- FFXV Leviathan Theme
SPOILERS for Chapter... 9? Video shows Noctis geting srs with Leviathan. Not going to lie, I didn't enjoy this fight much. The idea was cool but in practice it was just stand back and hold O for the ranged attack (spent a while trying to warp strike her without much success). Oh well, at least the music is SAHWEEET and it LOOKS awesome too..
You can find the rest of the music from the Final Fantasy 15 soundtrack here:

Visually and thematically this is a fantastic chapter.
Gameplay wise, it's more of a quick time event than Titan.
A semi controllable qte
Apart from ifrit it's the only titan you really "fight"
So like Asura's Wrath, in other words.
Kinda insulting when you consider how this section looked in the 2013 trailer.
guess they didn't want people to wipe and kill the vibe
The "I don't know what I am doing but I am having alot of fun" boss fight. Super epic, I love it!
Lol....My first time was exactly this!
Same!! 🤭
O mesmo
My initial thoughts during my first playthrough
My first play through I was just at awe of what was going on lmao had no idea what was going on but everything was so flashy
Say what you want about FF15, but if you don't like that brilliant soundtrack then something is seriously wrong with you.
Cadmea I agree the music hooked me at this part.
agree 2.6 million percent soundrack is nothing short of stelar hell psychopaths probably play episode ignises version of the ardyn theme wile looking for there next victim
FACTS
I played it for the first time yesterday, and I was floored. Beautiful music, beautiful acting, beautiful everything = beautiful game. 20/10.
Facts lol
FFXV was like a brilliant, beautiful dream that that was left half finished, and you know that the other half is left locked up in someone's heart.
Nomura nous le donnera un jour, cette autre moitié. Au travers de Verum Rex et Kingdom Hearts
Holy shit this comment hits hard. Just imagine what it could've been with the other 50%. Might've been the greatest FF game of all time.
I was so lost my first playthrough but just finished my second and it blew me away...I will always love this series on a completely different level!
Just came back after years to 100% again. If you look past the Titan fights it's potentially the best FF. They definitely should have split the game in half when noctis entered the light.
Easiest boss I've ever faced, but it was definitely the most exciting boss I've ever faced!
It's because you are the boss this time around, make no mistake.
Fr, it felt like a DragonBall fight
This was the biggest "fuck it, we ball" moment in FF history.
Clearly you haven't play FF16
@@potatonugget5629 playing through it rn actually
Anyone else drop their controller when the music kicked in and Noctis started flying?
That said, though, as awesome as this was, I wish they made these sections a tad harder. I just sat back and threw my projectiles for a ton of damage and only went in to physically attack the thing so it would look awesome. :P
Same with you know who...
SonicPrototype I just stared at the screen for 5 minutes for the music to play cause I was crying how beautiful it was. Now it's my most play track from the XV.
Wasn't expecting a semi rock intense song! So good
I mean...this battle. I was in tears. And it was freaking epic. XD
SAME OH MY GOD, I BEAT THIS BOSS YESTERDAY FOR THE FIRST TIME AND OH MAN
same !! one of the best final fantasy
@@RealisticLazerMinecraftMore I beat this boss 3 weeks ago and I freaking cried when Luna died...... :(
@@gamingwithash6671 I’m pretty stupid and was a little confused for the entirety of the story, when Luna died I was shocked but then went “WHAT???…. Anyways”
A battle that is meant not to be hard but rewarding in terms of epic value. The idea is to create that feeling of union between Lunafreya and Noctis, the combination of love and hope required to beat even death.
all that comment for a fight where you just hold Circle.
@@WizardOrangeScorpion not every battle in a video game needs to be challenging. For story purposes, sometimes cinematic is the only way to go. Considering that Noctis had released his full potential for the first time in this fight - it was meant more for the players visual enjoyment as well as creating a powerful moment in the story.
@@storms9023 Could've been challenging and good gameplay wise and cinematic at the same time. I just played the fight yesterday again, going throught the game currently the second time around, taking my sweet ass time, I'm just now on this chapter and already have 60 hours sunk into the game. Let me tell you, they could've definitely done a better job. Look at what God of War does, i mean yeah it's a pure hack and slash game with RPG elements, but... this isn't far from it.
I'm fine with what the game was trying to do, hell even the smallest of bro details are enough to compensate for just about any flaw in this game, but the game does have a lot of them. As for Luna and Noct romance it was so poorly executed that I didn't even pay attention the first time around to it in this scene; the weight of the scene for me was in the connection between Noct and his ancestors.
@@ragingsaviorkami9862 sounds more like a you issue buddy.
And then they die
Greatest fight in the game, for me at least I felt so op fighting him like that...
I thought that from a gameplay perspective, it was kinda lame.
