never heard of this game until I saw this LP series. I'm not much of a strategy gamer in general, but this seems right up my alley. very excited to discover it, gonna buy it on EGS so y'all get a bigger cut for your hard ass work. thanks for puttin it on sale, and fuck the haters
You have made an excellent game so far, one I was happy to purchase. I look forward to your updates as, with just a bit of polishing, this is going to go big.
I just saw that this went on salea few days ago. Since I had seen a video on this channel and really enjoyed it, I bought it immediately. I’ve been having a lot of fun and I’m really excited to see what else y’all have in store! Also, great tips/tricks as I’m trying to progress/increase levels. Awesome video!
Your comment at the end about the "sprint to the finish" being satisfying is true, but those games where everything goes wrong and you eke out a last second win against the odds also feel great
Those "fuck it" moments in video games are my favourite moments. If you fail you still had fun doing something dumb, and if you succeed you're laughing your ass off
After watching your first Against the Storm video, I added the game to my Steam Wishlist. Now that it's available, I have played it for several hours and I am definitely addicted. Would love to see more Against the Storm videos from you!!
@@thorrin Quintus Ennius (Latin pronunciation: [ˈkᶣiːnt̪ʊs̺ ˈɛnːiʊs̺]; c. 239 - c. 169 BC) was a writer and poet who lived during the Roman Republic. The Punic Wars were brutal wars between the Romans and Carthaginians. Rome won them all, but the first two were extremely costly to Rome, especially the 2nd, when Hannibal was on the Italian peninsula, kicking Rome's ass for 15 years. Rome never gave up and ultimately won.
man I really love this game, it is so fun to play! especially when you get fun cornerstone combos- one time I got the Cannibalism + Chicken or Egg? combo with Ranches to make a bunch of harpies and intentionally make them unhappy to get meat. It was SO fun
Potato: "I think I'm going to try to keep my population relatively small this run." Spongebob voice: "Three. Minutes. Later." Potato: "You know what, population is just the way I like to play."
Eveerything Hooded Horse is publishing is on my wishlist at this point. Manor lords, Against the Storm, Terra invicta, Falling Frontier, Fata Deum... yes to obscure indie strategy games.
Been hopelessly addicted to just the demo of this game for the past few weeks, really enjoying your content on it while I’m waiting for the steam release
I have been appreciating the long series you make on different strategy games. After Terra Invicta and Against the Storm, I can't wait to see what game you would like to cover.
Now that the game is out, I've come back to this and WOW the way you talk through your thoughts (especially some little mistakes) has been so helpful. Absolutely LOVE this game already, hope to see more from you now that it's in Early Access!
Opening glades is meant to be punishing. The backstory is that this global storm is on a regular cycle and it wipes out everything at the peak. So the game starts just after that and you, the new guy, appointed because everyone before has failed miserably, have to get as many stable settlements up as fast as possible to keep the last safe place supplied. However, you're new, you don't know what you're doing, you're people don't trust you, they're afraid of what they think is out there that could survive, and the storm does do weird things to the environment. So you have to go through it a few times and you and your people will learn how to do things more efficiently and become more resistant to the negative side effects of the storm/forest
7:49 "the game is telling me that i'm not allowed to explore it" that's sorta the game, and sorta the lore/setting. the world doesn't like you, and doesn't want you exploring and damaging it. you are fighting the nature to explore more for more resources. it's a time when the feel and setting of a game line up with each other. the devs did good.
know i said "i'm absolutely addicted to terra invicta!!! need more!!" ... but i'll gladly take some against the storm as side dish, cant wait for Novermber 1st!!
3:43 Actually you can improve on that first ring of road, and that's why they don't want to make it for you. you can make it slightly wider to accommodate the starting decorations that you'll surely need. There have been several variations in my playthroughs and I'm thankful that they didn't force any of this, and they're letting us be creative with it.
Discovered this game thanks to previous series, and I'm addicted to it. No thanks :D It's really cool, and the last additions make it even better. Great game.
my favourite game you're playing! this was a really exciting run. would be nice to see you try and do an "aesthetic run" where you try and make a large beautiful city
