  • A cracking day lure fishing for Cod and Pollack over the rough ground around Seahouses and Beadnell. I had to get up at 4:00am to beat the weather but it was totally worth it with lots of codling and a few bonus pollack to the kayak. After a slow start the fish came thick and fast all falling to the ever deadly weedless shads

    Great vids, easy on the eyes and ears,top fishing, experience shows.All the guys subbed to the other bigger channels will get this on their home pages at some point, once seen I reckon you will be in for a big boost in subs.Forgot to mention the editing.... decent.Good luck!!!

      Thanks Mark, I really appreciate your feedback. There’s a canny bit of effort goes in and it’s nice when someone notices. The channel is up to 2600 subs now so fingers crossed it starts getting noticed more widely soon. Kayak fishing is quite niche so I’m gonna be doing a lot of different venues and species this year, I’m also gonna be filming my shore stuff which I haven’t done yet. Whatever happens I’m enjoying it.😁 Thanks for your support Mark and tight lines 👍🎣

    What yu wanna do Chris is warm a small screwdriver and melt inside the belly behind the split to the tail so it has a small cavity then inject the scent inside the lure, that’s how I rig my custom lures so there always scented

      Hi mate, Beadnell is a nice easy launch straight from the car park. You don’t need to go miles out either. Be careful if the current though as the tide can fair fly through there. Be sure you have all your safety gear as well, dry suit, pfd, vhf etc. Tight lines 👍🎣

    Often wondered about using scent. The american fresh water and sea anglers frequently use things like pro-cure etc so much so I've got some different variations to try this year. You never know

    Hi Pal in one of your videos you said about possibly changing your VHF Radio to one with DSC Locating on it, i have just followed your way of thinking and have got the Standard Horizon Hx890E with GPS & DSC but when i turn it on its asking for a MMSI number, do you know anything about this, i have looked on line but cant seem to find out where i get one.

    • @onthedropfishing
      @onthedropfishing  2 роки тому +1

      Hi mate, you get that when you apply for your (mandatory) free ofcom license. It only takes a moment to do, is a legal requirement and is free. Don’t confuse it with the VHF short course license which you legally need if you want to call up other boats/kayaks (short course costs money). You can use your radio for emergency calls only without the short course license but you still need the free ofcom one if you own a vhf.
      I hope that makes sense! 🤣

    • @onthedropfishing
      @onthedropfishing  2 роки тому +1

      Morning, If you’re going to sea in it whatever you buy needs to be 12ft plus in length. You want stability over speed as well if you’re just starting out so the non pedal version of mine might be a good place to start? A used Galaxy Sturgeon mkII or later would be great value. Don’t forget to keep half of your budget for your safety gear. Tight lines 👍🎣

      @@onthedropfishing there doesn't seem to be a good way to make sure what the sea is like before going down. "Light breeze" seems to be the key word. That and the tide. I hope to make my first sea outing soon. Tx for the reply and great vid, as always

    • @onthedropfishing
      @onthedropfishing  2 роки тому +1

      @@iulianmuresanu I use windy as my primary app and Magic seaweed second. You need the wind to be from the shore for a day or two as a rule of thumb and less than ten miles per hour on the day. It all depends on which part of the country you fish in as well as there can still be a sea running in some places regardless of the wind. Join a local group on FB to find out about your area. People are really helpful safety wise. Also need to plan ahead and see what wind is forecast for later in the day. Avoid onshore (from the sea) winds. Most important, trust your own eyes when you get there, if it doesn’t feel right don’t go out. And don’t go on your own if you’re inexperienced or don’t have the correct safety equipment 👍🎣
