    This is good so far, but it's the same shoutout regardless of being a team member or not.
    What I want is separate alerts for team members and generic shouts.
    I have graphics that get shown and are custom for the team I'm in
    where those not in the team have a generic shoutout
    so that and chat messages need to be 2 different.
    but not by having separate commands
    if in team use team shoutout....
    if not in team use generic shoutout

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta  6 місяців тому +1

      Here you are running into a limitation of Streamer.Bot because - unless you are coding it yourself - it is not a big fan of forking and loops. So, the best way I can come up with for you to do this is to have two actions:
      1) The first action is "Team Shoutout" and in this one it has the graphic and the different text as the shoutout command.
      2) The second action is "General Shoutout" and in this one it has the general shoutout.
      Now, in your "Command"-action (so the one you use to trigger the shoutout) you add two If/Else statements:
      1) If team0 = [TEAMNAME] do "Team Shoutout" then Break, else do nothing and continue
      2) If team1 = [TEAMNAME] do "Team Shoutout" then Break, else do nothing and continue
      and finish it off with a "Run Action" for the "General Shoutout" action.
      What this does is check if the person belongs to your team. If they do, it does the team shoutout and stops there, otherwise it will do the General Shoutout.
      Hope that helps!

      If you only want them for incoming raids that is a way you can go, however that won't automatically shout out people in chat like Stream Team members or other friends that stream.

      If you just want a manual shout-out, then type "/shoutout [username]" in Twitch Chat. If you want to automate it so raiders automatically get shouted out, then that is in the video

  • @mystixa
    @mystixa 5 місяців тому

    This is not good advice. Shouting out is great when someone is doing it because they are doing it personally. If its the streamer great! If its a mod somewhat less great, but still official recognition. If you have audience members do it.. its a toss up. But all the above is better than just having auto bot-spam which people ignore, and reduces your opportunity as a streamer to connect with the person that came in to your stream. This is a prime networking opportunity, don't waste it.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta  5 місяців тому +2

      Hey Mystixa! I fully agree that when other streamers come into your stream you have a prime networking opportunity (as much as I hate the phrase networking). It is important, especially on a platform like Twitch, that you take that chance to get to know one another and perhaps you can even strike up a friendship. However, I think you have misunderstood the premise of the Auto Shoutout. Let's get the simple stuff out of the way first: I don't think anyone but the streamer and mods should be doing shoutouts, but more importantly: This is not just auto bot-spam and I will try and explain why:
      1) I specifically explain in the video how to set up a list of people you have "pre-vetted" so that the only auto shoutouts that are happening are people who are on your team (who I really hope you know) and people who you have added manually. Personally, this is a way to reduce my reliance on mods being there right that second or needing to alt-tab and interrupt the flow of the content I am creating.
      2) Perhaps more importantly: Just doing "!so [username]" does not a shoutout make. When a shoutout happens, I will always follow it up with me vocally shouting people out: I specifically call out their name, say a few words about them, and suggest my viewers check them out or follow them as well. Shouting Out only works if it has a personal touch, but that personal touch does not need to be me writing the actual command.
      As with all of these tools: I can show you how to set them up, I can make sure you can use them, but I can't guarantee that others use them correctly.

    • @mystixa
      @mystixa 5 місяців тому

      @@ContentDelta A good reply thank you! But I do disagree. It is just auto bot spam, even with the white list. Presumably those people are often in your channel since they are vetted enough to have customized lines in your whitelist so its serves very little purpose.
      As far as 'interrupting your flow'? If it interrupts your flow as a streaming gamer , or DJ, or chatter to take a moment and greet someone whos raided you thats a problem with your flow.
      If one has already called them out vocally and all the rest.. well we've just gone to a lot of work to set something up with the excuse that it saves 'interrupting the flow' .
      This kind of automation is just a bad direction to go in as its either completely redundant or communicates that someone's support isn't even worth an alt/tab.

      I value your opinion, and I think this is a fair one to have even if I don't share it. I just want to highlight this is not just for raiders, but even for that purpose: I absolutely appreciate every raid, no matter the viewer numbers or person, but if I can just switch to their raid immediately and talk to them instead of going "Oh wait, let me just..." - For me that is a positive because my focus can be fully on them.
      However, I do think we are looking at the shoutout in different ways. As I understand it, you seem to value the shoutout (the command itself ) as a form of recognition, while I see it as a tool to make it easier for other people to follow the raider. For me the thing I do on stream, the chatting and the hype related to the raid, is the recognition.

      @@ContentDelta " I do think we are looking at the shoutout in different ways." Yes true, we are seeing it from different sides. I suppose Ive seen this kind of automation lead to apathy toward interaction because the bot will take care of that part. Slowly that devolves. Where having to take a moment to initiate the whole thing keeps it clearly intentional.
      No worries.. thanks for taking the time to chat on this. :)

    Hi @Conten Delta, I'm new to Streamer.bot and having problems with the bot. When I use the the !so command it displays my username instead of the one I typed in. I noticed that you used a bot account for this code and when I imported your code I changed the Twitch message to Broadcaster as preferred account. Would this effect my problem? Thanks for the help!

      Hey Kitman, that should not be the problem. Can you make sure that the "User Info" is set to input and not User?