That ancient pact could've saved you from opening the glade you weren't ready for, and thereby avert the consequence, and all it costs is a villager. ...barrels are pretty nice too.
I miss the Terra Invicta game play videos. I did learn that your mission control is tied to alien aggression. I am not sure how but there are two Xenology projects that state, "We estimate we can increase our fleet and hab construction by 25% (as measured by our Mission Control usage) without inviting alien retaliation." Does this mean with both projects you can have 50% or under your mission control cap used without alien aggression? Is there a basic percent of mission control that we can use normally that increases by 25% and then by 25% again? So, if we could use 25% of our mission control these 2 projects could allow us to use 37.5% of our mission control? I am not sure. I actually like that this is hazy because not knowing at what point the aliens get uppity is part of the games charm to me. Finding that balance without hard and clear rules telling us the line. Don't give up on Terra Invicta!!!!
This game kind of reminds me of Eador. In this game, you claim new land for a settlement, and must grow that settlement to sustainable levels, netting you rewards that can be used for future settlements. In Eador, You build a large empire from various landmasses floating in space, shards if you will. You pick a shard, and mobilize an army to conquer it grand strategy style. If you win, you claim that shard for your empire for increased energy income, unlock new buildings and units, and increase the number of starting bonuses you can bring with you; the bonuses cost energy, making future runs more competitive.
dis game looks sick. loved frostpunk, struggled to find anything similar - this looks like what i been lookin for. just finished watchin all ur vids on it. cant wait for the steam release
Had to stop playing this game because I was playing it way too much - crazy how fast the hours can disappear when each run has you teetering on the brink of destruction! Glad to see you're enjoying it as well, I'll be sure to try out the new difficulty modifiers (and use an alarm clock this time around).
Soil Reclamation is quite good, yeah! I believe it's 3 tiles of fertile soil for every 1 resource fully depleted during drizzle. If you're willing to micromanage it, you can get a lot, but even if you don't, you'll still wind up with a decent bit. Also, you can hover over the incoming trader (or click them to open the help menu? I forget which) to see what goods they generally buy & sell. Helps you plan for situations like the one you found yourself in!
I’ve been playing too much of this. I feel like those “build this specific building” orders are a trap, unless you already have the recipe, especially after you get to the prestige level where you get less building choices. It’s just too common for me to never see that building, except maybe at the very end when I’m already about to win
I realy enjoy whatching this game.i discovert this game through you and got instantly adicted. Played through the entire Prestige in one week and then i Tried to beat the game with out buying any Upgrades in the fort. And Got too Prestige 12.
spam refreshing on the edge of my seat for the next terra invicta video but instead we get a video on this banger which is moving to steam in a few weeks, not what I was expecting but I'll damm well take it!
I hope we get more AtS! One of my favorite games. You should try toggling burning and switching on and off to ping pong the resolve since it takes time for it to go up and down. You can save some resources like that.
I ll be over here then, the odd man out for not surrounding my hearth with paths. Instead, I do a line between the hearth and storage across the clearing, and then another line north to south across the clearing, hopefully lining up to minor glade spots. From what I have seen, they are happy to walk straight up to the hearth, but do not walk along it like they do with the storage. The extra paths dont hurt, but they arent required to me.
Got into the game from one of your earlier vids, game's a blast. Have you tried a wheat snowball run yet? There's a cornerstone that gives more wheat the more you produce it. With some other buffs, you can stall the hostility out and be producing thousands of wheat each year. Anyways, love the vids on this game, hope they're doing numbers enough to keep them going (and you're enjoying making them of course)
I lose a lot in this game! lol. Although since it takes about a day for me to get through a settlement, i... really need to figure out the min/max meta.
Sometimes, you have to take on impatience. You may as well do it to call a trader as opposed to generating it by losing villagers while doing a quest because of your amber, or failing said quest and losing your trade goods. At least now, you have bonuses; not penalties.

