Me too, for the quick access to front seat👍 but i cant carry 🇨🇦. Pocket shot and wasp spray plus sliding bolts on the inside of all my doors... but that doesn’t stop them breaking a window😳
@@caroljordan7205 You may not be able to carry a pistol (or handgun), but you certainly can carry a shotgun or rifle (in Canada). Heres a link about firearms in Canada (from the US) www.ezbordercrossing.com/the-inspection-experience/transporting-firearms/bringing-a-firearm-into-canada/
western bacon yes , I am aware but I shot a shotgun once😳😳😳💥killed my shoulder for a month😂🤣😂🤣. Thinkin I’d be more disadvataged than the induder😂🤣😂🤣. I was in my 20’s then, i’m 65 now🙂
I said just 2 days ago... I feel safer in my car by myself, than in a house or apt! Truly! So many people assume being in a house or apt is safer! NOT! My safety is #1 Probably my main reason for wanting to be in my car! Back in LA for a minute...😳
I want to live in a van n travel but have so many “what ifs”. So often your videos make me feel like I really could do it. Thank you! Really enjoy yours vids n stories!
What helped me make the decision to give up my apartment and go on the road was new neighbors who moved above me and didn't have a concept of time or quiet. Best thing they did for me.
I’ve never lived in a van. As a kid we did go camping a lot and that has always stayed with me. But living in a sticks and bricks building has advantages and disadvantages true. So does a van. But what I like about your vanlife is that you can have a different view everyday. That is amazing and truly rewarding.
One night I parked in a spot I used before but my dog would not go down, she kept quietly growling, I saw nothing, heard nothing and was irritated because was tired and wanted to just go to sleep. We moved to another spot and she bedded down right away. I'll never know what the deal was but I trust my dog's nose.
Being able to jump in the front is something that is very important to a lot of female van dwellers, and was important to me when deciding on my vehicle. Now, two years on, I’m pretty grateful I stuck to that. The little 4 window green bus isn’t very stealthy, but I can get in the driver’s seat pretty directly.
There's lots of places to pull out and boondock along Highway 16 and its gorgeous.... a little further west though you're in the rainforest again (and you know what that means) But it's gorgeous!
It’s hard to sleep with people being loud lol yes your van is awesome you can just leave! Your so inspiring and upbeat on whatever comes your way. Love to see that spirit in people. I’m really thinking of van life.
I've been broken into living in the city & in the country. I'm in Oklahoma, if someone starts breaking into my house I grab my shotgun & defend my home. It's not ideal, but it's what we do here. We don't have a lot of random break-ins though.
I’m buying a van this fall and plan to spend the next year building it out. As I'm a single female, safety is one of my biggest worries. Thank you for the reassurance. 😊
In South Africa you literally will get mugged or worse if you slept in your van on the street....really bad now. You guys still have law and order...we don't. Thanks for your videos...keeps us sane and entertained. 🍺🍺🇿🇦🇿🇦
I suspect Brazil would be the same. Hopefully not as bad as SA...but actually here kind of looks like SA. In the town centre every building has security guards; in the suburbs every house has a 10ft wall around it; and in the favelas/townships every window and every door has iron gurders.
I'm in bed early. I totally slept in my suv for thanksgiving (America's) It was so peaceful and I'm working on getting back out. The solar thing is my next purchase. I just bought a minivan and a lounge chair that i can sleep in. You van dwellers inspire me 😊
have always wanted a van but recently ive been hooked on the idea of a pickup with a topper.. been watching some videos that the gentleman travels in a 2011 toyota tundra with a topper. I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT TRUCK!! it can go anywhere. Now I just realized THATS GOING TO BE A NO!!!! i do not want to be climbing out to run to the front if danger approaches...a bear..a gang..drunks etc. IM TOO OLD TO RUN!!!! i want to be safe inside and ready to go!!!! KEYS IN THE IGNITION AS I SLEEP...just in case. i will be having a LARGE dog on board and a hatchet!! as i do in my car.. thanks for the wake up call!!! STAY SAFE
If they lit a fire that close to your van and were 'ACTING' drunk I think they were just trying to purposely run you off. I would never let anyone lite a fire that close to my vehicle. That is why I am so glad we have the Stand Your Ground law in Texas. I am glad you got out of there when you did.
Yeah that would have been very annoying I would have got out of there too glad y'all found better place to sleep Y'all take care and be safe and will see you soon
I saw a news clip one of those glacier buses flipped over with 60 people on board... sorry for those that got hurt or died but glad you did that LAST YEAR!
Exactly why I'm in my shuttle bus... anything goes wrong, I'm out! Was in a Meijer parking lot and it was long before closing time. A white SUV pulled up next to me. The guy didn't realize someone was inside... he was walking around the bus telling whoever was on the other line to "bring the Big truck" ... he was going to tow me! I was a customer! He didn't even knock on my door... he was just going to tow me! He pulled away, I jumped in the driver seat and left... was crazy! So yeah! The ability to just skiddadle, is a great and convenient security option.
You made me think of a situation in which I found myself. I was cutting across country, west to east. In Ontario I pulled over, middle of night, to sleep on side of road. Woke up to a guy banging on my F250 window saying he was the police and to "open up." I said "let's see your badge." He cups his hand and says "there." Meanwhile I noticed through the side mirror a red sports car immediately behind me. I turned on ignition and blasted out of there. I regret not first backing up and gunning it into his sports car. I stayed awake for the next 18 hours --- till I got home in New York.
I just bought a xplorer 230 my 2nd one I've owned getting ready to hit the road it's been 20 years since I've lived like this hope things haven't changed to much
Glad you mentioned dj thing. You edit, add music, and all that. Could or would you make a video of what software you use, and how you edit. Show how you add music, cut, everything you do. I mean start from finish. I want to do my own You Tube page, but editing and the technical stuff is overwhelming.
“Bang on the side and scare them off”. Oops... So, me jumping out in my leopard print pants and sponge bob shirt yelling wildly was not correct. ✅ got it😉
Hi Chrome, I watch most of your videos lately, it called my attention this one, about safety being inside your Van; I recommend you to watch @eamon&beck episode about building their new Van safety features, there are some locks available for Van (similar to a home lock). Thanks for your videos, stay safe!
Hey Crome Any suggestion for person like me wear hearing aids meaning I take em off at night and how would I be protect from nonsense noise? Maybe having a dog would wake me up and have the external camera rolling to make the call. Just something to think about living in Van Life. Love you bro
They sell an alarm / PA System. For about $25 on EBay. If someone is trying to open your van you just get on it and let them know the police have been called or something.
Thanks for sharing. Love to see the real stuff. Been thinking about whether I should remove the bulkhead or not but now I know the answer. I was gonna take off the top half and leave the rest but will see if I can get through the top half quickly 😀😀
Chrome you did the right thing just leaving,I would have done the same,if you would have gone outside to tell them to be a little quite,I don't think you would have got anywhere with them, being drunk they would have argued with you or maybe hurt you,and the first thing is to stay safe and look after cruz and yourself, from your fan Matina from Greece 🌻🙏
That’s why my number one non-negotiable is being able to get from my bed to my gas pedal without going outside!
That’s really smart! Unfortunately my rigs a pickup and a cargo trailer... Not really possible, but I do carry so I guess that’s a plus😂

