- Today we accept a challenge to Star Wars a Beer Fridge! These great mini fridges fit in all kinds of great places. However they typically are void of any kind of design. So how about we add a little Star Wars flare to it!
We are not alone in this challenge, and you should also check out the other Star Wars Beer Fridge makers.

About two months ago I got five 5-gallon paint can pour spouts from a friend. I instantly knew they were the thermal exhaust ports above my built-in fridge once I painted them white. Added some red LEDs to them and they glow red because they were translucent orange and the white paint isn't so thick to keep them opaque. So I've been looking at my plain fridge for a month thinking I needed to do something with it. Now I know exactly what it needs and where to put the Droid Data Terminal kit that I got from you that I'm putting together now. Thanks again for the inspiration!
Completely ridiculous, over-the-top... and I love it!!! Great job.
Saw the nod to the release years of the original Trilogy, 77, 80 and 83. Nice touch!
😉
There are other trilogies? 😉
Nick Boylen prequels, can’t think of any others though
You nailed the brief on this! Really great result on the fridge and thank you for the detail instruction along the way. Time for a frothy Fat Bantha!
Thank you very much! So glad you liked it!
I'm always fascinated by how well these builds turn out, in their final state. You do some fantastic work!
So much appreciated my friend. So glad to hear you enjoyed it. Now, I think you need one for your theater! LOL
I think you need more SW inspired decor in that workshop, GREAT JOB!
I think so too!
That fridge looks awesome...Congratulation for another great piece of art
I like that, and thank you!
Great video Brian! I used similar methods when I did my run of Fallout Nuka Cola mini fridges last year and the year before. One neat trick I found on the fridges that have the clear glass viewing window to see inside: give it several light coats of glow in the dark paint. It’ll remain mostly transparent, and when the lights get turned off, a spooky glow shines through like its radioactive! :D
thanks! that's a great suggestion, especially since we do have one like that in the basement that we'll have to sci-fi soon here! Thank you for watching, and for your support!
Now this i want in my house.
You can get a small mini fridge for a small investment and custom it for your home! Otherwise, we may actually sell some every now and then on our website!
Beautiful! Suggestion for a challenge: Star Wars-ed Santa's Sleigh Christmas decoration. I know it's summer, but something like that needs lead time. Think about it. It could be epic.
Love your stuff, but now I'm cursed. I'm seeing greeblies everywhere. My wife thinks I'm insane for saving lids and plumbing parts.
I may be single soon. Just kidding.
That's a very interesting idea! Though we strive for Halloween every year, we could think about this idea in November! It's funny about the greeblies, we too see them everywhere we go, our juice lid collection is ridiculous!
This came out so...ahem...cool. 😁 I love the way this looks! It's so much more than just a bit of a mod to the front. Now I'm wondering how long it's going to be before the entire workshop is Star Warsed!
thank you! the intent is that the whole workshop is Star Warsed / Sfi-Fied... it's for sure coming along, bit by bit! Thank you for watching!
Very well done!
And even Hoth themed figures in the fridge!
Thank you!
Build a beer-droid. Can be beer can shaped or simply a beer-dispensing bot!
I support your movement of all beer should be served cold! :)
Indeed, indeed.... thank you for watching!
Awesome! Madcow is the godfather of the custom lightsaber scene. I really like the suspenseful music/dubstep you mixed into this video. The production value of your youtube channel is always getting better!
THANK YOU! We try to improve constantly, and always looking for great tunes. Right now it's all about being fun and upbeat, something you can bob around to in your chair or on your sofa! Thank you for watching.
Amazing! I've been looking for something to turn into a droid interface and I think you may have just provided the answer. I guess I'll have to reluctantly keep a stock of cold beer in the shop then... it's a hard life.
RIGHT!!! Good luck with that idea! Thank you for watching
This is just...pretty. I've been following you for a few months now (and gone back and watched...almost everything), and honestly, you haven't missed at all. Ever. And this is just...this is Star Wars craft goals. If I'm able to to build the Star Wars themed room that I'm hoping for, this is so going to be included. Thanks for sharing this build (and for that matter ALL of your builds) with us other chubby geeks. Here's to continuing making something out of nothing!
