Alien Facehugger Model: I intended to put the link I found for the facehugger model here. However, after looking into it a bit further I found that the facehugger cast I found on etsy is a recast of someone else's work. I am a big supporter of those who create props and take the time to cast these as kits for sale to others in the makers space. So unfortunately, since I can not confirm that this cast is original I won't be able to post a link for that kit.

I like what you said at the end of the video. It does not have to look perfect. It’s a learning experience for you. You grow, & learn more about your crafting skills. You have inspired a new generation of builders 🎉.
Awesome. Thank you
Anyone who criticizes that alien containment tube as “not screen accurate “ can pound sand
LOL!!! Thank you!
i do sand for 99p cheaper than a pound ....only 300g bags
We have 30 or 40 of these in our lab, They're all different. Each manufacturer has its own design and power requirements. It all depends on which off-planet supplier you get them from and exactly what kind of creature your putting in stasis.
I love how you can make these videos so well, if anyone else made them it would come of cringy but you make it fun and interesting
Sry much appreciated! There is a fine line between cringe and not, we just hope that we lean more towards the “not”. Thanks for watching!
That is gorgeous!!
It looks awesome.
Amazing build!
Brilliant project!
As always, an incredible build
Thanks again!
You did an incredible work of Art!! Amazing!!
Amazing, you made my day.
True artist, true magic. Your the Boss. Thank you.
LOL!!! Thank you very much, glad you made your Tuesday a little more exciting!
Absolutely love it! The car part gribblie made a perfect addition to the project!!!
The light dimming to show off the LEDs was awesome!
Thank you, so glad to hear you liked it!
Another beautiful project
Thank you!
Wow, That turned out really well!!
Thank you, we were pretty excited with how it turned out too!
Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love this! Alien (and Aliens) is one of my favorite space movies... you captured the look so well. I appreciate you making a point that it doesn't need to be a perfect replica to still be amazing. Congrats on 5000! You definitely deserve it!
Thank so much! We are huge fans of both movies. Alien is actually my 2nd fav of all time. So glad you liked it!
Love it !
Thank you!
Great job.
Thank you!
Fantastic work!
Thank you!
This is absolutely fantastic!
Thank you!!!
Great build!
Much appreciated!
Ooooh awesome build! That's a great tip about the plastic sheet, and it gives me an idea for making a Venom containment unit now...
Loving the creativity and attention to detail given to this project inspiring indeed.
Thank you!!!
Amazing as always. Congrats on 5k!
Thank you so much, and for being a big part of that 5k ;)
As always, awesome build!
Thank you!!
IMHO this is your best work! well done!
Wow! Much appreciated!!!

Whooohooo! So glad you liked it!
Pretty darned awesome. Well done.

Much appreciated my friend!!! Thank you!
⭐⭐⭐Fantastic work!⭐⭐⭐
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!!
Another great video, this is one of my favorite channels!
Thank you so much!
Awesome, as usual!
Thank you!
Totally awesome! 👍
Thank you!!!!
Wow mate this is darn impressive. The paint job on that face hugger is bang on. Does a great job in bringing out all those textures.
Thank you! I’m still a total noob with the airbrush and I was positive that I would ruin it! Thanks for watching!
That looks unreal mate! Great work!!
Thank you so much!
This is super rad!
Thank you!
Great video! Looks super legit
Thank you!!!
Dude, you are a beast! It only took 10 years, but UA-cam finally suggested a channel that I want to binge the content on.
Great stuff!
James Buggemo LOL!!! Thank you, so glad you found our channel!
Another fantastic job my friend!
Thank you sir!!!
Great job you should be extremely proud. It definitely could be used as a movie prop. Fantastic KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO
Thank you so much, we really appreciate it!
That looks phenomenal and what a great solution to using a solid tube, another awesome build!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on the subscribers so deserved for such a great channel.
Thank you!!! And thank you for always watching!
Man, your projects are awesome...you deserve an alien's hug
LOL, Thank you much!
First of all, congratulations for the 5000 👏👏
Awesome project and funny video as always 😉👍 honestly I've been looking to build someting like this for years, who knows probably now is the time, thanks for the good ideas 😉
Thank you so much Ivan, so glad you enjoyed it and I hope you try it for yourself!
Congrats on 5k!!👍😁
Much appreciated
Nicely done my friend. 🔥🔥🔥
Very much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Excellent tee shirt by the way.
Thank you for this. I am working on a similar prop that requires a clear tube, but the ridiculous cost of such a tube has prohibited me from moving forward with it. You have solved that problem and now I can get started on it. It's a Petrucite Container from Killzone Shadow Fall. Thank you, so much and keep up the awesome work.
So glad we could help! Thank you for watching!
WOW MIND BLOWN!!!!! That thing came out awesome. ***slow clap and standing ovation**** Reminds me of the the one Odin made on the Awe me channel a few years back(he did the same thing with a flat sheet for the tube) but next level stuff here. I'm not knocking him both of you are great builders on your own. Keep up the awesome work this was definitely worth the wait.
