    Mark Jackson gets so much hate and criticism but he was one of the people who believed in Curry and advocated for him to have the keys to the team. Jackson should be a head coach somewhere. It’s amazing what he did with the Warriors. Let’s not forget the trajectory they were on. I have no doubt that even without Kerr being there, they would have one the championship.

    • @dhruvadude808
      @dhruvadude808 9 місяців тому +2

      Not a chance. Jackson instilled a different mentality for sure, but lacked would never have unleashed Curry the way Kerr has.

    • @jayws9294
      @jayws9294 9 місяців тому

      @@dhruvadude808 I disagree. It was a natural progression. When a team is built and grown organically it takes time to mature. If the team wasn’t on a upward trajectory I think your claim would be valid.

      @@jayws9294 If Jackson was such a good coach, why hasn't he been hired by another team? Granted, he changed the culture of that team and I'm eternally grateful. The W's have been my team since the late 80's, from Run TMC thru the Cohen years - so I watched it happen. However, compare the unimaginative offense Jackson ran to the one Kerr put in. Jackson even favored Jarrett Jack in tight game situations over Curry and it drove me crazy.

    • @jayws9294
      @jayws9294 9 місяців тому

      @@dhruvadude808 Jarret was a solid combo guard for years. Plenty of teams wanted and needed his talents. But you’re asking a great question. Why is such an obviously talented winning coach not hired? His players loved him. He was a well-respected coach. And recently a respected TV Analyst. Please don’t forget that his Warriors team was winning and getting better every year. Politics and accusations were his downfall. He was not a “Yes Man” to the owners. They wanted high profile assistant coaches and Jackson wanted his own people. There were unsubstantiated rumors about homophobic remarks. Also he is a vocal Christian preacher. You put all that together and you have his coaching career. It doesn’t take much to put you on the outs. There are coaches who have won coaching awards and then they are fired. It happens.

      @@jayws9294 Jack didn't change the way the game is played nor has he ever been mentioned as one of the all-greats, even remotely. As for Jackson, do you actually believe he would've won a title that next year, won 73 games the year after, then two of the next three titles, adding yet another one a few years after that? It can never be proven of course, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

      @@vhengalunan2009 Scott Skiles would have been Steph's coach until 2013. He was a defense-first coach, Steph (at that time) was too small to guard effectively, and Skiles would have benched Steph if he took 30-footers. Brandon Jennings was a shoot-first PG (and bigger), so Steph would have been in the exact situation he was in with Monta Ellis. Steve Kerr (a long distance shooter) was the perfect coach for Steph. Also, Mark Jackson didn't have shit to do with Steph staying in Oakland. Besides the ankles issue, Monta was making 4x Steph's salary ($3M vs $11M) and Steph was simply cheaper to keep.