Thanks so much 😊We are so glad you have enjoyed the builds, and thank you for watching! Can[t wait for you to start your own room!!!!
This came out fantastic as per usual! LOVE YOUR BUILDS!
Glad you like them! Thanks for the kind words!
That was cool!
Excellent idea! Love it!
Ideas.... so many ideas!!! I need to do this to my deep freeze in my shed and to a mini fridge for those 115 degree days!
Thanks for another awesome build Brian!
YES! Do it! Thanks for watching!
Hi! I look forward eagerly to each new Smuggler's Room video. Your cheery approach has been brightening my weeks throughout lockdown, and the techniques are practical, accessible, and adaptable. I like that you also have shown when things don't go quite to plan, and give alternatives to using expensive items. Thanks for encouraging me!
Thank you so much for the kind words! We can’t tell how much we appreciate it!!!
This is absolutely brilliant! You’ve really outdone yourself with this build. Can’t wait to see what else you’ve got lined up.

Top Left small type : COOLING SYSTEM
Top Right small type: BEER ONLY
Center Door Panel: BEER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Clever use of the the Aurebesh! My wife and I have been binging your channel ever since we saw you get a shout out from Bob @ I Like To Make Stuff. You've definitely reawakened the Prop Master in me (I was a Stage Theatre technician and prop maker during high school and college). Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Thank you! You nailed it. So glad you are enjoying what we are doing. Thank you for coming over for a look!
In all honesty, a fridge is one of the first things I was going to 'Star Wars' when I get my own place, so this is going to come in GREAT handy!! 😆👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you very much for this vid
That's a great plan!!! good luck with getting a house and injecting Star Wars into your decor! Thank you for watching!
Now i need one to go under my desk/workbench. And i noticed that fat tire in there, niiiice choice!
That would be fantastic! Fat-Tire all the way!!
Love this kind of stuff
So glad you enjoyed it!
I spotted the references on those numbers, like the years of the Star Wars Original Trilogy like: 1977 for A New Hope, 1980 for The Empire Strikes Back, and 1983 for Return of the Jedi.
Yes indeed!
Love the finished product. Wonder if it could be done to a full sized fridge
Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome work!
Much appreciated
Dude, you're amazing! Great work!
Thank you very much!

Wife and I just bought our first home (yay!) and we inherited a second fridge that is now the garage fridge. Between your and Robs versions, I know just what to do with my garage fridge! :)

Love this! Can you please post the specific colors of paint you used
That is really cool!
Thank you!
@@TheSmugglersRoom It's so weird seeing large Gribly stuffs.....(looks at the piles of random things collected)....hmm
Once again beautiful job 😇😊🤪😝🤑🤗
Thank you!
Ight, I'm down for this. 😆👌🏼👌🏼
Awesome build! And excelent using the "modelo" beer as weigth! Salud!
Gracias tou, es mi favorito!!
Looks awesome. I like the double paint chipping and all of the different layers. the freezer section would be good for storing apoxie sculpt.
Yes indeed Wayne! Totally agree. Thanks a bunch man!
I like it! A cold beer sounds really good right now...
Amen!
Great work!
Prior to the blackwash it usually helps to gently scuff up the surface with steel wool or those steel pot cleaners so the surface has subtle grooves to hook into (think "brushed" or chafed metal).
Great suggestion! Definitely add that to our process!
Really cool video today
Thank you for watching, we really enjoyed this builds! We have 2 more mini fridges that will need the same love.
That is really great, I love it.
Awesome, thank you!
@@TheSmugglersRoom is it possible to get these Banta beer stickers?
This is freaking awesome!!! I want one now!!
Thank you, so glad you like it!!
@@TheSmugglersRoom i love all your work. It's truly inspiring. I'm planning on doing a star wars themed bathroom. I'm working on the plans currently
Dude you are a genius and my hero!
LOL, Thank you!
Skills... That is awesome.
much appreciated!!!
Doing this to my pelican diesel heater....geek shabby chic
I'm a fan of your channel and I'm also from Colorado (saw your Native Fan) sticker in this video
Awesome! Thank you!
I am inspired! I do not have a laser cutter, but I do have a CNC router.
