I've been following Joshua Becker for 2 years. I'm always inspired no matter how many times I might have heard a story or reheard his ideas.

I am trying to downsize and have less while getting out of debt. Up until I had cancer last year I thought I could always make more money, buy more stuff and I would be ok. Cancer puts things into perspective….buy less, give freely, love more, be free.

The clothes thing: I wear the same clothes every day for work. I leave my pants and shoes at work and my socks and shirt I take home and wash every night. It's like a uniform. The pants I take home on Friday and wash over the weekend ready for the next week. FYI I ride a motorbike so the less stuff I have to carry home in my backpack the better.

Instead of gifts, give the kids an experience. Let people give towards an experience. I am near 50. I do not remember any gifts I received as a kid, but I sure remember being given a hands-on flight in a Cessna for my 17th birthday.

Giving experiences is an awesome idea. I sometimes give gift cards for grocery stores in a little gift basket with homemade cookies (or whatever food the person enjoys).

31:10 Minimalism, in many ways, forces us to define what is most important to us.

Celebrities need to stop promoting materialism and start using their influence in making this world a better place. How do you wake these people up?

Why on earth is it the business of celebrities to teach us this?

It isn’t the responsibility of celebrities. We are each responsible for our own choices. This man is choosing to share his story - yet it is still mine and your responsibility to choose what we do. Why do so many people want to blame someone for their own bad choice? 🤔

I almost got my wife on board, close. It will take a while longer for her and I'm being patient. However, I'm personally moving ahead.