Beautiful game! And so good to de potato happy again.
Gosh, it was such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for playing!
And thank you everyone for your positive comments, they mean a world to us!
They mean so much you'll release the game 2 weeks early right? :D

this is in my top 10 games of all time. Thank you for doing such a good job.
What strange Terra Invicta mod is this
No its a new mod for Civ6
Well, Tera Invicta was already a Civ mod wasn’t it? They just did a ton of updates since the last play through was recorded.
+2
It is whiplash going from my current addiction to my last one. The update(s) looks real good though!
hahaha :') Chill guys
I'm so glad these are back.
The updates they've done since the last playthrough are INSANE
Let’s go
Yeah, I honestly can't believe the pace at which they're improving the game. Loving it.
Your comment at the end about the "sprint to the finish" being satisfying is true, but those games where everything goes wrong and you eke out a last second win against the odds also feel great
having never seen a play trough from you before. congratulations, youre the first youtube playtru witch i need to slow down in stead of speed up ...

I'm super glad Against the Storm is back. Missed this
Terra Invicta, round 2!
“The victor is not victorious if the vanquished does not consider himself so.” -Ennius
Sounds like a Roman Saying or something someone said about them.

oh, more Against the Storm, I loved your last series with it, glad it's back :)

So, no new terra invicta?
Potato: "I think I'm going to try to keep my population relatively small this run."

More Against The Storm!

I’ve only seen this game played twice, but I find it fascinating. I think it’s also perfect for your play and streaming style. I’d love to see more.
This is the favorite game to watch you play. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I have been appreciating the long series you make on different strategy games. After Terra Invicta and Against the Storm, I can't wait to see what game you would like to cover.
I was just rewatching your earlier playthroughs yesterday. I'm looking forward to the steam release!

I was just thinking I really wanted more Against the Storm content with the Steam release coming up.
I’ve never seen/heard of this game before but any game that gets Potato to say he’s going max beaver has got my interest 😂😂
Right? I heard him say that and I instantly looked towards the comments

this series is 10/10
The later prestige levels start to become so hard. Its a really well done difficulty scaling system.
glad you are playing this again, reminded me that i own this game and should play it again
The title alone just shows the trauma Terra invicta inflicted on poor potato. REST WELL MAN AND now i shall enjoy this video
"dichotomy" is not innately negative... ying/yang is a dichotomy. man/woman is a dichotomy...
I was expecting you to get back into this game since its Epic Games exclusivity will be ending soon. November 1st on Steam! Wishlist it, Spuddies!
So glad you brought this series back!

I've been waiting for you to do more Against the Storm! It's so fun.
Bought AtS after watching your last video - played the living hell out of it in the past few weeks. Great recommendation!
This hits steam on November 1st, I believe.
Amazing, glad you picked this up again !
Such a nice relaxing and fun game after that tense roller coaster ride of the Terra Invictus roller coaster ride
This game will release on Steam on the 1st of November, as its exclusivity deal with Epic will be over.
I love that I returned to this game at the exact same time Potato did.

Love this game.
Is it possible to get a lil series out of this 🙏🙏🙏
With the path around the hearth, I always leave a 1 tile gap for decorations later
This game isn't getting enough love it deserves, hopefully the Steam and GOG early access release changes that
As soon as you mention a game I haven’t heard of, it goes on my steam wishlist.
More Terra Invicta Potato! You owe those aliens some serious payback...
I look forward to this releasing on steam but until then I always enjoy watching these.
Always love this game and watching you play it. Hope to see some move videos of it soon!
Dont forget to produce surplus of planks, sap, cloth and bricks for Dangerous Glades requirements. Sometimes you need incense, but is rare.
my favourite game you're playing! this was a really exciting run. would be nice to see you try and do an "aesthetic run" where you try and make a large beautiful city

was that the end of TErra Invicta ?
