At first I wasn't sure how to feel about Luna, given the drastic change from Stella, thinking she might become the typical gal in distress that needs saving, but right up until this moment she never really asked for anyone to do her job, she faced her choices and actions head on and carried them until the end, respect for the lady
Thats actually like the opposite of how Ardyn healed people when he was gonna be King of Lucis. Ardyn healed people by taking the daemon energy from them and absorbing it into his body therefore curing them.
I remember playing this battle for the first time. The first half I was struggling a bunch, and the second half was just pure destructive joy. Possibly the best cinematic boss fight ever.
Struggling? I'll make a video showing myself pressing one button with one hand on level 1 and winning. Please stop playing games if you struggled even for a second.
This fight was boss AF. I literally squeaked when it kicked off. Not a hard fight by any means, but the scale and epicness was just amazing. One of my most memorable gaming moments now I think.
My thoughts exactly. This was extremely memorable for me when I played through the game the first time and every time I think of FFXV, this fight always springs to mind as well as Noct’s sacrifice at the end of the game and being stabbed by all the previous kings! I loved this game and this is a masterpiece. It was my entry into the FF universe and I’ll always remember it.
FF15 could have been such a masterpiece It's just the Paceing...and the Dlc Episodes that should have been part of the mainstory But i still love this game to death
Akiin Moonlight I’m playing through it for the the first time right now with the Royal edition. I’ve only done the Gladio DLC, but since I played it at the appropriate time in the story, it fit right in and added a lot to both Gladio and Cor’s characters. The game is clearly flawed and it’s sometimes frustrating because all the pieces are there for it to have been a truly great game, but I’m enjoying myself a lot more than I thought I would.
This fight made me go completely silent and just focus - the entire beginning with the talking, the attempt, the last resort of your ancestors rising you up and giving you all their energy just so you survive because they want you to live - the music... Emotions hit me in the chest and still do. Almost started to break down. Something about falling and feeling hopeless and having an outside power watch over you - then coming up and lifting you up when you lack the strength - it gets to me. The bond that the line of Lucis carries within their lineage and having all these complex lore elements that really create a new world. One of the best games I've played.
Grace Mirchea Luslec so noctis needs to absorb the power of infamous summons much like ramuh and titan at this point he already has some summons with him leviathan is next and leviathan challanges him to a fight to prove his worth
Ardyn, the chosen king hundreds of years ago, had the same power as Luna + Noctis combined, tricked and usurped by one of the old "king". The gods took back their blessing and then he became a husk. He's now a vengeful clown that just wants to see Noctis becomes a 100% power ranger, before enacting his revenge on the false Lucis Caelum bloodline.
10:39 From this point on, your basic attack essentially becomes the "I win" button. I love the scale and the setting of this fight, I really do, but I would've also liked a bit more of a challenge.
Yeah I wished that too but it did showcase how op the power of all the kings together would be like. It literally took on a physical manifestation of a god (although I do believe every “god” we fight is nerfed to heck their astra bodies are probably much more powerful)
you can after the patch, if you maintain your stance and pride.. you get 20AP but Leviathan is stronger.. doesn't really change much though.. but if you're looking for a "bit more of a challenge" that's that..
The epicness of the battle against astrals doesn't correspond with its difficulty. In general, I would like the game to be more challenging, the only time I care about spells, armors and weapons was AFTER the main plot, when I had to go into Costlemark Tower and just because they didn't let me use potions
This was the best story moment of the game. Hands down. The only one greater is the final fight with Ardyn, and you can only appreciate that one fully once you know all the lore. This fight was where FFXV truly became a Final Fantasy game where the immersion, scale, story, and gameplay actually worked together instead of against each other in the rest of the game.
No hyperbole, this fight/moment will go down as one of my favorite Final Fantasy moments, ever. It was so surprising/exciting, and ultimately devastating. Really loving this game.
Would of been better if they included everything from the TGS 2013 trailer have a look at that, but I do agree with you. My jaw dropped when I payed this for the first time.
