    Magnified Scopres for Mil Sim West *cough* I mean Airsoft. SoI hve a mid range 3x short scope with a red dot on top, I forget the name ofi t but I got it at a local sporting goodsstore's hunting section. Works good for me. my iron sights are prue last ditch back up effors (I put a folding m4 triange sight on my m4 for that reason).

    Great video! We need more real steel shooters in airsoft to bridge the gap and dispell the BS. Low end real steel scopes are far superior to "airsoft scopes" and the price difference is nominal. Mid level real steel scopes ($200 to 500 range) are even better.
    Free advice: If you can not afford a $2k+ scope don't ever look through one. Just go through life blissfully ignorant, believing your airsoft scope has "really clear glass".

      Can confirm. Looked through a TA31 ACOG as my first "higher end glass" and was completely blown away. Now my real steel mid length AR has a Leupold VX6 HD. I don't think I can ever go down to something like a Strike Eagle. At 50-200 yards, it doesn't really matter. At 600 yards, they're entire worlds apart.
      I went to a class where a guy was running some $2k+ Steiner. I've read about how great they are, but I purposely never looked through it for your exact reason lol

      @@umbrellasecurityforces1074 That Leupold VX6 HD is great glass! I was issued one for my work rifle and I really like it. Pound for pound the Vortex Razor HD Gen 2 is my current favorite but they are heavy. For what it's worth the new Vortex Viper HD series have glass that is nearly as good as the Razor at less than half the cost.

    Nice video guys as always.
    These 2 are my personal recommendations:
    -I am currently using a scope from Theta optics. Great clones and optics. They support recoil up to
    .22 so they also work on GBB with their advertisements. I got one with 1.5-5x40 with backlight etc. For €80,-
    -For a realsteel scope with true 1x experience I would recommend the firefield close combat 1-4x24 rifle scope, strong good glass and can handle in theory an Daytona airsoft gun for €130.

    I gotta put you in the airsoft elite 10% as well Kyle. Primary Arms may be budget for real steel but you were running the scope with the ACSS reticle on your silverback. Your scope has a setting to lead a target at a dead run .....I consider that high end for airsoft

      If you are running AEGs, those China made ones that cost around 30-40 USD on Aliexpress will work.
      If you are running GBBRs, those non brand name will blew up.
      If you don't care about it looking like an Eotech or some other military style optics, Vector Optics / Victoptics are brand name budget optic that will withstand GBBR shocks at 25 USD ish for their basic red dots

    I still debate whether I need magnification or not. My current setup puts the emphasis on close range shooting with an EOTech and I have a G33 magnifier for spotting at long range.

      Same issue with me. I used to have a 3x magnifier by pirate arms on my gun but i never used it. Its eye relief is terrible and the lense quality is not great. It also wobbles a bit so it never has my red dot line up correct.
      I normally wear -2 prescription glasses so this makes it hard to spot enemies sometimes as i don't wear glasses or contacts while playing. These cheap magnifiers dont work though and the good ones are real expensive. So the way i deal with it is either use a sniper (my sniper scope is actually good, although much cheaper then the crap magnifier). Or use no magnification and just deal with not being able to see everyone every time.
      And yeah, if there is a gilly there is absolutely 0 chance ill spot them. Im more likely to trip over them.

    • @xXAust1n46Xx
      @xXAust1n46Xx 5 років тому

      YT Games I also wear glasses. I fortunately have a real EOTech G33 magnifier so the clarity is excellent and the mount is sturdy.
      Still a tough call. If I stuff my glasses under a full face mask I can see fine with no magnification.
      But if I want to wear low profile goggles with no glasses, a bit of magnification could come in handy I suppose.

    • @xanderwusky
      @xanderwusky 5 років тому

      @@xXAust1n46Xx yeah, i wear goggles so its the former for me. I do know some army guys who can get their hands on the dutch military issue magnifier and optic which would work beautifully. In blind as hell and if I close my left eye my vision gets worse so I found a magnified reflex optic and I run a G36 so I put it pretty far foward, buts its smaller than a scope its got a red dot and I can keep both eyes open so it depends on the person when it comes to scopes or optics but I always buy a optic that is for a real firearm because they are easier and better when it comes to sighting it in the red dot if it has one isn't blown out unless you buy a cheap Chinese one and if your running a GBB that has a hard recoil they hold the sight setting

    Great video as always. I would like to add that for anyone running russian kit and looking into russian styled optics for their guns cheap clones are not worth the money. I know clones are cheap and look close to the real ones but save your money and buy surplus russian optics or russian civilian hunting counterparts. The airsoft clone tubes/bodies and side mount arms easily crack and break and the mount locks are usually weak and loose on most airsoft side rails. Real may hurt the wallet more than fake but fake hurts more when it flies off your gun and slams into the ground and breaks.

