Hi there that looks awesome you’ve done a wicked job i am glad it wasn’t me doing that paint job i showed my optima mid custom on rc talk and a veiwer wasn’t happy with me because he thought i was going to run my mid custom and he said No No you don’t run these cars there shef Queens if you want to run go and buy something else. Thats what he said and he’s right because it only takes one roll over on gravel or asphalt and your going scratch up the tops of your shocks. If you have two mids it’s okay but if you only have one just be careful because the steering is sharp on these.👍
Keith I admire your dedication / OCD 😅😅 in getting the final result it's awesome, personally prefer the build side and have a stack of bodies to paint 🤣🤣
Hi Keith, That looks great , one of the closest to the box I have seen. The Kyosho cars from the. 80s nearly all had differences with the body’s and decals supplied from the ones used on the box pictures. The standard mid is one of the worst., the turbo Ultima is another decals are a different colour to box art.
Boiling water from the kettle poured into a bowl with the can put in the hot water for about five minutes will build up the pressure in the can forcing it to come out properly.. down to almost the last drop in the can... Prevents that splatter experience when the paint is cold and air pressure because the paint comes out at too low a pressure..
Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner and a cheap electric toothbrush... I cleaned a screen printed body using this method.. which took some time because of how thick the screen printing was.. so on normal painting it should come off without an issue..
Admire your determination with the colour. The trouble with Kyosho box art back in the day was that the car they photographed was sometimes a early prototype and not the exact car that ended up in the box and that included the decals hence the troubles you were having. Another example was the Turbo Scorpion original which had wheels in the box different to the box art wheels and there are many more examples. Love your new sound much better for deaf old guys like me.
I know what you’re saying. I have the original turbo scorpion to build and I sourced the box art wheels. The sound was actually sorted when I launched.