Replaying this game, this scene was very cinematic, Levianthan really made Noctis work for that covenant. I feel bad for the citizens, whom lost their homes and possibly drowned. Out of all the Astrals, Leviathan was the most turbulent, as far as forging a covenant: Then again considering what she’s witnessed with Ifrit and Solheim, her behavior towards humans isn’t totally unwarranted.
Kimson Robinson I knew that I wasn't the only one who thought of that boss fight and I also noticed that the way Noctis shoots his arrows is similar to how Shadow used his chaos spear in the final boss of Sonic 06
This game had it's problems, but this is one of the most visually impressive combat scenarios in any piece of fantasy entertainment ever made

The structures that are floating look bad, they seem randomly placed assets without any physics. During combat leviatan goes through buildings and does not break them and meanwhile you as a player are only limiting yourself to pressing the attack button or the warp button. This is one of the worst fights of the saga mechanically speaking and in terms of spectacularity, it is not a big deal either. You no longer have to compare how the combat in the retail game is with the 2013 trailer. There it did look like a piece of epic fantasy, what they gave us is just one more cinematic of one of the most disappointing games of the decade. .

Definitely. They should make the first phase of the Leviathan battle longer, and also overhaul it's attacks so that it's actually capable of damaging you, and you only have a brief moment of opportunity to warp out when seriously injured.

This was an epic boss fight, possibly better than the final boss of the game. As much as I really loved the final boss, he desperately needed to be revved up with higher stats and maybe more stages to the fight. This is how the final boss should've been, this was insanely fun :)
I haven’t fought Ardyn yet, but I can’t imagine him being even easier than Leviathan. Literally all you do is hold down the attack button. It was fun thanks to the visuals and the atmosphere, but that’s about it.
This game can be challenging enough and contribute to the length mostly from 80 % side quest, over complicated dungeon and hunting monster. Main story is a mess.
If anyone is complaining about how this fight simply requires you keep the attack button pressed, here's a wonderful idea: don't keep it pressed, only use it for up close and personal attacks. :D Just because you can do it doesn't mean you have to. Even if you hated how easy this battle was, keep in mind it was one battle. Lots of players wish they could play moments in which the protagonist had godlike powers and they limited to two battles (this one and Ardyn) so the gameplay wouldn't be too easy.
No matter what you do, the combat is designed so that you do not die, if by some miracle Leviatan manages to do you the least damage, you automatically recover all your health
So I guess when Luna was trying to show compassion on Ardyn by healing him, he pulled back and looked like he reconsidered his actions only because, in the back of his mind, he remembered Aera being just like that. Giving grace to others indiscriminately, ally or enemy. Serious levels of kindness towards others. Plus HE was a healer himself, once. Until things went FUBAR.
10:07 Only now I realize how beautiful this music is. When I first played it it was covered by the noise of my voice yelling something like: "WHY DID I SPENT THE LAST 66 HOURS OF MY LIFE GATHERING THIS WEAPONS IF THIS BITCH COULD HAVE JUST MADE THEM FLY TO ME FROM THE BEGINNING?" Man this game, so emotional but at the same time so broken.
That's cause that was Nomura's version but then he was removed with someone else and that person adapted the entire game into something completely different.
I now remember why i cried so hard during this scene when i finally thought noctis and Luna would get married to only get through this boss fight with her passing hurt😭
This game had so much potential. The storyline could've really shone had the devs outlined the plot better. I really wish this game is remade in the future.
To those of you who can't follow the story, the thing with Square Enix games is they're very good with complex plots. You'll have to watch it from beginning to end to understand it.
Jason Bourne and see kingsglaive, n brotherhood n look at n read all the Cosmogony books, and the research papers in chapter 13, they not gonna simply tell u the story, you have to put 2 n 2 together, that's what i love doe
And people don't like that. Sorry, but I love a story driven campaign. RPG genre never dissapoints with story driven luster. They are truly the best genre of video games. Beautifully crafted tales.