  • @tswdev
    @tswdev 5 років тому

    I was honestly expecting a better video. I have a 120 euro scope (that I broke on the first game about a year ago and still use it) that is 1.5-4x iluminated (red, green and blue colors, that i dont use) has a scale and eye relief is such that at 3x the full view of the scope can be seen at a hands width distance and doesnt need to be perfectly aligned either, I use it with a Dye i5 mask. The clarity is the best I have seen from any scope (I havent seen expensive ones, like 200 or more) but I used it in a night time forrest game with no ilum (so it doesnt mess with my vision) and I could see people as clearly as I can see them without scope.
    It has very clicky and sharp X and Y knobs, didnt lose zero even after being broken. Very slim and precise cross with segments on it (like mil dots) which are perfect to estimate wind for example, you see the BB going and move the scope such that you compensate the exact distance (if only my gun was stable enough).
    Now the biggest problem is that its broken and it doesnt have the same warranty as Vortex.
    I fell backwards (from junk grabbing my feet while walking backwards) on my Krytac with the scopes end hitting the concrete first, it chipped the concrete and broke the scope on the bridge area around the zoom dial (half moon cut), that is to say, no scope, no matter how good would have survived that. I also fucked up my hand and I couldnt grab stuff for 2 months, it wasnt a light fall.
    What I want? Exactly the same quality and features but a warranty like Vortex for under 3 times the price I paid for it (so i can break it more than 3 times)
    Shit, now that I think about it, am I even going to break it 3 times? Might as well just buy the same scope when fuck it up again (in 1 and half years of airsoft I only fell that one time)

    • @MrZeaken
      @MrZeaken 5 років тому

      Just because you have a "cheap" scope does not mean its bad for airsoft. Its just as I said in the video, its a balance of Cost, Glass quality and features. you get to pick two.

    • @tswdev
      @tswdev 5 років тому

      @@MrZeaken Thats the thing... the scope I have has all of those and its still 120 euro. Now. Why are others more expensive and most of all, what is the equivalent to mine from other companies?
      I have no way to compare two scopes unless I have them in my hands afaik. I was hoping that the video would have the comparison that I cant do myself.
      I am looking into buying a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x50 for example. But I dont know of any shop that has them in stock in Portugal so I'd have to ship them in, a comparison by hand is out of the question in this case.
      The thing I dont like about it is the crossair picture, its a solid and thick black line. I am also worried about eye relief. To be fairly honest i dont need anything else except 3x zoom and good eye relief. Semi-good viewing area and enough light to see under a tree at 12pm (when shadows are more dark because of angle) are nice to haves. Everything else is truly optional.

      @@MrZeaken thats exactly correct, except mine didnt have any branding at all, so I can only tell from the pictures on google. But it looks exactly like the same optic. The crossair graphic isnt ACOG style though (with chevron), but an actual very thin lined cross with a scale. Everything else is the exact same, the covers, the turrets, how the tube enlarges at the front, the style of zoom piece, etc. There is a "Aim Sports" branded one that looks exactly like mine, you can view the video of it here: v=aDkxqfHAQWM (youtube video)

    • @MrZeaken
      @MrZeaken 5 років тому +1

      @@tswdev To put that scope in reference of the scopes listed. Its the same price of the Riton but it traded all of its optical quality for features. Without looking through both next to each other the best measured way I can show this is through FOV. At 100y your scope can see 6Y across at 4x magnification. At the same 4x magnification the Riton can see 18Y across. You may prefer the features over optical quality which is fine but the Vector optics mustang is not a unicorn of value in the scope world.
      I suspect you will be very happy with Vortex scopes. If you continue to have trouble finding one to look through find competitive scopes and peek through them. Even if they are more or less expensive it will give you an idea of what your money will buy you.

    I very much disagree with this. I have a 13 euro alieexpress scope on my sniper and while im sure compared to these that doesnt have great eye relief but its actually quite good. Havent had any problems. Scope is very well secured, no wobble, aluminum build, comes with a mount, good field of view, good clarity and very good zero retention. Also they do not require any tools to adjust. (Also fully coated lenses and waterproof, never had any fog issues either)
    Very happily surprised by the quality and it even delivered fast (about 5 days, for aliexpress thats very quick)

      I looked it up because I was curious. It is a $62 optic on Ali. It is supposedly fully multicoated but other then that no locking turrets, not nitrogen purged, non etched reticle, No FOV or eye relief listed so thats probably not good. Does not mean its a bad optic or not suitable for airsoft but it would not look great standing next to the optics in the video.

      I would like to add that im by no means saying this scope is better then that gun gamers has on the table. I am saying that im fairly certain this comes quite close.
      To my experience eye relief is pretty good but i can only compare to a crappy magnifier by pirate arms (which was actually much more expensive then this scope). I dont own any high end scopes but where i play this scope is quite popular.
      Im also by no means saying this scope is good for an actual gun. That could mess up the zeroing, im dutch so i dont own an actual gun and cant test that but thats what i would expect.
