I like the way you made the channel for the outside edge of the footring. I often have trouble getting the footring even if the outside of the thrown bowl is funky. I am going to try that next time.
I just started learning how to throw clay on the wheel last week in my sculpture and ceramics class at school, so I've been looking for resources on UA-cam to improve and your videos hit the spot! I love how calm you are with the clay and your positive vibes make me feel at ease 😌😌 thank you for the content!
Hey, thanks for the video! I've really enjoyed everything you've posted. I have limited hours each month at the studio where I'm a member and I've yet to find the right time interval between scheduled hours where my pieces will be leather hard. I wind up trimming when they're still too soft or they're well past leather hard. I'm looking forward to the day the clay flies off in ribbons like it does for you!
Oh that’s so hard, it’s so frustrating. I would maybe suggest draping plastic over your work and coming in like 2-3 days later and see if the slower drying can help 🤍
Nice, I hope it works for you! It may need some practice - too much or too little water and it won’t work, too wet or too dry clay it won’t work either. You’ll get the hang of it but I swear by it!
Hey lilly, You may have mentioned this in a past video but what kind of wheel do you use? I'm looking to invest in one right now and yours seems to respond so well!
This was so great to watch and learn, I've been watching heaps on throwing larger bowls and practicing! Your teaching was so clear and really useful! So so appreciate that! Could you please tell me the dimensions of the bowls after they have been fired and glazed. I'm trying to learn how much clay to use to the dimension I want, with taking shrinkage into account. 😊
Could you cut it off the wheel instead? Holding it that way made me so nervous 😬 May I say, you are an amazing artist. It was incredible to watch you transform this bowl into art.

Enjoy the process - it takes a while to get the hang of it but there’s nothing more satisfying than when you get it. 🥰
This is so cool to watch! It made me appreciate the work and skill that go into making pottery
As a left handed potter myself it’s so great to watch you throw. 😊
Thank you, As a learner, I find your real time demonstration and explanations very helpful.
It’s so calming watching you do these beautiful art pieces and listen to your voice!
Thank you! ❤
Thanks for the video, lovely bowl. I’m self taught and a leftie too so I let out a little ‘whoop’ when you were trimming with your left hand!
Best trimming video, thank you
I love these bowls and cant wait to see how they look glazed. I wish I could get them here in Australia
Yep. Thank you 😊
You're content is lovely, love how the bowl came out, you're also very pretty!
keep up the good work ❤️
🥰 tysm!
Just found your channel and love it 💗

thank you - I am happy to make bowls
I'm going to try your method of attaching the bowl to the wheel. I'm sick of always distorting my pieces with the lugs of clay.

@@MaeCeramics I suppose I'll wreck a few pieces while I learn. Thanks.

You're welcome, glad you got so much out of this. From my memory it's approx 20cm wide by 11cm ish high.
It would be nice to see the final product being put to use ♥️
What type of wheel do you use? Do you recommend it?
I’ve got a Rohde wheel, I love it! Best wheel I’ve used.
You should steam this
hey, you're content is awesome and satisfying
don't you mind adding some quiet music?
You know what, I purposely didn’t add music to this vid to see what people preferred! Thank you for the feedback, I think I’ll add it next time.

Thanks!! Im trying this today