Your creativity and style reminds me of Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford made them both so iconic roles, impossible to reproduce exactly , but inspired to try nonetheless. Thx for another week of inspiration into geekdom.
HA! I love that, a couple of my favorite characters of all time! Thank you for watching and for your support!
Now the fridge needs to play the cantina song when it is opened.
Love it!
Great music in this vid, mate!
Thank you!!
Would love to see you star wars a Jack Lalanne power juicer, to make mine more fun to use lol.
I rise my glass of Fat Bantha beer to celebrate this wonderful project 🍺
Stunning as always 👏👏 Cheers 🍺
Thank you!!! Always appreciate you watching!
Man, you beat me to it lol. I have an idea for 3d printing a Gonk droid mini fridge. If you build up the nerve to make another fridge, you should try it too haha!
Indeed! We love our droids here at the Smugglers Room, we have plans to do a Gonk in the near future and one idea is to have it be a beer holder! Thank you for watching!
Hey, man, I love your videos, the creativity and attention to detail is just really just phenomenal! Keep up the great, magnificent work!
I also have an idea, you could maybe make one of those Gunk Droids, that’ll be epic.
I have a friend with a whole Star Wars room, I thought they were the biggest fans not anymore 😆
Thank you very much! We really appreciate it! Gonk Droid is 100% on our list!
The Smugglers Room. Excellent! I’m exited to see it!
Totally awesome stuff right here! I'd love to see you custom a PC
Thank you! We have been discussing that a lot!
You are amazing !!!! I am an artist and a big fan of Star Wars. I work mostly with silver and also I make sculptures in brass. I am the seventh generation of my family doing this and I love it. I have a granddaughter of 3 years old and she is a Star Wars fan too. The first word she said in her life was R2!!! 🤣😂🤣I have a list of all the things you have done in your chanel just to do it for her 😁.
Thank a lot and a big hug from Buenos Aires , Argentina 🇦🇷.
Thank you so much 😀!!!! We really appreciate it Carlos! What you do sounds truly amazing! Love that your granddaughter is a fan, and that you and her are able to enjoy it together. Take care of yourself out there and all the best to your family!
The Smugglers Room Thanks for your warm reply. If you want to see my works you can visit my instragram, carlospallarolsok.
My last sculpture was a dragon which you can see by following this link. ua-cam.com/video/VeUSpoSvBeY/v-deo.html. Kind regards and a big hug.
Wish I had the money for a glowforge. This fridge is awesome!
Thank you! Yeah, we saved for a good long while to pick up the glowforge. That said, i have seen several other laser cutters out there that are not too bad on cost.
@@TheSmugglersRoom I'm going to be picking up a Cricut next week, I'll be on my way from there.
Great...now I'm going to need to do this to my mini fridge for my classroom.
YES!!! DO IT!!!
Awesome project! Almost disappointed it didn’t have something to do with a Wampa. Maybe if you do a freezer build....
That would be cool!
Cool video
Thank you and thank you for watching!
This guy is a genius
Dude you’re freaking awesome! I might do that with my mini fridge! Thanks for the idea! Give me a shout out when you can!
Man I wish I had the creativity to build this stuff 😍😍 mabye one day
I have no doubt you could do it! I use Pintrest to get all kinds of ideas. Just go for it, you never know what you can come up with until you try!
Brian, what is your reasoning between using acrylic vs mdf of same thickness? Does acrylic etch or cut easier in glowforge? Just wanted to understand pro and cons between the two better
I'll never understand the people who leave thumbs downs.. Outstanding work.. Thanks for the videos
LoL, thank you! We are always curious what it is they didn’t like.
@@TheSmugglersRoom they didn't like the fact that you can.. And did.. While they live in their mom's basement on minimum wage.. 😜
Allan Chambers 🤣🤣🤣
Totally coooool, get it?!?
LOL, indeed my friend!
Amazing! But now I need a laser :-)
Love you🤣
🍻🍺
LOL!!! Back at Ya!
Waiit, are you in Colorado? Awesome. Me tooo
🤙
Amazing work. Per usual. Except for the laptop, you're wife killed that one.
LOL! Yes she certainly did. I'm a lucky guy!