Thank you!!! Funny enough, i just watched his episode this morning. When I uploaded I saw his video with a similar title. I love Odin, and I am shocked I never saw his build before. I wish I would have credited him with the Concrete Tube because he did it first . . . and here I thought I was original. LOL!
Oh very cool! And the tip about CA glue on bolts is great!
Thank you! Hope that’s helpful for ya on a future project.
@@TheSmugglersRoom I'm betting it will be!
Yet another you have nailed it.
Huge huggs!
Thank you!!!!!!
Thank you so much.
Another tip top build Brian. Keep it up
Thank you so much!
Another awesome build! Great job 👍 thanks to you and Odin from Odin makes I'm gonna build my own stasis tube.
Thank you! Yeah, I literally just saw his video when I uploaded this morning. Great build from him. I wish I had seen that before so I could have credited him on the concrete tube part.
@@TheSmugglersRoom I Kno thanks to you and your not screen accurate, I can start my own sci fi space which I've Ben hisitant to do but now I realize I can still be in my fav universe by just letting my inner geek out! Thanks alot for the insperation to be me
Brian, The origin of the part you questioned is used in combustion but not on an automobile engine. The part is a combustion air blower from a residential Carrier furnace. I was extremely happy to see you use the blower housing to contain the Facehugger. Awesome job!!! Also, I'd like to give kudos to your folks for making an awesome Chubby Geek from nothing.
Hey there!!!! Thanks so much for letting us know, and thank you for the amazing gift sir! So much appreciated!!!!
(Standing up and clapping!!!) Well DONE!!!! Well Done indeed Sir!!! I am very much enjoying your channel! Awesome build for sure.
Thank you so much!!! 🤣🤣. Thanks for watching!
Few quick questions for you...At PlastiCare's website, which polycarbonate sheet did you order ? What was the thickness ? And how was it shipped to you? Thank you in advance :)
This reminds me of the tube thing that is used for the face hugger named Spike from the computer game Space Quest 5 of the 90s computer game era.
How does this channel not have more subs. Just subbed.
952ferrari thanks so much, welcome to The Smugglers Room!
I used to go to this laxer tag/arcade place that had a face hugger rigged to smack into a window when you tried to look into it. It was awesome.
Awesome!
Great Chanel great projects . Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you very much!
Ur channel is so much fun 👻
Thank you!!!
ohhhhhhhhhhhhh hell yeah :) this video has made my day
LOL!!! Awesome, so glad to hear it!
you should make your own Tardis console
that would be cool to see
Now this I can relate to a bit more than the STAR WARS vids (since I was efx super on ALIENS). A lot more fun watching this than being on that film!
So bad ass
Another Greebly source you might want to consider - get to know the physical plant and science department of a local college. I used to work for a small college and they threw out * tons * of stuff..Contact them, tell them who you are and what you want the stuff for, and you will likely get a response. They may even save stuff for you.
Many colleges have surplus sales as well. It's worth looking into. Old lab glassware makes great props...any college physical plant has tons of scrap...just a thought.
Oh wow! That is such a great idea. Thanks for sharing that!
I run a Haunted House, and I've never been able to find big cheap clear tubes for this kind of thing. Your solution is the best I've come across. Thanks.
Oh yeah!!! These would work for all kinds of haunted house props. Pretty cheap
Material and I found it was pretty easy to work with.
@@TheSmugglersRoom on a scale of 'it'll be a horrible disaster' to 'should work just fine' what do you think the chances are that one of these could be made to hold water? Because we both know that's the ultimate goal ☺️
That's some impressive "containment"
Thank you my friend!
Love your work also just wanted to say u sound like Patton Oswald
It’s cool, and works for anything. You’re awesome. See you next week!
P.S. The aurabesh says “Alien”
LOL, thank you! And yes . . . you are correct!
Another great source for big sheets of styrene is signs. You can buy a "Yard Sale" sign for a couple dollars, and it's like 6 square feet of plastic.
That’s a great idea! Thank you!
now I want me an alien container...awesome prop
Good!!! Go do it! You’ll have a blast. We totally enjoyed making it.
Make one that has a motion sensor that triggers the face hugger to attempt to attack you.
I'm not sure about moving the face hugger around, but we are planning to put this tube in the Smugglers Room project, and incorporate that into the space with a motion triggered blast of smoke or air plus a sound effect when you walk up to it. Will that work? 😀
Well I would make a mold of this one and make the new one out of latex. After all they do have more then one in the movie. It would take allot more thinking threw. If had the money I would build a full ship and make it actually simulate things like space flight and ship operation. But I would make it so that I could make any ship simulate flight including the Falcon. But I am just a poor boy. Also if I ever get my Quacer Productions project off the ground I would love your help.
😎
Great project. I love it. What would be neat is if you could have had some kind of motion detector or presence detector then had the hugger convulse at a random time. It would freak people out.
Thank you! You are 100% correct. We plan to have it installed in our room project and then motion trigger sound and either smoke or a blast of air when you approach it. That would definitely freak someone out!
@@TheSmugglersRoom Anything unexpected would really help with the mood and fit of the films I think. :)
I would have considered a train set mini fogger to put a bit of atmos in the tube, it is however stunning, as is very very very impressed.