How amazing is it that you can be frustrated with the neighbourhood, and just simply move your house! Chrome and Cruz's Excellent Adventure!
Glad you are safe despite lack of sleep. You did the right thing, by getting out of there.
Because of their fire alone, it was wise to just go!
Better safe than sorry Chrome!

Here's the biggest What If..... In 30 years youll say What If I had just gone and did it?
What helped me make the decision to give up my apartment and go on the road was new neighbors who moved above me and didn't have a concept of time or quiet. Best thing they did for me.

I agree that the beauty of a van is you can drive away. I've had a few incidents in free campsites. Only one scary. Others were noise.
You are a handsome man, Chrome!

Take care.
Cheers to the Best “True” Nomad on UA-cam, you do Canada Proud!
Black chizel tip sharpie on white part of foam board 😁...
Stay safe and quiet life for you and Cruzi Bear 😘😘😘 please english subtitles if you can. Thanks again. Yann, from France.
Now it's morning Time. I am glad you are ok! Be safe!! Thanks for sharing the ups and downs!!!!keep smiling Chrome. Hi Cruz
I think overall Canadians are by large a lot nicer and more compassionate.
Yeah
There is a different culture. In public, usually polite or indifferent.
One time i saw my grandma coming and i left like you did, sometimes it really comes handy
Lmao your drunk guy impression was freaken hilarious lol lol
So glad you’re safe! Don’t know what I’d do without my Chrome and Cruzie., 🥴

Hi, Chrome! I’m enjoying your adventures! Please stay safe during the pandemic!
Stay safe
Smart move! Stay safe.
Your observation about not being able to drive your house away from trouble is one I’ve used before! Can’t wait to get out on the road!
Theresa Hartman I really wish I could drive my home away from the snowbird neighbor I have now! He’s miserable!
I’m so sorry. Praying for you. ❤️✝️❤️
You done the right thing Chrome, better safe than sorry!❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
I want a Van like yours Chrome Man you r than Man, luv Cruzie too. Take care, see you again soon, bro.
Thanks, brother. Spent half the day trying to find a secluded camp space , then a campground. Nothing. Now I'm at a rest area.
The best part about living in the van. Turn the keys and drive away. I wish I could get away from my neighbors but were stuck here.
It’s hard to sleep with people being loud lol yes your van is awesome you can just leave! Your so inspiring and upbeat on whatever comes your way. Love to see that spirit in people. I’m really thinking of van life.
Been waiting for your video to come up..always one of my favorite.
loved the coconut oil with Cruz. brought a smile to my face
Thanks Chrome..... I NEEDED to be reminded about the ability to move when crap gets too much like what this video is about !!!!!! Blessings, Deb
Great get away. I'm all for that safety feature! 👍
I've been broken into living in the city & in the country. I'm in Oklahoma, if someone starts breaking into my house I grab my shotgun & defend my home. It's not ideal, but it's what we do here. We don't have a lot of random break-ins though.
Yup, locked and loaded always.

We need more story time from you. I need more story time.
I’d like to hear a solo female vanlifers take on this subject. That’s really the only mental hurdle I have to jump over before I move into my van.
I don’t think it’s much different. Either way, we do what we need to do. Mine is a .45 and I know how and not afraid to use it.
This is why I don't like to leave things outside my van. So at night I can just leave