Yeah, I watched all I could and read all the texts in the game, but... much is left to be desired unfortunately. The story is one of the most emotional I have ever played. So sad. But logically,.... nopes.
in the early 80s, Atari and arcade game management supposedly were predicting that the interest in video games was wearing out and all that could be done with them HAD been done, which is why they started to cut funding bigtime. But as a kid back then we were like no freakin way, this is just the beginning. Then came NES and the rest is awesome history. But still dammit where are the VR FF games??
It was a fragmented experience for me. The game starts in the middle of the story where the team is already bonded and the plot has already been revealed. Most of the important story buildup happened in the separate movie and UA-cam miniseries. As for the gameplay, I felt Noctis was overpowered. You can finish a battle mindlessly by bashing the attack button. I finished Omega Weapon mainly by spamming potion and triangle button for 20 mins. Where's the challenge in that?
The gameplay in general is pretty lacking in this game, but I’m still enjoying it. I’m glad I waited though, the Royal Edition still feels unfinished, so I can’t even imagine what a shit show it was at launch.
I'm not a big fan of Luna's dub VA (faked british accents really don't work for me) but I think the delivery for 3:24 is one of the few lines she absolutely nailed
09:10 this makes soooo much sense especially after beating the game. I love such moments when in the middle of the game someone says something you think as "yeah right." and then you forget it was even said and after beating the game and watching the same scene again it hits you like bricks and you realize "holy moly she actually knew! This makes much more sense now". Although in this case (for me) it leaves a bittersweet taste. I literally cried because of the ending.
@@gyugregorio6360 I kept doing side missions and using the trick with the hotels - don't sleep till you've got like 100.000 EXP and then go to the Hotel in Galdin Quay or in Altissia (both the most expensive ones: 15.000 and 30.000 gil a night) and use the EXP boost (Galdin: EXP x 2 and Altissia EXP x 3). You will see in a matter of hours you have leveled up really fast. I didn't notice and I was at lvl 65 when I finished the game. Easy peasy. Even so the end boss is lvl 45 so it should be possible for you. Which chapter are you in? When you finished the game come back here and rewatch this scene and you will have the "ahhh" effect.

@@gyugregorio6360 That's good. You can do side missions and do the exp boost. It was my first FF too. The good thing here is that it's not really missable. I have played FFVII - Remake and there you should play with caution bc there are a lot of things to be missed (linear story not open world). I can recommend you that one too. The only thing I can tell you is that there is a place called "Formouth Garrison" and they tell you lvl is 45/46. Don't believe that I was at lvl 50 and it did cost me like 5 or 6 phoenix feathers. But since you have the ring you can try it and do all Garrisons. There is also a spell which you can make with a rare coin to bosst exp gain during battle. Search for it. Otherwise I think you are good to go since the end boss ist at the same level. Do you have royal edition? If so you should grind a little more haha (it's a bit harder since there are more obstacles between you and the end boss).

Dude this is just massing square buttons. Just gimmick cinematic and you compare this with god of war ??
Play Dark Souls and be a man.
@@Sam-xg3mrhe's not easier than this battle but he's still super easy
@@Sam-xg3mrlmfao idk why i replied to this just now i'm sure you beat the game in the 3 years since you wrote this 😭
This game can be challenging enough and contribute to the length mostly from 80 % side quest, over complicated dungeon and hunting monster. Main story is a mess.
I played this game not even knowing leviathan was even in this, so when I fought this guy, oh my gosh I was screaming from excitement
Noctis just activated supersaiyanbluegodsupersaiyan13pathssagemode
"I am Noctis, Prince of Lucis, AND KING OF FISHING!"
Me: Ya certaintly proved your point
Noctus: I will use the power of the chaos emeralds to defeat perfect chaos!
Gladius: Wrong franchise Noctus!
