Doesn't have to be hubs and chain. There are designs out there that use other things. Round bar works even wooden ones as long as you can attatch them with a bar through them and work out a way to drive them like the chain. I've seen one use cut inner tubes but they seemed to heat up fairly fast.
It’s the quality of what he has laying around that did my head in... those’d be on my bikes lol ... my laying around hubs would need rebuilding and regreasing first... so I just sat on the couch and watched this instead! Feel great now 🤣🤣🤣
I don't want to make Blake's head big but I do like the stuff that pours out so fill it up with as much money as needed to shell more content out to us.
@@gmbn it could be a part series or something, done right you guys could maybe raffle the finished product as well and use the money for future trips or whatevers needed 😀
Hi GMBN, great channel, loving the content. Video idea for these trying times, as the recent videos have shown. Each presenter must have a pretty good stock of old parts. See who can hack and bodge together the best bike. All the best. Del
Blake: I am a master craftsman and can do amazing work on these rollers Also Blake: I have apparently never seen rollers.

I love your whole team, but Blake could have an own channel too and it would be just as enjoyable. These kind of videos, and especially those bikepacking ones when he rides by himself, are really my favorites. Keep it up, guys!
Awesome! Also, here I thought Blake had done a remake of his garage, then it turns out it was only one of them...good on you lad🤘 BUT now we CRAVE a second remake of this one as well. We need inspiration to fix our own lives during this lockdown...!
Totally need to add more chains. One for a fan, one for electricity to charge a battery, and one for a blender. How about one to combo this with the manual machine?
On making things there are two ways, ad hoc as Blake is doing and planned. Planned is easier, quicker, and the chances it'll work are greater. Ad hoc is fun!
What about cutting the hubs in half and putting so allot bar between them to make it wider and more like proper rollers you can buy which means you’ll have more balance and control. Just an idea, loved the vid cheers Blake!
hey there blake, i have a few tips you use to improve your rollers. the first thing is that due to the hubs being skinny, you can not turn to keep the bike upright so you just fall sideways. the second thing is that you mentioned that you could have just put the hubs on the back wheel and not spin the front wheel. this would also not work due to the same reason as i mentioned before. if you were to make the riding surface wider, the rollers would work so much better. hope to see a video where you improve.
Bing-bong Blake my lad, do you have some semi-slicks to use for your Digger? The roller idea is sound, but I'm concerned your dry/wet trail tyres may wear out faster on rollers.
Nice Blake. Thought of countersinking your spindle bolts both sides to give you a bit more width and lateral movement on the rollers/hubs? Should make balancing easier as you effectively widen your balancing point (think how hard it is to ride a bike along a thin painted line accurately).
Hi, could you do a feature on what mtb riders should carry as breakdown/Trailway repairs kit. How can it be carried? Backpack or hip bags, or even strapped to the bike?
Great vid, Blake is the best. Has anyone tried the poc helmets they're always wearing? They're pretty expensive and wasn't sure if they're worth it, or if it's more of a marketing thing.
Great Hack! Just a few points, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, glasses are cheap and can be replaced, where as you cannot grow another eye. Files only cut while pushing them in the forward direction. Looks like you need to raise your seat on the gravel bike? Keep a shop-vac handy for cleaning up your bench.
It’s a challenge because you added that forth roller as the bike is now trying to climb back and forth, scrap that one without the chain and it will be night and day easier
Surly GMBN could easily adapt the GCN one as well. Same company aren't they? So the coding, design etc is most there just need to change the art work and feel a bit and have a few different topics etc.
Greattt!! :D Too bad I dont have spare parts to do that.... :/ I guess ill just stick to the workout heheh but also... Can you do a "how to bunny hop in your back yard"?
Blake! tour us what's inside your garage please! i am just curious how many bikes do you have and stories to tell! thank you! love from your fans in the Philippines!
Do you think you could ride on these rollers? Is this a hack or a bodge? 🤔 let us know 👇
I’d like to think so but probably not
Global Mountain Bike Network no I couldn’t ride on the rollers I would just ride out side
Noooooooope
Global Mountain Bike Network can you make a in-depth tutorial video on how to build a DH bike from the frame up?
When this lockdown is over, Blake needs to team up with Colin Furze....that will be epic...!!
Blake is the greatest presenter , every time the word roadie is mentioned on gmbn they go nuts , blake is special ...
buddy, your profile photo is a road biker, calm down
@@jackcrawshaw3563 ye , cuz i'm a roadie ( and mtber and a gravel dude , a cyclist anyway , and also that's froome)
Free Wheels BOOM! (U forgot to also having gotten back into BMX since ur childhood tho like me lol - 😂)
Oh I just happen to have 5 hubs 1 brake an old chain some rosters and some aluminum just laying around!😄

