I need you two, to play this game together. I know it's not Multiplayer, but we need some kind of collab of these creators on this specific game. I would love to see Brit break this game and your collab videos are always gold.
I'm not sure yet if I like this game. But somehow, this game and Potato are a perfect fit and I massively enjoy watching. If this is going to be a full series, I'll definitely watch every video.
Potato: "So we can make Ale, we just, can't do the actual drinking part yet." Me: "Yes, because everyone knows you can't drink at your house, alone, in the dark... well you can, but maybe don't?"
All these city and civilization management games, I almost never finish them because I get all my enjoyment out of the first few hours. This game is going to be the end of me. It's quite literally distilled cocaine to me.
From a visual standpoint, I love the deep hues of all the colors in this game. It's a beautiful game. It may seem superficial, but I've slowly come to realize how much something "simple" like this can impact my enjoyment of a game.
People will go on and on about how "graphics don't matter"... but a game with an engaging art style and interesting visuals can enhance engagement so much.
Finally! After your last sessions I got obsessed but found absolutely no other youtuber who scratched my itch for this game. I love the way you articulate your thoughts and I love the subtle editing to speed things up :)
I bought this game when it was still on the epic store and I am afraid to look at how many hours I've spent playing this game. It's such a good game. I am super happy you recommended it.
@@miguelmackay4851 No it was eventually added to Steam, but I had literally never used the Epic store outside of buying this game and Old World. Exclusive release or whatever.
I’ve never even heard of this game but I love the way you explain and talk through things as you play. I actually feel like I could buy it and start playing at decent level. Great video
I would HIGHLY recommend this game to any one , I bought it as soon as it released on epic and been having a blast and they keep making game better and better def worth a buy
Tip from my playthroughs never take an early needs building like market ect. You generally wanna chose those based on what resources you have on hand. Early workshop with starting prcessed mats is op however, missed opportunity lol. Part of playing though you learn as you go.
would love to see more of ATS. in my opinion the carpender is op atleast if you have beavers the chance for double yields is awesome in addition with the toolproduction ^^
I love how you tell your folks, "no more education!" until end game. Making consumption laws always make me giggle too. This game is basically a benevolent dictator simulator :D
This game is so good, it doesn´t go to the complex bullshit that other games go as fast as them, has a lot of replayability and a risk/reward system that you can prepare for and work towards winning the game
Love that Against the Storm is back, its also nice that one run is one episode. Makes it easier to follow, as you don't need to remember what happend last episode.
LOL! I was just bemoaning yesterday that none of my usual UA-cam suspects were playing Against the Storm lately, what with all the latest updates. Love this game, and love watching you play it, Potato.
Glad you've had reviewied it. When I discovered this gem I was so captivated I played for a few days straight, love basically every aspect of it and looking forward to what it'll become on release. And music is awesome as well.
Oh hell yeah. I forgot how much I loved watching this game. You actually got me into playing this for a while before my old computer broke. Guess I've got no choice but to go download it again.
I don’t know how well these non-4X games videos perform for you relative to other stuff, but I personally get VERY excited when I see one. I particularly liked Against the Storm the last time you showcased it, and I’m happy to see you play some more of it. :)
Saw you play this the last time and was intrigued. Now I'm just flat out excited. Damn you, Potato, you've gotten me to buy more games than just about any other!
I would love to see more of this content! This game seems so simple on the surface, but the more you explain your thoughts the more I see how much depth there is in the strategy.
Bought this game first time you showed it and did a full playthrough. The game IS alot of fun, however the general difficulty is pretty low. Throughout the entire playthrough (50-60 maps or so) I did not fail a single one. I hope they added on the difficulty since last time I played, because these games only have longevity if it keeps challenging you.
This looks really cool! I haven't played many city builders, but I've liked the couple I have played. Always felt this kind of pressure and danger from the environment would help the gameplay cycle, rather than only the struggle of balancing food and population.
I am very excited for this game. I tend to not like city builders that are too sandbox-y, without any objectives or goals (and in some cases, little real challenge). This seems like the opposite of that, and I'm here for it.
Seems like a fun learning experience! They grabbed a lot of good stuff from games and combined them. Giving it a chance, bought it on Epic in sale and used creator code POTATOMCWHISKEY :)
I really liked playing Icuras for the same reason as this. It's got all the elements of a survival game, with base building but the mission scales are really small, and you can beat a planet in a few hours if you wanted to or a month, your choice. But you always get that fun, building a base from scratch expirience but every time you get a lot better at it
Holy crap that was cool. I'm definitely grabbing this one! It tackles my main problem with city builders by having the game end at the right moment. Not to mention the mechanics it takes from other games like Frost Punk and Kingdoms Reborn are made to fit the setting and playstyle. Love how the devs can make a game can do a core mechanic better then the game it comes from.
Love when you play this game! I totes understand your brand, and what works for you. Hopefully you get enough positive feedback to add this tonthe rotation. Keep it up spuddy.
U turned me on to this game last year and since, ive played all the way through u have introduced me to so many great games including this gem godbless you potato
I finally broke and got it from EGS and this game has eaten so much of my life. It's like my ideal game. Thanks for introducing it to me last time you played it taters.
I feel like the beginning of this video is the largest fire hose of game mechanics, but I’m still intrigued enough to take some ibuprofen and keep watching
It's only limited buildings you can move (camps and woodcutters f.e.) and some of those can only be moved for a price (farms and houses). It's a nice mix where you still have to think about placement but don't have to constantly rebuild buildings that move from resource to resource.
Got it the first time you showcased it, waiting for updates and a lot has changed in the months I haven't played! Also I can see that clicking the "Orders complete" prompt still doesn't open the orders window, just highlights a small button on the other side of the screen/ They really ought to change that.
Yo! They have changed some stuff since you last played. If i understood it correctly you now choose the difficulty when you embark and the rewards are based on the difficulty you picked.
This game looks like its a sequel to Thea the Awakening. Identical art, and similar style. Anyone know anything about this google isnt helping much here?
Hey! Dev here. We're using the same licensed icon pack as Thea: The Awakening (and V Rising and couple other games). Icons are the only graphic assets which we didn't create in-house. The pack helps us deliver new content updates swiftly. We are, however, already working on creating custom icons ^^
Great job. The only thing I don't like is the colors of the settlement. But the game mechanics, random events, development choices make for a fun challenge. Bug free.
Love Against the Storm content (especially Potato's), there is almost none of it around. Just waiting for it to come to Steam at the end of the year to buy it (since I don't use Epic)
This was a bloody fun watch! Always seen this game pop up but never got invested in it. Now I am sold! So make more videos!!!!
I agree with this gentleman!
I'm betting this game is too balanced for you to break. Prove me wrong?
its pretty fun, but the games take sooo long, so you have to use th 2x but their is no down time
I need you two, to play this game together. I know it's not Multiplayer, but we need some kind of collab of these creators on this specific game. I would love to see Brit break this game and your collab videos are always gold.
I can not wait to see how "perfectly balanced" this game is 🤣
I'm not sure yet if I like this game. But somehow, this game and Potato are a perfect fit and I massively enjoy watching. If this is going to be a full series, I'll definitely watch every video.
Finally there it is again! I loved your previous videos on against the storm and I'm glad it is back :)
I've been casually asking for this game for a while after that first UA-cam let's play
Potato: "So we can make Ale, we just, can't do the actual drinking part yet."
Me: "Yes, because everyone knows you can't drink at your house, alone, in the dark... well you can, but maybe don't?"
All these city and civilization management games, I almost never finish them because I get all my enjoyment out of the first few hours.
This game is going to be the end of me. It's quite literally distilled cocaine to me.
because majority of them are simply too... "simple" and shwallow as fuck. Most simple dont seem to understand what makes a city builder great
Quite literally.
From a visual standpoint, I love the deep hues of all the colors in this game. It's a beautiful game. It may seem superficial, but I've slowly come to realize how much something "simple" like this can impact my enjoyment of a game.