The best boss fight in the entire game, not about how difficult it is tho( since it's easy af), I'm talking about its epicness xD
A fight where the boss cannot hurt you, it cannot be considered the best
@ don't you get tired of being a hater? in all the comments you are complaining, stop talking shit
that moment when you chuck a master ball when it's not looking.
One of the most epic fights on the final fantasy series 💯
Epic! Best incarnation of Leviathan yet!
I don't care what anybody says and how many ppl hated this game, this is one of the most badass boss fights I've ever seen.
It's amazing visually, gameplay wise it's just "Mash Buttons until you win"
@Overbite the fight was hella scripted. The magnitude of it I thought was something else entirely.
@Overbite suit yourself. I thought it was very well done for what it was. Or did you prefer chapter 13?
If anyone is complaining about how this fight simply requires you keep the attack button pressed, here's a wonderful idea: don't keep it pressed, only use it for up close and personal attacks. :D Just because you can do it doesn't mean you have to. Even if you hated how easy this battle was, keep in mind it was one battle. Lots of players wish they could play moments in which the protagonist had godlike powers and they limited to two battles (this one and Ardyn) so the gameplay wouldn't be too easy.
Jason Bourne Great point
No matter what you do, the combat is designed so that you do not die, if by some miracle Leviatan manages to do you the least damage, you automatically recover all your health
So I guess when Luna was trying to show compassion on Ardyn by healing him, he pulled back and looked like he reconsidered his actions only because, in the back of his mind, he remembered Aera being just like that. Giving grace to others indiscriminately, ally or enemy. Serious levels of kindness towards others. Plus HE was a healer himself, once. Until things went FUBAR.
10:07 Only now I realize how beautiful this music is. When I first played it it was covered by the noise of my voice yelling something like: "WHY DID I SPENT THE LAST 66 HOURS OF MY LIFE GATHERING THIS WEAPONS IF THIS BITCH COULD HAVE JUST MADE THEM FLY TO ME FROM THE BEGINNING?"
Man this game, so emotional but at the same time so broken.
But you don't get to keep them.
The boss battle is nice, but what bothers me, is that the one in the E3 Trailer from 2013 looked way way more epic
That's cause that was Nomura's version but then he was removed with someone else and that person adapted the entire game into something completely different.
@@1trevor30 that's because that was scripted as hell and couldn't really work properly in a real finish game
Cole 96 u must have never played a final fantasy game before, ALL THEIR GAMES ARE SCRIPTED!
@@Naspheratu wtf are you talking about?
When noctis wakes up, that's the most fuckin epic scene i ever see
This game has multiple insane boss fights. This is just nuts. What a fight. And the music is crazy, easily Top 10 in the FF entire series.
They should've had more bosses like this. Would've been awesome to fight Alexander in all it's glory.
This fight and music is one of the best combinations on a game ever.
Noctis: don't you understand? I'm the king!
Leviathan: and I'm a fucking Goddess
I now remember why i cried so hard during this scene when i finally thought noctis and Luna would get married
to only get through this boss fight with her passing hurt😭
This game had so much potential. The storyline could've really shone had the devs outlined the plot better. I really wish this game is remade in the future.
The second phase of this boss is probably the coolest boss fight I've played in all my years of gaming
The levaithans voice is literally what nightmares are made of
To those of you who can't follow the story, the thing with Square Enix games is they're very good with complex plots.
And be ready to shed some tears, cause if you expect a happy ending, FF games are not for you.
Yeah, I watched all I could and read all the texts in the game, but... much is left to be desired unfortunately. The story is one of the most emotional I have ever played. So sad. But logically,.... nopes.
Second phase song is why I’ll never forget this fight
Apocalypsis Noctis
in the early 80s, Atari and arcade game management supposedly were predicting that the interest in video games was wearing out and all that could be done with them HAD been done, which is why they started to cut funding bigtime. But as a kid back then we were like no freakin way, this is just the beginning. Then came NES and the rest is awesome history. But still dammit where are the VR FF games??
One of the best parts of the game. Such a beautiful scene at the end. Why does this game get hate?