I kinda' agree. It felt REALLY cool but it should have been harder.
It shouldn't have been an auto-win for sure.
Didn't like how it changed the controls either. The whole time I was like "Ok, no idea what's going on but im winning"
Totally.
I agree it should have been harder
Super Saiyan Blue Noctis!
Look at this color. Is it not beautiful? If I were to give it a name matching your tastes, it would be... Rosé. Yes... Super Ardin Rosé.
I FINALLY MANAGED TO EVOLVE MYSELF TO THE SAME LEVEL AS NOCTIS
@@fallenangleyohan XD
*Supersaiyanbluegodsupersaiyanthirteenpathsagemode!*
i just realized that the beginning of the music is sounds like skyrim dragonborn theme
yeah Fus ro dah sometimes. Or maybe evem Morrowind
This music... Can't stop listening...
This is why i love this game.
While the gameplay and story aren't always up to the FF standards, the games does A LOT to hype up fights, especially through the OST.
Like, here we see Noctis. Not cracking jokes, not helping his friends. He is deathly serious, something he does only twice in the game. He overpowers a GOD. And the soundtrack reinforces this feeling. This isn't a trial anymore, Noctis is proving his strength beyond it.
In my opinion, FFXV has one of the best stories in the franchise 😅 the chapters after Leviathan were incredible, and the last chapter was one of the best sequences I've ever played.
I love how those first few blows go with the music.
This was my favorite part of the game. I have never felt as epic as when I fought Leviathan and getting to beat this monster down after everything else happened leading up to the fight felt SO good. Getting to fly around and having the entire armiger circling around Noctis, akin to the original Versus XIII trailers was simply the best. Maybe it wasn't the most complex gameplay, but it was exceedingly fun and made me feel like Noctis could take down anything.
It was really an empowering moment
I'm glad, it was included in the game
The one time Noctis and Luna joined forces to beat an Astral. So epic
This fight was perfectly executed. It really made you feel like you were channeling the power of your 113 ancestors all at once. Besides Ravus this was my favorite boss.
I really wished the actual boss fight was harder.
Then this end sequence would have been more epic.
Every astral fight in this game could have taken inspiration from Shadows of Colossus. Especially Titan.
They all wound up just feeling like QTE sequences.
Hands down the best song in the game, this stuff is beyond epic.
Apocalypsis Noctis and Omnis Lacrima are better in my opinion. I don't say this is bad, it's E🅱️IC
@Armellium, the Fulgent. my personal favourite is A Tear-Stained Sword.
Ah yes the perfect chaos sonic adventure fight of final fantasy. This fight is even more epic than the perfect chaos fight, just love it.
Dreamcast vs ps4 chega ser um absurdo compará, além do Sonic ser prataforma e ff jrpg.
This is FFXVs version of "The One They Fear". I think Noct is the dovahkiin.
TheAsvarduilProject those were my thoughts when I was fighting Leviathan lol
It does help that Noctis Apocalypsis has the Elder Scrolls thing in it, too...
TheAsvarduilProject yeah they are similar but when you really compare them the tone is different and elder scrolls sounds like chanting loud and slow but ffxv chants faster but not as loud
Except this song is way better that skyshit
TheAsvarduilProject as the last of the septims passed in to legend...
Man, Final Fantasy drops the anvil like nothing else... For those that passed the camp final exam, defeated the adamantoise, battled through the menace beneath dungeons, lost their minds in the Pitioss dungeon, cracked down Garuda and obliterated Omega, you know what I mean. And that was on top of all the awesomeness that is FFXV.
literaly the greatest ever soundtrack of a videogame battle
Idk if anyone is gonna see this, but ff16 announced the leviathan dlc and I’m back to listen to this art before hearing the next version of this theme.
The theme slaps.
this game's story was so confusing, but very enjoyable to play
But once you understand the full story, it’s incredibly sad.
@@blue-phoenix115 can u pls explain I have trouble understanding or If there's an UA-cam video of explaining
@@hadijamot4683 Just watch a video, a lot better than I could explain.
The boss was easy but it was FUCKING EPIC! The music and just see noctis flying around throwing barrages of attacks then see the explosions, not to mention the beautiful scenery.
The soundtrack to this game is on another level
Loved Leviathan's voice in this. Like it was so ancient and powerful that our simple minds couldn't possibly understand what it was saying.
Final Fantasy 15 is one of my favourites.
Same here
Same here, in my top 3
Leviathan is one of my all time favourite summons in this entire game! She is amazing, I loved her boss battle themes! Hydraean's wrath and Apocalypsis Aquarius are the absolute best battle themes
This part blew me away dude this game is soooooo goooooood
8:28
Just leaving this here for those that want to listen to and witness the finale of this amazing boss fight.