This video has inspired me to buy a turbo trainer 😂😂😂 good stuff
Adrian Ionut Popescu Hahahaha
🤣
Si pe mine :))) ( Same for me lmao )
🤣
😂😂😂 I watched it instead of going for a quick bike ride and feel just as pleased but with less facemask use haha
Did the manny trainer, did my own stand design, this one I might just skip and buy haha not enough random stuffs hanging round yet
This guy is FUNNY no matter what he does. He can do just about anything on a bike yet stays humble, and did I mention, he is funny.
I miss these video's honestly. Straight up fun and I can taste the honest passion.
Can you make a tutorial on how to build a mountain bike from the frame up?
This would be brilliant deep insight to the dos and donts, what to look for and how to work out measurements for head sets ect
This could be cool for GMBN Tech!
@@gmbn it could be a part series or something, done right you guys could maybe raffle the finished product as well and use the money for future trips or whatevers needed 😀
@@ThisOldPanda That's... That's almost exactly what they already did..
@@th_js yeah?? I need to look further back and watch other videos
Blake's bike / garage workshop build tutorials :)
Yea Tony you will see a lot more of this! 🤘 You think he needs to tidy it a bit? 🤔🤣
After watching Gee Atherton's quick isolation workshop tour this is refreshingly relatable, Blake. Thank you for keeping it real life!
"It's not JUNK, it's TREASURES!!"
I’m in awe of your garage! I thought you had a bunch of “treasures”, then you went into the loft!!! Nuts.
@blake that pen flip was something else 🔥😂
I’m surprised to see that Blake’s garage isn’t spray painted green.
I'm so glad that your ingenious-idea-workspace is so messy - makes me feel like a (messy) genius myself

The problem with people like myself who know all the proper terminology but don’t have nearly this kind of creativity. Blake is my hero
Just more proof that I watch absolutely anything that Blake is in. Loved it
Love this! Im a master finish carp and Im ducking this build. Fully bought the trainer first week of quarantine 🤘

This is the bodgiest thing I've seen in my entire life. Love it.
Now we need Colin furze ti get his jet bike and show it to Blake and his bicycle of springs
I think I will clean up and organize my garage before building my rollers. Blake that was awesome, dude you got skills cheers.
Good idea Marcin!
On making things there are two ways, ad hoc as Blake is doing and planned. Planned is easier, quicker, and the chances it'll work are greater. Ad hoc is fun!
I made rollers out of mine conveyor rollers. To connect the front and back I used a size 24 tube. Works very well.
When you came back in lycra I was laughing soo hard🤣🤣
The Zimbabwean MacGyver
Pienimusta 100% boet.
I´ve been waiting for Blake and Colin Furze working together for a long time, I see this as a step towards that. Keep it up!
Dude you are a genius! Would love to see a hacks and bodges sidechannel with you as the "hackerman"! Great job there!
3x2 and 2x2 ,sorry joiner in me coming out lol
This looks like every project I have ever done. Well done!
What about a GMBN App? This would definitely be siiiiick!!!
Blake is my favourite GMBN guy!
That's very creative use of old bicycle parts well done blake!

Rode the rollers today for warmup and cooldown during my sprint training.
All of that without safety glasses. Hmm..dangerous to be quarantined 😎

Hell of a build Blake .......well done 👍🏽
I guessed rollers in Blake’s story!!👍
Logan Nash good guess dude.
@@Zimblake This needs to go on Hacks & Bodges dude!

Wow,youve got a lot there in your garage, mate.you could actually build a bike from all that treasure.nice.
Kudos Blake, this was a lot of work - we appreciate your efforts! 👍 I also laughed out loud when you fell sideways..

The one that made the DIY Bike Roller was a Filipino Proud Filipino Here😊
Hi, could you do a feature on what mtb riders should carry as breakdown/Trailway repairs kit. How can it be carried? Backpack or hip bags, or even strapped to the bike?
At least Blake rollers are much better than Tom Last's attempt. Using old hubs looks like a better option than rolling pins.
Thanks Lisa! We have to give it to them though, the rolling pin idea was pretty clever! Anyway... Where's Lasty?
Ty for entertainment through lockdown 👍👍

DeepseaPolitician they are good helmets and they are a partner of the channel so they must be good

Good job Blake! Make Bike Roller EVOLUTION version for next. Find Colinfuze, he will add jet engine for the resistance
Loved this! Blake, you're a DIY boss!
I always say it when you've the right tools you're unstoppable
For balance, the front wheel needs to centered over a single spinning roller. I prefer the kitchen roller pins set from an earlier Hacks & Bodges.
love you so much Blake can you start a personal channel where you do more slope style stuff after carona time
Nice work - the engineering background is coming in pretty handy!

Great work, Blake. And really funny in this hart times👍thx dude
u should only use 1 hub in the front, line it up with the fork and its much easier
