge and if so how long does it last before it goes flat, then can you re " fizz " it again or do you have to throw that batch out???
reading online u can refill canisters on your own.. amazon also sells adapters to use full size co2 tanks like restaurants use for their fountain drink machines
so how "fizzy" does the water get? it does not look very bubbly after being carbonated. Can you advise on the comparison with store bought fizzy water?
Just curious, you mentioned you had a CO2 canister that was leaking. Can you describe what it did? During covid my local store was out of canisters for almost a year. When they finally got them back in I got 2 and both of them didn’t work properly, and I’m guessing maybe they were both leaking? The CO2 canister got extremely cold to the touch when I tried to run it. Does that sound like a leak?
Not sure, the canister being cold when used makes sense since you’re releasing compressed gas out of it, so I wouldn’t take that on its own to mean you have a leak. Ours made a slow hissing sound and went flat after a few hours. Or I’ve also had one that when you use the machine the noise it makes is much louder and sounds like a lot of extra CO2 is escaping from the connector. - Josh
how long does the drink stay carbonated for? how does the soda flavoring taste? where do you insert the flavorings into the machine or before or after?
Several days if refrigerated in my experience. You’d insert any flavors after carbonation I’d guess but I don’t have much experience with flavors outside of freshly squeezed lemons or limes - Josh

I drink a large bottle of soda water every day, drink tap water too. I think I might try a starter package. Which one is better the manual version or the electric? I saw one with 3 levels of carbonation! Is that necessary?
I personally like the electric one but I don’t think it matters all that much, both should carbonate your water fine. The electric will just give you the same level of carbonation every time - Josh
I sometimes (often) think that the CO2 cannisters are just air. Although I have had decent results on occasion, most of the time it does not really carbonate the water beyond a light fizz that will be gone within a couple of hours.

3:43 and THAT'S what I'm here for. I don't wanna continue to buy into a service. It's like slavery...😢 When i pay for something i don't wanna replace it until it's broken. Sodastream is a endless cycle where you'll be supporting them and hooked for the rest of ur life. No thank you. At least whenever i DO decide to have a Pepsi, i can buy the next bottle whenever i want without feeling like I'm missing something or having a machine take up space and collect dust. 😂
If you drink flavored carbonated beverages like cola then the soda stream wont save you money when compared to buying 2L bottles, off brand canned cola, or a good sale. Just if you're looking to save money you'll need to examine what you drink and how much or may not save money at all.
Yeah, that was the main reason I was looking into buying one. But the cost of owning a machine vs buying the drinks are not beneficial. I'll continue to buy the drinks instead of having something else take up space on my counter and having to subscribe to buying canisters.
I had a soda stream for years after they were first popular. There are a couple issues I have that led me to get rid of it. First, once the popularity waned it became harder and harder to get the syrups I wanted in stores. Sure, there's Amazon but I can't use a coupon on Amazon to bring the price down. Which leads to the second issue - you aren't likely saving any money using this thing. Unless you go with a really light carbonation, the price per ounce for just carbonated water is more than just buying seltzer water in the store. And it's even more if you are purchasing the flavoring to add in. At best, it's a wash. I did most of my purchases and exchanges at Bed Bath and Beyond because they would allow the use of their 20% coupons, which brought it in line with cans of soda. But... The third issue is that it's inconvenient to exchange the CO2 canisters. I bought an extra so that I was never out at any given time but I still had to go someplace other than the grocery store to exchange the canister. So I'm spending more money per ounce just because I have to go out of my way to exchange this thing. And I probably can't use a coupon for exchanging it via the mail so the second issue comes into play. Finally, I used their Diet Coke syrup and sometimes it tasted soapy. Maybe they fixed that now but that's how it was back then.
Recently I just started buying the syrups, been using them for flavored water without the carbonation. Basically a flat cola. Gotta say that I actually don't mind it, but then again flat cola doesn't really bother me. Add some ice and keep the drink cold, and it's barely noticeable for me.
Sounds like you just had a bad experience rather than a bad product. Not everyone is gonna care about flavors. #2, not everyone is gonna care about flavors. And #3 sounds like you just had a bad timing issue with the running out-exchange canisters ordeal. 🤷🏻♂️
Man, I got mine just today. It is an e Terra model. I pressed 3 times the maximum level, and I do see bubbles. But when I serve it, bubbles are gone! It tastes like sparkling water yet... Without bubbles... So that suxxx for sure. I am thinking to send it back because that was not the intention. It is not the same as bottles sparkling water at least for me. I am hoping it is an issue with the device. But seems like it is not.
and what happen when your soda bottle explode? it is dangerous or do it break the sodastream ? otherwise why not waiting that it break before buying remplacment bottle.