God damn is this track amazing, Yoko Shimomura always kills it.
I loved this battle and everything leading up to it
I will always announce and be proud to say this was my first Final Fantasy I really loved! and im not ashamed! It was a great experience for my young teen 15 year old self back in 2016...
absolutely loved this fight
The score for 15 is unlike any other
This was so awesome!
Saw distant world's play this live two days ago in Amsterdam. Yoko Shimomura was in attendance too. The concert was amazing.
DOVAHKIIIIIN!
Huh, so that's where Alduin's soul went lol but in all seriously, that's a fucking epic battle theme
Sonic Adventure XV
Lmao. I thought the same thing when I first fought the Leviathan.
Sonic Adventure XV : The Elder Scrolls
Holy!! For this battle I was all tears, mixed emotions. This soundtrack it's epic! Love this game ❤
pedazo de temaso dios me encanto su batalla epica y emotiva con un cierre de combate increible :)
10/10 will play over again just for this fight
PREACH
this fight was my favorite. best battle music too.
This song is absolutely fantastic and is one of the reasons I always count Final Fantasy as my favorite RPG franchise. Between Yoko Shimomura, Masayoshi Soken, Masashi Yamauzu, Noriko Matsueda, and the legend himself, Nobuo Uematsu, you have SO much fantastic music that captures the moment and draws you into the story and the battle. This track, playing when it does, with everything happening in the story, the spectacle of going into battle against a summon monster of legend and holding your own... it's everything that a soundtrack should be and why you listen to them years later. They just take you right back to where you were when you first heard it. There is a reason people playing FF7 Remake started to cry the instant the first notes of Aerith's theme plays; the music means THAT much and hits THAT hard.
my favourite song of the game. gives me the chills!
FFXV was the first FF game I’ve ever played. And I think it was the best. The characters felt so human, and the soundtrack felt so fitting. Sure the leviathan wasn’t the hardest boss, but it sure was the coolest one. I was a bit disappointed with FFXV Online. It was lackluster compared to its predecessor. It isn’t a bad game, but it doesn’t feel the same. I will always remember that moment Noctis began flying. I dropped my controller, and felt so strong. It overall was a experience. If I were to recommend a FF game to anyone. FFXV would be my first pick. I will always love this game.
a heavenly piece of artwork
One of the greatest moments in final fantasy history. This should make top 10 EASY!! 💯
anyone else getting a bit of a skyrim vibe from some parts of the song?
yep
Phase 1 especially
4:28 Noctis is dragonborn confirmed.
leon508 not the last dragonborn, but Martin Septim
leon508 you know my reasoning
Side note - if you take a commanding tone and act aggressive toward leviathan when you're by her eye, you get some AP and she becomes a bit tougher, at least in stage one.
It's sad that enemies don't scale in NG+
Epic fight, this ost is so magical
I feel that this battle was understandably easy and it even makes sense lore-wise because we're using an absurdly enhanced AND pissed noctis
*FUS RO DAH!!*
One of my favorite song
I thought there should have been more combat against leviathan here. It took me a while to realise in my video i uploaded that there wasnt anything more to it other than just hold target lock and circle. I spent most of the time manually attacking and dashing at her haha.
Yeah it seemed they weren't sure how to approach aerial combat without being forced to incorporate it as an entirely new part of battle.
Goosebumps!
It was this fight that made me want to play the game.
I never even knew about the long range attack until this video. I was busy racking up 700+ combos by warping in and striking up close almost nonstop.
I had no idea what on earth the game wanted me to do here.... but holy heck the music and visuals were awesome
I love that choir
In Ignis DLC I really hope there's a segment where this is happening in the background and as Ignis you're just like "Battle of the Gods, way out of my league, nothing to do but not die while the city collapses around me."
That's it. I'm gonna get the soundtrack. This fight was awesome, maybe a bit too easy but still awesome.
Legend has it that the musicians and opera singers blew the ceiling off the hall this was recorded in
The horrifying moment when you find out that Leviathan is a woman, and cranky.
Yuck, I hate those things.
Joe Parrotta lmfao ikr thats what my bro said
and probably even more so. it might be that time of the month!
... men
I simp for leviathan
Best final fantasy game ever made. And the best OP anime like fight scene ever
the gameplay oddly reminds me of Sonic Adventure.
same here
Malcolm Fitzpatrick I wonder who would win. Perfect Chaos or Leviathan?
Exactly my thoughts. It's like Noctis is Super Sonic with some added powers. I somewhat feel nostalgic from this boss fight despite never playing an FF game (all the way through) and not owning this game. Haha.