It was a fragmented experience for me. The game starts in the middle of the story where the team is already bonded and the plot has already been revealed. Most of the important story buildup happened in the separate movie and UA-cam miniseries.
As for the gameplay, I felt Noctis was overpowered. You can finish a battle mindlessly by bashing the attack button. I finished Omega Weapon mainly by spamming potion and triangle button for 20 mins. Where's the challenge in that?
I really like Final Fantasy 15 too!
@@renohasbigtits Yeah man but I guess 15 just wasn't for everyone.
Go look at the Japanese trailer. Then ask yourself the same question. Please go ahead I'll wait. Afterwards ask another question where is that game.
People hated the first few hours.. Honestly, pushin a fancy car was just stupidf.
This fight man, such disappoint.
Visuals 10/10 easily
Music 10/10
Gameplay 1/10 wtf were they thinking
The gameplay in general is pretty lacking in this game, but I’m still enjoying it. I’m glad I waited though, the Royal Edition still feels unfinished, so I can’t even imagine what a shit show it was at launch.
Yeah its boring af. All i have to do is install autoclick and spam pay respect fffffffffffffff
I don't know about you guys but I think this fight is so much better than fighting the final boss
fun fact: most of the QTEs dont mean a thing. if you wait long enough, the game does it for you.
this was the most fun i ever had during a bossfight and the cut scenes were breathtaking
I'm not a big fan of Luna's dub VA (faked british accents really don't work for me) but I think the delivery for 3:24 is one of the few lines she absolutely nailed
Probably, You come here for this moment 10:07
Enjoy it!
The music from 10:41 is what, honestly, made it memorable for me.
Noctis turns ultra instinct. This fight was pretty epic not ganna lie
10:36
Noctis: Trace.. ON..! Sword-Barrel.. Full-Open!
Nice fate reference
I beated the boss before and god damn it was awesome, thats why im here to see the battle again xD
Pervy Neko Loves Hentai Nice pic. where is it from
you sound like such internet trash. XD
it was fun even tho it was piss easy
Me too XD
I love this cutscene and fight.
I just love final fantasy 15 in general. I have almost platinumed this game and stoked to play another FF game
This comment makes me wanna finish the game but at 46 I still feel very underleveled...
@@PelusillaJefa408 I'm actually in the last chapter already. Doing "Cure for Insomnia" but because I felt so weak I went back to past Lucis to grind and backtrack on stuff that I missed since I went through the chapters too fast XD (This is my first FF game, idrk what I was doing)
Wait this game came out 2016 wtf It felt like last year. Damn time really does fly
Love the part when Noctis goes Super Saiyan lol
@Mike Rose
You mean Super Sonic, right?
You mean Godmode1 right?
avatar mode is more like it
super saiyan blue god super saiyan 13 path sage mode
So Noctis becomes Jesus/God and Fights the biblical Leviathan? Not only that, he can fly now!
3:22
I keep this on replay, because it's like Luna is talking to a misbehaving pet
I LOVE IT
still remember the chills when fighting him the first time. wanna go back to those first time nostalgia feels
3:18 That moment when you realize that Leviathan's head looks kinda like a trident. I like her =)
10:41-10:52
Noct: You want me to prove myself worthy to you!? LET'S GOOOO!!!
We wanted to see the true power of Kings, and they delivered
This was the only cool thing that came out of FF15
It’s nice to see Leviathan in a FF game every time because it gets so forgotten. Despite being a badass thing
@7:29 that theme intro hits me so hard
One of the best chapters in the game, and in videogames in general
The fight was magnificent, but the hype quickly died by what Ardyn did after that.
I know that ffxv is not a perfect game but damn, this moment is so epic! and the ost too...i can't hate this game. For me is a pleasure to play it 🙂
love how Leviathan is like wlafjkfhkwhfoahf and they still understand what she says
I think it's because Leviathan speaks backwards.
@@iqbaalannaafi761 still if someone speaks backwards will you understand it will take me a few hours to process it
