@@rev3rbjunkie48 it will not, but you lose a little of functionality/data. All you need to is “!songname off” and that’ll prevent it from showing
@@Mustached_Maniac So far i havent found a way to disable this without turning off autorunner, but have discovered disabling autorunner broke a lot of functionality. Any other work arounds? **EDIT** so there was a single command I had disabled (Display Songs in chat) that prevented that text command from working. Ironically i disabled this thinking it would make the songs stop showing in chat. keep the chat commands enabled yall! I re enabled it and the chat command works. Just in case anyone else had the same problem.
Just sent you the update in a Discord DM....the bug has been found and SQUASHED! !songname off will stop them from showing up (for future reference)

Is there add channel point interactions with this? Also THANK YOU SO MUCH, I’ve been trying to find a decent way to add Spotify music commands to my twitch streams that isn’t songify and this was just amazing.

For some strange reason, my Client ID and Client Secret didn't want to work, so I rotated the secret for a new one in Spotify, and after putting the new one in the Initialization sub action, it worked! If anyone was having that same issue. IDK it probably was just an idiot user error. Anyhow, thanks dude, you're the tits!
May have copied an extra space or something weird in there. Glad you got it working though! Little tweaks I dropped yesterday were actually game changers!
Thanks again for dropping in today and showing me this... I've got everything downloaded, imported, authorized but the commands aren't working when I type them in chat. When I test the commands in SB it works, but actually using them doesn't for some reason. I'm running SB 0.2.3
You need to make sure that you either restart SB, or right-click and test the trigger on the Spotify Auto Runner (that’ll get it going since it’s set start on SB opening)
Also need to verify you enabled all of them too!
@@Mustached_Maniac everything is enabled, autorunner is running, restarted spotify and SB multiple times and even restarted my PC. I'm sure it's user error on my part, I just can't figure out what it is.
Double click on the “Execute Code” sub action in both Auto Runner and Spotify Controls. Press the little “Find References” Button at the bottom, then Press “Save and Compile”.
Did you get everything up and running? I dropped an update yesterday that fixed a couple minor bugs...but I don't think it relates to the hiccups you ran into!
AMAZING! but i have one concern... is there a way to use song request via "Channel Points?" because I just know Non followers will abuse and spam the controls or request the same song over and over again. Can we use channel points to limit how many times people can request a song?
Yes you may! Create a reward in SB and check the “requires user input” box, then in the action you select Execute C# Method and select the song requests one!
Haven't downloaded the new one. But one feature I added to your extension was adding a requested song to a specific playlist. Is this something you would be willing to include in the extension?
Not sure what you mean by the “new one”? My first Spotify video was done with an extension that somebody else made. This extension (MM v1000) is made by me and DOES include the ability to add songs to selected playlists. You’d have to use !playlist, then !playlist # to select the correct one/store it. Whenever a song comes up that you want to keep just use !addSong and it’ll store it in your previously selected playlist 🤘🏻

thanks for the tutorial sir. i was using the tinyspotSB string before. now i'm trying to using the MM version. but i facing an issue while i set it. everytime i do the !spotifyinit, i didn't get the pop out window to authorize it. what should i do? thx!
First Off-make sure you’ve removed all tinyspot actions and commands! Secondly, ensure under the “commands” tab that you enable the entire group of MM Spotify commands. Lastly, open up the code by double-clicking the “Execute Code” sub action in Auto Runner, Initialization, and Controls, and press “Compile” then “Save and Compile”…after that, as long as Spotify App is up and running-you should be good to go!

Do you have multiple triggers on the auto runner command? If you want to use channel points for the request then just make the redeem in SB (ensure you check the box to “require user input”)…then set that as the trigger for the song request action! (Right click and disable the command trigger if you no longer want to use that)

Sure, instead of using the !sr command, make a channel point redeem called "song request" or whatever you'd like. (make sure you check the box that requires user input!). Set that channel point as your new trigger for the "Song Request" action and Voila!

If you mean using channel point redeem for song request, then yes. Go to that action and disable the “!sr” command trigger. Then add a new trigger for Channel Point, click “create new”, and most importantly, ensure you check the box that says “require user input”!