_CAN'T HOLD ON, MUCH LONGER_
I answer your question by raising another question:
Who would win between Blue Noctis and Super Sonic?
Altissia newspaper be like "Foreign prince and a local Oracle flood the city in order to summon a giant blue sea-snake dragon so that the prince might go SuperSaiyanBlueGodSuperSaiyanThirteenPathsSageMode and bully and abuse the giant blue sea-snake dragon"
This part was janky as all get out, but the music and visual spectacle made up for it. So epic.
Noctis vs Leviathan is still one of the best fights in Final Fantasy
It's so sad that FF XV had so many overhauls and changes. When they finally had a fantastic concept it needed to be rushed. So many parts feel unfinished, be it story, character or even gameplay wise. 2-3 years more time after they got the development on the right track and this had the potential to be the best FF of all times.
I agree. It has wonderful ideas and concepts. I like the game, but I admit I mourned for the game it should be. I am not sure about the game mechanic, but story-wise it has potential to surpass even FF VII and FF X. The lore has many potentials! The Astrals, Crystal, and.... Ardyn! Unfortunately, FF XV failed to execute these ideas.
I remembered playing this chapter the first time. I felt... awesome! I think this battle was not designed as a boss fight, but as a semi-cutscene. However, the later chapters are ... meh (T_T)
Imho the royale edition fixed most of the bad things the game had on launch, my only gripe is that the should have merged the DLCs in the main game
*Ahem* and now my entire reaction during this fight:
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. This has now been an accurate representation.
Visually and auditory overload!
Mechanic wise eeeehhhhhhhh.....
Kinda prefer XIV's the Lord of the Whorl battle haha :D
Have to agree on that. Looking awsome and all but i think 15 is too easy overall. The story is not challenging at all, only battles with too many monsters (that tower with those bombs which explode and produce more bombs) or a bunch of flying monsters (air combat is stupid!)
Onebie I'd say the most difficult challenge is the battle with the camera angle lols :P
This battle mode is super easy. Boring even. Hold O and strafe until boss dies.
Zeik War To be fair this is pretty much a playable cutscene showing fully awakened Noctis completely overpowers Leviathan.
Gotta give SE credit, I did feel very OP in this scene :D
I mean I'd agree if they didn't do the exact same shit at the end of the game. Strafe and hold O until boss dies.
que musica espectacularrrrr!!!!!!!!
I believe we call this battle "A Royal @$$ kicking".
Girl: Me or the game
Me: FUS RO DAH!!!!!!!!
Sorry, the game wins in this case
Listening to this while defeating Leviathan on Final fantasy vii. priceless
gooseebuuumps , when i hear it first time and look at the leviathan
Epic stuff
After hours of boredom in this game finally one of the few highlights where it really shined.
Beating the boss ... Matching to the theme .. is a different level of fun🗿
This theme is making the fight 10000 times better
the leviathan battle is pretty much longer than most chapters unfortunately
I had no idea what was even going on at this point in the game or why I was fighting this thing, but I really liked this boss fight and the music!
When i played the part and the final fight of the game as well for some reason i was feeling like Neo
Epic asf
now i'm sad for being too broke to afford it
buy my shirts
Why did I feel like we were about to get hit with "DOVAHKIIN" lmao
Probably because 0:23 to 0:34 sounds extremely similar to Elder Scrolls' Theme which was represented in Skyrim with the Dovahkiin theme.
My headcanon is Shimomura's trying to convince SE to hire Soule for FF.
The moment when he learnt to be a proper king
3:21
“This is where the fun begins!”
This s*** is hitting the playlist!
Yoko Shimomura is the best.
I'm expecting this song to appear in some point of Kingdom Hearts 4
Hm... Skyrim's theme, ain't that? Only more "ANIMEEEEE"
Morrowind's theme, you pleb. Neverar's Rising.
Pardon my scrubby game knowledge... Morrowind was a bit ahead of my time
Morrowind trashes Skyrim. You really should play it.
Get graphics/animation mods.
´+Nial Iwakura To be fair all the intros for, at least, ES 3-5 has been variations of the same song. Dunno about the games before Morrowind though. Having played more Skyrim than Morrowind and Oblivion it was the first game I thought of too.
Link To Reality Morriwind was first to use this motif. Then came Oblivion teaser and I was so hyped when I heard the same notes. Skyrim played on same nostalgia attachment. Daggerfall and Arena didn't have such theme.
Noctis: pure orchestral
Aquarius: percussion, electronic, electric guitar
Magnatus: Rock on harder than Aquarius
The choir in this track goes sooo hard
This is what I expect from a modern Final Fantasy game, the presentation is spectacular. It's something we don't really find in VII Remake or XVI, sadly.
Wtf, ff16 was spectacular
Specially eikon battles
