I'm relieved for the Baldwins that it's over. You don't have to like Alec Baldwin but I think he's been unfairly treated by the prosecution throughout -- and there's been a lot of fishy things going on with the evidence. They definitely should have shared this with the defense, IMO. Maybe a more fitting closure at this point to this horrible tragedy would be legislation named in memory of Halyna Hutchins to ensure something like this doesn't happen on a movie set again. Personally, I'd be fine removing all real guns from movie sets. They know enough about special effects these days to use rubber and fake guns, instead, and convincingly enough. Audiences should take responsibility for this too. Our addiction to violence in movies contributes to ever more dangerous movie takes.

If they didn't have much money, she would have plea bargained and have gotten a probation sentence like the Asst Director and be done with it by now. But I think this was another one of his daughter's whims that he couldn't say no to. And although I'm sure he loves his daughter very much, it's probably why she's so irresponsible with guns. He couldn't set limits with her or say no. He has some big blind spots with his daughter - I think he raised her by himself and he had some guilt about it. She didn't have a mother.