@@devosmind One snag I ran in to... When you pull up the chat window in Streamer bot > go to the chat settings (cog wheel) > Platforms menu > make sure the option "use twitch bot" is not toggled on. For some reason the command will not work otherwise. @mustatched_maniac After the setup and the doing the !spotifyinit, I cannot seem to get the commands to actually function the way they are supposed to in the chat.
Is there a command for removing a song if the wrong one is added? Also is there a way to set a limit on how many songs a chatter can add? Great work btw
I currently haven’t included a way to do the first one. The second part, you could add a user counter with an if/else so if it’s greater then whatever number, it just breaks and doesn’t carry out the command
how can i diable commands like skip pause and play so i dont just have viewers messing with those
well those are set to 'Moderators Only' by default so viewers can't do that...but if you don't want to use them at all then just go to the 'Commands' tab of SB and Right-Click the command then uncheck the 'Enable' line.
Hi, my message seems to have disappeared, but I have installed this and the basics are working great. Song requests are going through and I can play, pause etc. However the command !song does not seem to work, it return the message: StreamElements: @XXXX failed to get the current song. Also the !last command seems to be only updating periodically, for example if I enter "!last 3" it shows 3 songs that played about 20 mins ago. Any advice appreciated.
Make sure you go to StreamElements site and disable song requests there and then close out and re-open SB!
Heyo! Question for ya...
I'm trying to run the Volume adjustment directly with Core - Actions - Run Action. I enabled "Set argument %volPercent% to 'xyz'" (in my case, it's 65) in the Volume Up/Down action... but when I run it like that (as a subaction), it sends back an error saying "Invalid input. Please provide a valid number between 0-100 for volume adjustment.". But when I test the action directly with a trigger, it works perfectly. I'm so lost haha, any help is appreciated!
Don’t run the action that way…just copy the argument and method into your action and give that a whirl!
@@Mustached_Maniac I actually tried that, as well 😂 I tried to do it direct like that and it still gives me the error code. But when I do a test trigger, it works. It's like... what. Hahaha. Hey, quick question: Can you add a method that just saves the current Volume to a variable? I'd like to change the volume to zero and change it back alter to the variable, so i'd need that value
There’s already a non-persisted global stored (I think it’s spotifyVolume if I remember correctly)…you could just do a get global subaction and store that as oldSpotifyVolume or something, run your action, and then set the volume to that 🤘🏻
there a multi stream version of this or can we make this a multi stream version easy?
I did not make this multistream compatible for several reasons. 1-YT automatically nukes your stream when they detect copyrighted stuff playing. 2-I don’t use any of the other officially supported platforms on SB.
Since a lot of the commands rely on user input, it would not be an easy task to convert either.
@@Mustached_Maniac i get it, and thats why i dont click monetized when i play music on streams. Cuz it's just a stream, no one really re-watches streams for ad rev... so having this would be awesome for people who just want to listen and song request.. maybe someone will do it soon for multistream.
Is it possible to user Logic if/else function with this extension? I try to figured out but i think the Bot can find the variable "spotifyPlaying"
What’s the end goal. spotifyPlaying already populates as a non persisted global
@Mustached_Maniac My goal is to pause the Music from Spotify when a Bit-Alert is triggered. This works perfectly fine without an If/Else Function.
The Thing is: In some streams I dont use Music so I cant use the same trigger Function. Sorry my English is very bad 😂. I hope you know what i mean
@@marthom91 so the spotifyPlaying variable only populates as long you press play one time on the player. If you do that and then close out of Spotify you can use a “Get Global” subaction and uncheck the “persisted” box then type spotifyPlaying in the first 2 boxes and leave the last one blank…your if/else statement would be if “spotifyPlaying” equals “true” do “nothing” then “continue” else do “nothing” then “break”….below that sub action would be the pause method

Sure is…use the command “!songName off” and it won’t do that. Viewers can still view the current song with “!song” if that’s turned off

@@5tanden then you have to ensure you enabled the command and that “Spotify Auto Runner” is showing under your “Pending Actions” tab. If it isn’t, just close and reopen SB then give it a try
Great video and super helpful. It's exactly what I wanted. Is there any way to prevent the bot giving the name of the song in chat? If I skip through a few songs, the spams all the titles and artists, which clutters the chat.

@@Eriatha I released an update yesterday…but that won’t impact the “!songName off” or “!songName on”…you may be best reinstalling though, maybe it didn’t grab an accurate scope?!

okay i fixed it lol. I disabled the "Current Song" Action and Command beforehand, because i thought that will disable it. I had to reenable it, so the !songName off command works. @Eriatha this might also be the fix for you :)

Kind of disappointed that once I added it my Amuse widget visualiser for spotify stopped working :( It was really clean with displaying album cover art and artist on screen. Song requests definitely trumps having that tho. Just wished it worked in conjunction.

Myself and other streamers have noticed this issue with other now playing widgets. Its a really weird issue and I'm unsure how to handle it.

I didn't have my app running and I got the message that I need to run it but after opening the app. No commands would run. I did the Init again and I can never get the success msg. *Help*

@@Mustached_ManiacI managed to get it installed and it worked for about ten minutes but that's it. Trying to figure out what happened. The only thing that comes up is when the song changes. The other commands don't work. I'm on the latest beta version of streamerbot. Appreciate the help! This was awesome and fun to install

Hi, very nice video! Thanks for that. I only have one issue. When I type !pause I get the response that Spotify is already paused but the song keeps playing. Any solution for this? EDIT: It worked after restarting Streamerbot ;-)

If you are, you need to make sure you’ve updated the references manually…additionally, check the “keep instance alive” box inside the code for Spotify Controls and Auto Runner…then press “save and compile” and close/reopen SB!

If you haven’t restarted SB since you installed the extension, you need to do that…OR right-click on the trigger for the auto runner and press “Test” to get it going

you need to login to Twitch again on SB. Do you have a bot account, if so, make sure they're logged in as well!

Yes you can-you’d have to change the trigger to CP redeem though and get creative if you wanted it to stop after every requested song

Check and see if you accidentally copied a space into your API key. Also, verify that Spotify auto runner is showing in your “Pending Actions” please

Hello MM - Are you/anyone in the community available for troubleshooting? I've completed set up using v1000.1 (saw your comment), and I am having an issue where upon launching streamer.bot, I put !play/!pause/!skip commands in chat, and *only the first* command works. The subsequent commands show up Pending and then Completed in the Queues, but nothing happens with Spotify. In order to allow commands to work again, I have to close and reload streamer.bot. 😢 Have you run into this?
Actually a SUPER EASY fix for this! Go into the "Spotify Auto Runner" and "Spotify Controls" Execute Code subactions. Once you open them up, click the small "settings" tab and check the box to "Keep this instance alive"...do that on both, then press "Save" on SB and close/reopen and you're good to go!!