Thank you so much! That digger addition is a great idea. When we bring this into the basement project we’ll definitely need to add that!
Superb! Really enjoy your content even though I’m more into Tiki props. Your workmanship inspires me. Do you know of any Master Tiki Prop Artists? Thanks
Man! Everytime you do a new video i want to do it too! Damn, now i want a facehugger container
LoL, sorry my friend, that’s how I roll!!
The Smugglers Room not at all! You inspire me!
Late to the game, but if you wanted to go the absurd route, Charlotte Diamond (90s children's multi-lingual entertainer) "Four Hugs a Day" for facehugger's favourite song. ;)
Man! I wanna come to one of YOUR Tupperware parties! 😂
😆😆😆 Outstanding!!!
This is beautiful! Great job! Can you give some more information on what colors you used for airbrushing the facehugger?
Thank you! Absolutely. I used a brand called Model Air, and the colors were; Sand Yellow, Burnt Umber, Signal Red, and Rust Red. I will put links to those specific paints in the show notes for you.
Beautiful and amazing work. If only you could have added water.
Water would have been sweet. It's too bad the solid tubes of this size are so expensive.
The Smugglers Room there’s way it can be done.
Stunning! Congrats on the subs😊 Now, if I only had some 10x24mm caseless ammunition...
LOL!!! Thanks man!
The Weyland Yutani sticker threw me for a loop for a second. Hey, aren't they from Firefly? Once I checked, I found they are apparently from quite a few 'verses - Alien, Firefly, Prometheus and Bladerunner to name a few. Busy group. Love your work.
Right? They are a very busy group! Thanks so much for watching!
What about spraying a clear coat to make it look a bit more "fresh from the egg"? Might give this a go..
Loving your videos! Any chance you could let us know a few more details on how you glued / lined up / measured the acrylic to fit?
I'm looking to do something similar for "Luke's Hand", but also reminiscent of one used in Doctor Who.
Robert Porter hey there, thank you! Do you mean measurements to fit the wood inserts I made? If so, I made the acrylic tube by using the concrete form in the video, then I measured the diameter of the acrylic tune I formed, and then cut the circle inserts to fit perfectly.
As far as glue, I just used Weld-On for acrylic. There are different types of Weld-On for different materials. This was Weld On 3. But you could check your material and type before you get it.
Hope that helps!
Question: Have companies reached out to you with job offers? Your vision and skills are excellent, not to mention the overall video production.
Thank you for the kind words. We’ve had some nice opportunities along the way, maybe there will be more in the future! Thank you for watching!
another inspiring pro build, thank you mate, looks really really good!
4th favourite movie?? whats your top 5 favs?
Thank you so much! I’ll fill you in on the other 4 soon . . . 😳
@@TheSmugglersRoom OK mate, be interesting to see what yours are :)
This was an amazing 🎉 work of art 🖼️. It looks like it’s right from the movie 🎥. If the empire had this biological weapon. Things would have turned out much differently. *(May the Force be with you, always). - STAR ⭐️ WARS.
🤣🤣🤣, thank you
Turned out great! I had one of those kits from the RPF years and years ago. No idea what ever happened to it. Lost in a move I think.
Oh no! What a bummer. I kept mine and would bump into it every now and then. Every time I would think of this project and say “not yet.” LOl, not sure why.
@@TheSmugglersRoom well the wait was worth it!
That looks great! Now I want to see you make the egg the face hugger comes from. Maybe motorized so it opens. ;)
Thank you! And YES we want to build an egg too . . . would love it to be motorized!
I built eggs years ago using chicken wire, paper mache, and plastic bags from the grocery store.
If you cut the bags down the side and flame kiss them with a torch (takes some practice) they wrinkle up and look a lot like the skin on the outside of the eggs.
That part looks to be an inducer motor fan shroud. Does your friend repair home heat and air?
Yep, that was exactly what he told us later!
I’m going to try and imitate this , what thickness mdf and poly did you use ?
Whoohooo!
What do you do for a living? Do you work in film or tv production, or is this your livelihood (as well as, er, your hobby-hood)? Just curious, as i just stumbled upon your videos.
I think I'm going to send you some P.H.E.T. sensors and our ARD-NEX and vectors for milling pockets (for them) - that can be our collab.
Still would really love a collab, let’s do it!
i think i have a facehugger model comming from the same mold! its pvc right? very difficult to glue together!
Hey there! The kit I bought is actually resin, and that made for a super easy glue up. I do wish I would have ran some armature wire through the facehugger so it could have been posable, but all in all it was pretty easy and fun to create.
@@TheSmugglersRoom i have 2 videos here on youtube on how i have painted my modelkit! i dont own a airbrush yet so i did it with brusches! i think the result is as good as it can get with this technik! i would be honored if u check this out and tell me what u think!
8:36 looks like iron-mans arc reactor
You know what the underside of the Facehugger kinda reminds me of?
ZZ Top-- give me all your loving, all your hugs and kisses too!!
LOL!!! LOVE IT!
Facehugger in ice ( resin ) or Carbonite