We have had a Sodastream device in the mid 1990s, but it died back in the days. We never looked back at it, until a couple of years ago. Since I first bought my own one in 2021, I've started using a newer one (which is already 6 years old). Can't live without it either, because I like my sparkled water being sparkled, not 'lit up with bubbles'. I was looking into the Sodastream DUO, but prices went up last month. So I will probably get the TERRA, since it's quite lownoise (my SPRING is extremely loud).
i feel like the sodastream releases too much carbon. i can only use the lowest setting and it is still too much for me. is it possible somehow to reduce the released amount or can you help me otherwise. thanks in advance
Not one the one touch, but potentially on the munaul model. Or just mix some flat water and caronated water together when your pour into your drinking container to get less carbonation.
Parabéns pelo seu documentário sobre o assunto. Observando a garrafa que você comprou para reabastecer as suas garrafas eu comecei a pensar, não existe no mercado válvulas que possa substituir o aparelho que receber as garrafas?
Filtered tap, though depending on where you live/water quality that may not be advisable. Reverse osmosis water filtration should give you a pretty clean result if using tap.
I noticed carbonated water brands have different flavors-I only enjoy drinking topo Chico. How would you say the flavor of the carbonated water you get from your sodastream stacks up?
One of the pro's you don't mention is making it yourself means it contains water and CO2, most super market contain a lot of salt and other unwanted additives.
I agree with this. I actually get headaches from bought mineral water. I don’t know why exactly, I’m thinking it’s salt or other additives…..that’s why I’ve got a Sodastream..
I bought one. I don't think it's does much, can barely feel the difference even after using a ton of co2. I tried with Gatorade, Powerade can't even feel the bubble sensation although it does make you burp. Never like a true soda like coca cola or sprite.
Thanks sodastream for the invention. And thanks MORE to UA-cam for allowing ppl showing how to refill their own co2 canisters. Now it costs me $1 instead of $15 for a full canister!
I'd reccomend taking up coffee. It'll get you the caffeine boost and you can slowly decrease the amount of sugar you use in coffee to the point where you add none in. The soda stream can be used throughout the rest of the day to simulate that mouth feel. Or...you might be able to find straight caffeine to add into your bubbly water like what Coke and others are doing and you won't have to deal with a sugar carb crash if you go that route. - Josh

Just got ours today. Came with Pepsi Max and Zero Lime Mix. Both are terrible tasting. Gas the water 5 tines as recommended and it's nowhere near like store Purchased Sodas. If the CO2 canister lasts 2 weeks the whole unit will end up in the Bin. So far on Day one I rate the product 4/10. Not great. PS: I'm not a fan or Bubbled Water.
It's very interesting product but unfortunately I'm living on the another end of the world so it will be a little bit to deliver it to me. I'll try to find something like that in my region. Thanks for review!
That's the BS for me, the co2 canister. I thought it took co2 cartridges like air guns but they make you buy their product, like those stupid microwave meals that you can't put in your microwave, they only use theirs...I hate that
Not even close to economical, unfortunately. The gas is far more expensive than the products. And the hassle is more than people expect. I have no idea why anyone would ever recommend this unless they had a financial incentive.

It's hard for me to beat the convenience of a can in the fridge.
Can you store these pre carbonated so it's more like grab and go?
I just got 1. Did my 1st bottle. Pressed 5 times twice. It is not fizzy. Any issues?
Which model did you get?
Is there a cheaper version or option for the canisters
You can refill them yourself or buy the able that allows you to attach a massive co2 tank
I got mine a few months ago. Worked great at first, now it's making a strange hiss as if air is escaping straight after carbonating. And it's only staying fizzy for about 48 hours. Is this normal?
If it's taking you 2 days to consume one liter of water, you should really speak to a doctor.
Maybe they fixed that now but that's how it was back then.
same reason i dont bought one...The CO2 canisters is to exspensive
Recently I just started buying the syrups, been using them for flavored water without the carbonation. Basically a flat cola.
Gotta say that I actually don't mind it, but then again flat cola doesn't really bother me. Add some ice and keep the drink cold, and it's barely noticeable for me.
Sounds like you just had a bad experience rather than a bad product. Not everyone is gonna care about flavors. #2, not everyone is gonna care about flavors. And #3 sounds like you just had a bad timing issue with the running out-exchange canisters ordeal. 🤷🏻♂️
I just got one a few days ago been using it every day it works pretty good
Just ordered mine on their website. With the big bundle with the Art and 20 percent off it's like getting the Art for $35.
I have added a cylinder adapter and use 10lb co2 cylinders
There expensive
Theres much savings in buying in bulk
Do you have a video on the different flavors you add and your recommendations?
Man how underrated this channel! Just found out today and lost myself in those playlists. Keep the great work man! 🙏🏻
Thank you!
Is there an adapter that is made that you could hook a 10 lb CO2 tank up to
5 puffs of gas don't give a strong fizz. I'm finding 9 or 10 is needed. Is there something wrong with my machine?
