I currently have a TV with a centre pedestal and would always look for the same when I need to replace. However, yes, this is a great idea if you want a particular TV that has legs on. Thank you for sharing. 😃
Great idea! It always scares me when TV's are just 'placed' on a surface, especially when low down where little folk can pull it on to themselves, or high up where it could get dislodged. I always secure it somehow, usually with a cable tie around the feet through a hole in the stand. Just saying!
The Imperial System is a foreign creation based on measures used by the Roman Empire and modified by the French Normans in 1066 who introduced the ounce. The Metric System was recommended by a British Parliamentary Select Committee in 1862, 1864 Metric Act and by British Standards Commissioners in 1869. Decimalisation was recommended in 1819 but only after measures and weights were standardised. Source UK Metric Association.
I love the look of this newer design, even easier to keep the dust away, but very awkward for a TV bench as the old design with the *usually dusty* base in the middle was a bit more practical I suppose 😂
i finally purchased my first ever flat screen tv last week. Never owned one before because my old crt tv gave up after 20 years. Very annoyed when my tv arrived as no scart socket on tv. I still use a vhs recorder. Had to get special adaptors. my tv fitted ok on my old tv unit
@@lords-electrical they dont want people to carry on using old technology. I am not interested in new technology. I only replace things when they pack up. No point getting rid of things if they still work. Had my same smartphone for 7 years now
I had the same sort of problem. I live in a studio flat so I'm limited on space for stands and cabinets. My old one was too narrow for the legs on my new tv. I wanted a new stand with storage space built in, but couldn't find anything anywhere that matched the same height as my old stand and also have the same sort of width (anything for the height I was looking for ended up being a sideboard). So after months of trying to figure things out and looking around online, I came up with a solution of a low standing TV cabinet with storage and a TV pedestal to go on top of the low cabinet where I could fit the TV to it using the vesa mounts. Took me a while to get the right size stand, but got there in the end. A tv stand is always worth looking at as a solution. Shame I cannot upload pics here to show you and everyone my solution lol. Love your channel btw, its nice to see some independent electrical shops still going, we used to have a couple here in Reading, but sadly they are disappearing. And your channel has helped me pick and choose a few electrical items in the past. Thanks
Dear Andy, i must say... you did a great job, once again. Someone should offer you a job as a voice-over. I am thinking of instruction video's. For i do believe that there will be a market for that. I know it must sound funny, yet i am quite certain about this. Well.... it matters not. For you are happy being where you are, right? So, thank you once more. Blessings to you and your kin. Amen. 🙏😇❤️
What a brilliant idea !
Totally agree a center pedestal is way better but that stand is super cool. #standwithAndy
Yes as a TV engineer of may years in the UK I've seen this a million times.

Cheers for that, I left my mum a temporary piece of plywood for her stupid wide footed TV, it's only been there 2 years awaiting a permanent solution.
Good info. Thanks!
More television reviews please

Thanks so much for the enlightenment...👍
I’ve just been looking at a Hisense 100inch tv in Richer Sounds. My concern is that the room wall is not big enough to fit the new tv to. 😂

Today I learned....👍

Yes unfortunately the majority of flat screen tv’s haven’t had scart sockets for years

Would love to know who does the market research for the TV companies tbh…
That's a great idea.

That would be great, thank you so much for the kind feedback 🤗
Is the TV stable enough with the feet only 20 cm apart?
Yes it is fine with the feet 20cm apart
Most people these days bolt them to the wall.
That’s why new TVs have massive stands because the new Tv av Stands are normally 1800 long
Or you go to Home Depot and pick up one shelf piece and put that on top of your existing tv cart. I was able to go from a 43” to a 65” tv doing this.
Good idea as an alternative 👍
Except a lack of Home Depot in the UK
I knew I was going to buy a centre pedestal off Amazon before I bought my LG g2.
I wish I’d seen this before. I bought a new cabinet that cost more than the tele 😂
I would appreciate if you put the measurements in inches cannot relate to the foreign rubbish.
Literally no one cares!!!