The only problem with utilizing beavers for carpentry is they might eat the merchandise on the job! LOL!
I bought this game when it was still on the epic store and I am afraid to look at how many hours I've spent playing this game. It's such a good game. I am super happy you recommended it.
did they remove the game from the store? or what happened?

I recently came back to this game and I was thinking "hey, it's been a while since PotatoMcWhiskey did a video about it". And here we are.
more of this please! Absolutely loved this series when you uploaded it back then:)
Tip from my playthroughs never take an early needs building like market ect. You generally wanna chose those based on what resources you have on hand. Early workshop with starting prcessed mats is op however, missed opportunity lol. Part of playing though you learn as you go.
I agree, workshop is one of the best building you can get early game
would love to see more of ATS.

Yesss. Potat finally playing this again. I love how you're making videos on this game. One of my fav series honestly.
One of the very few games I bit my tongue for and bought it on Epic. Very much worth it, even if I'd prefer to have it on steam.
I love how you tell your folks, "no more education!" until end game. Making consumption laws always make me giggle too. This game is basically a benevolent dictator simulator :D

Love that Against the Storm is back, its also nice that one run is one episode.
Makes it easier to follow, as you don't need to remember what happend last episode.
What a cliffhanger teaser ending, the impossible no orders start, I hope potato does it!
KathrineofSky played this for a while, and it was fun to watch her go through it. I'm super stoked to see you go for it as well.
Yesssss another Against the Storm video, my prayers (and comment) have been answered. Thank you Potato!
LOL! I was just bemoaning yesterday that none of my usual UA-cam suspects were playing Against the Storm lately, what with all the latest updates. Love this game, and love watching you play it, Potato.

"We've satisfied...2...4... most the beavers." Potato McWhiskey, 2022. Out of context sure but it IS a quote.
Hyped to watch a play through of this as a mini series on each difficulty
I have far too many hours in this game! Would love to see more videos about it from you!

Thanks for explaining step by step. This explained the game to me in such a short time.
This was great! Would be happy to watch another run of this game.

Just a tip, best to not open normal/small glades and just open the dangerous ones. This will be much helpful specially on higher difficulty stages :)

Great video with good explanations and commentary. Looking forward to some higher difficulty runs!
