I could be wrong, but I think he was the catalyst, the paradigm shift in creating her brand/iconic sound. He created a lot of the songs you want to sing along with; Janet’s voice was the instrument that brought them to life and made them timeless.
Actually, Janet also wrote songs on her Albums as well as writing the guitar riffs and lyrics for her Iconic Rock song Black Cat which was on the Rhythm Nation Album. She wrote the lyrics to all of the songs on that Album which was inducted into The National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress because of its socially conscious content. Janet, Jimmy Jam , and Terry Lewis collaborated on all aspects of her most Iconic Album's and made a unmatched team in the music industry.
He actually was. He was the headman Terry Lewis. Here’s a follow his lead, but he was the head man. That’s what I love Jimmy so much. Even before working with Janet with people like Cherrelle and Alexander O’Neal. His sound is truly remarkable. It is funk R-B . And believe it or not, they even work with Prince and Morris Day

These folks wrote the soundtrack within my life. From Control when I was 8, to Unbreakable when I was 37.......a lot of music, and a lot of memories. Happiness and sadness. Some dark times in there as well. This trio and the music she sang brought me to a better place each and every time. It is why she sits atop my catalogue of the music world. Always has and always will.

Janet Jackson's voice is the muse to her music. Her slow ballads as well as her Pop songs. I have heard other artists try to sing her songs especially during tributes to her and they just don't land for me. Songs like Any time Any Place, I Get So Lonely, Let's Wait Awhile, Escapade..etc are crafted for her. They just don't sound right when other people try and sing them so in other words..STOP lol 😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯 Next month will be my 11th time seeing her live!She is my favorite female performer of all times ,❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥

Blueprint queen was absolutely legendary and can never be compared to another. Honda center 6-9-2024 was top tier performing. Meet and greet she was sweet.
It feels like such an honor to see behind the scenes a bit of what goes on musically to create the amazing experience we had at the show. Hearing Jimmy talk about the music, Janet’s voice and particular gifts was illuminating. I listen to these songs over and over, sometimes in awe of the hidden “ingredients” that make so many of the songs truly captivating, even spellbinding. The level of creative genius and musical mastery in this music still amazes me. What a blessing to hear directly from Jimmy and get a peek into the hidden fabric of the artistry
Man, those quarter, half, and three quarter-spaces of quiet space in the groove flow of the music really makes the music do something.
And, leaving no spaces at all.
And, overlapping, too.
And, that musicians have their hands *on* instruments.

for many of the arenas but I checked out your current system and those subs Mannnnn I've never heard a system so clean and bottom heavy without any noise. It's impressive. Oh my God Jimmy is right. I remember when I used to buy janets albums and I had this ritual. I would do where I wanted to hear all of the instruments meaning the background and the foreground and I wanted to hear the ads clearly so I would put the headphones jack in the jack halfway not all the way, so it would have a sound to where I could hear everything the background, the little instruments, the little dings and bongs. so I understand exactly what he’s talking about is the little things the instruments that you don’t hear but that’s crazy that he said that because I used to do that I used to put the headphones jack halfway in so I can listen to all of the sounds all of the instruments, even Janet’s , beautiful harmonizing for voice. And one thing you will know if you are a Janet fan she loves to harmonize.. and honestly that’s what makes her a true artist.