I prefer the original design with small glass bottles, you only gas what you need.
Hi so is you like flavored is it sweetened flavored or just flavored I liked the sweeten flavored syrup do they make one? Thank You Charles
Parabéns pelo seu documentário sobre o assunto. Observando a garrafa que você comprou para reabastecer as suas garrafas eu comecei a pensar, não existe no mercado válvulas que possa substituir o aparelho que receber as garrafas?
I can buy 28litres of pop or diet pop or carbon water for the price of one refil 😮
What water do you use for it
Filtered tap, though depending on where you live/water quality that may not be advisable. Reverse osmosis water filtration should give you a pretty clean result if using tap.
Bubbly flint Michigan public water
Been using Sodastream here is South Africa for 30+ years.
I noticed carbonated water brands have different flavors-I only enjoy drinking topo Chico. How would you say the flavor of the carbonated water you get from your sodastream stacks up?
It's been a while since I've had topo chico, but in general the caronated plain water tastes good to me. - Josh
I bought 2 six months ago no issues. The grapefruit natural flavor is a great one.
How can I get it
Review has affiliate links.. Not unbiased review.... Its an Advertisement.
I don’t even need flavor. The natural fizz is so good.
Very helpful, thank you for the video.
I bought one. I don't think it's does much, can barely feel the difference even after using a ton of co2. I tried with Gatorade, Powerade can't even feel the bubble sensation although it does make you burp. Never like a true soda like coca cola or sprite.
I drink 1L per day and I still didn't run out of the first canister since 8 weeks, I don't get it really lol
Thanks sodastream for the invention. And thanks MORE to UA-cam for allowing ppl showing how to refill their own co2 canisters. Now it costs me $1 instead of $15 for a full canister!
I gotsta get my own bigger CO2 tank for my Fizzi...
Make sure its food grade co2
The gas leaked out if mine or I received an almost empty canister. I was bummed
I got a sodastream a few days ago and im very hooked on Pepsi. Its the caffeine. Im looking for a low sugar drink with caffeine
- Josh
You didn’t do a cost per drink comparison
Guys, we are contributing to global warming with the soda stream. Consider swapping CO2 for the much more environmentally friendly CO. Thanks!
Pricier than I thought.
flavored seltzers are like .99- $1.29 a bottle at the supermarket. this is not worth the time & $$$
yeah, it's not a money-saver but less work than having too carry bottles from/to supermarket.
How many fizzing s does the rig give per canister? or HOW MUCH PER USE with #1 button and standard soda stream gear?
Great video and great information
I drink sam's cola for 98 cent 2 liter bottle. At 120+ the ongoing refills+the spare, it'll take a long time to pay off the soda stream
so no one knows that instead of Sodastream, you can put any flavourful non carbonated drinks by mixing with sprites?
I do not like the taste of carbonated water without flavor. You have sold me
His carts in the beginning of the video look like mine, except mine are full of diet coke 2 liters when they're on sale. Yes I know I need to stop that's why I'm here lol
Just because you use water, it’s not combated. Water is soda because after you put the thing in the machine and carbonated, it’s no longer water.
I am officially weirded out because I live in Cary.
It's very interesting product but unfortunately I'm living on the another end of the world so it will be a little bit to deliver it to me. I'll try to find something like that in my region. Thanks for review!
Can you fix flat coke with this machine?
Sodastream Equipment + C02 Cans + Flavors = EXPENSIVE. And to justify the purchase by reducing the times we recycle is Absurd.
Does anyone have a referral code?
That's the BS for me, the co2 canister. I thought it took co2 cartridges like air guns but they make you buy their product, like those stupid microwave meals that you can't put in your microwave, they only use theirs...I hate that
Sounds goo, just too expensive with all the extra stuff.
I'll just continue to buy "Spindrift" on sale when available. It's only $5.99 for an 8pk. On sale it's a dollar cheaper per pk.
Carbonated good host iced tea sounds pretty nice, thinking about it.
Not even close to economical, unfortunately. The gas is far more expensive than the products. And the hassle is more than people expect. I have no idea why anyone would ever recommend this unless they had a financial incentive.
What about the burps?
Much more expensive than buying carbonated water in plastic bottles.
Best scam ever.
$30/month?! That seems unreasonably expensive
Yes! Yes one is taking my kids from me!
I tried La Croix, absolutely hated it. I’m a cola junky
How funny this was made 6 montsh ago
Carbonated water and really fun are words you will never hear again in the same sentence...............ever. I wish carbonated water was mentioned a little more, I'm confused, what was he talking about again?
An almost six minute commercial for Sodastream.
Its not a review, its advertising.
HELLO!!!
Thx for the feedback, what about our experience with the product were you expecting us to cover that we didn’t?
Yeah this is clearly a paid ad
Anyone realize you don't taste sparkling water in your mouth, it's more in the nose
