Saw Janet in Toronto the 3rd of July with my family! Dancing the entire show. She blew us away! Just jaw dropping off the charts!!! What a force!!! I wanna see her again and again!!!!!
Well this is the thing….her music is historical. She said something that proved true…she’s been in entertainment 51 years….and still able to sell out arenas without dropping music at 58 years old. Even though that’s still young… it’s older in terms of music age. And, she’s smart……she purposely had 4 dancers to put more of a spotlight on her as a performer…..meaning no gimmicks, no huge stage distractions, not 15 dancers….just her! She is one of the greatest performers of all time!
I saw her last year in April and the show was great. Saw her again this past weekend and you are right the show has changed, the set list, the costumes, production....ALL FANTASTIC. The thing with Janet is, she has never really had big productions, like over the top, because she's never needed them and doesn't need them now, her music, dancing & performance spoke for itself. She's the only triple threat performer who doesn't have to take her clothes off, who doesn't need to twerk and have a large amount of female twerker's on stage and she stands on her own autonomy. She doesn't come off as a spectacle, she's every crafty and very grounded, just like her brothers. What I love about her also is, she makes no apologies, her body of music is outrageous. I'm so happy for this tour so happy that she is getting her flowers for being the greatest entertainer alive....and I agree, if you have not seen the show, see it. Janet and her Nasty Boys are Amazing. She has the right dancers to implement and showcase her as she showcases them. They compliment each other well on stage, the playfulness, the incorporation of newer music mixed in with Janet's Jams amazing. I saw this in her Unbreakable and State of the World Tours (which by the way where AMAZING) and though they are Janet's songs, incorporating other artist songs gives a refreshing take on her music...and also, the choreography is soooooooooooooooooooooooo good, and yes, the Mic is always on....And I have to say, at 58 and that's not old, Janet is in her element with these Nasty Boys, she is still giving life on stage. In fact, I'm still hoarse from screaming so loud and my show was last Friday. Again, it's an AMAZING show, so much fun, so much great dancing, sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many hits. Well of course, it's Janet Jackson.
I don’t care when I go see her. I’m never disappointed and this time her microphone was cut up where you can hear everything she was singing. It was awesome.
Im soooooo gald. she changed the opening of the show. i highly disliked the las opening. I really liked the suit look they all had going. it kind of brought me back to the velvet rope wardrobe. I liked how she did love will never do without you this time around too.
Its not a world tour. No shows in south america, Mexico, The middle east. NOT EVEN MOST OF EUROPE. 90% of her shows are in the usa. How is this a world tour? Bc last time i checked, doing that many shows in one country is not considered the world. Janet always cappin on her fame. She's a grain of sand compared to the majors like Mj, Madonna, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, and THE QUEEN. Janet's shows are very stagnant.
I'll see her twice next fall in Europe (Paris and Amsterdam), my first concert with Janet was Rhythm Nation WORLD TOUR in 1990 (I live in France), it changed my life and could NEVER appreciate any other artist's concerts as much apart from her brother MJ. Everyone else felt "bland" and "boring" in comparison and I've seen some of the other artists you quote. It saddens me to see posts like yours who don't care about the catalog of the songs, the artistry and the legacy, but only cares about "stats" or what the media say at a certain point in time. In your world Drake must be a better "artist" than MJ. Sure you can find hundreds (if thousands) of artists who do better than most statistically speaking, but it doesn't mean it is of quality and worth being listened to. Would MJ be still alive today or beginning his career in 2024, there's a high probability he would go unoticed or people would compare him with others saying things like "he's less good than The Wkend" ... Anyway back to your sentence, technically speaking, if an artist leaves his home country to go performing outside in the world then it becomes a "world" tour but you're just here to dislike I presume. Just seen Janet at Riverbend this past Saturday. Her fashion style was very avantgarde. Liked her new music. And Nelly understood the assignments. Nelly left no crumbs. 💯😎❤️❤️❤️❤️💙
From the start it was 45 straight minutes of non-stop high energy hit after hit and bop after bop. I was in awe of how long that first part of the show went.
I love Miss Janet! I saw her three times and loved each and every concert. I didn't go this year because I saw her last year and now I'm kicking myself.
I was there too. But I was expecting everything I saw because weeks and hours before the show, I was watching in youtube as I do at the moment. I will see her again in Indiana, Detroit and Orlando.
You should of seen her before, I've seen her every time she has come to Chicago except for at Tinley Park - All For You was the best concert I felt ever! Some of her songs from 1914 still hold true to this day which is sad as it has been over 25 years! Kind of surprised Nelly and Janet did not do Call on Me... Nelly has done songs with my two favorite artists Tim and Janet! Love Janet!
Saw her in Baltimore on Saturday and cried when she pulled out Someone To Call My Lover during her encore. Like of all songs, probably one single I would expect the least for an encore set, but it was so pure and truly touching. I saw her last year at the same venue and I think she really killed it with this second leg, even though I loved her show last year as well.
With U is my favorite song from 20YO I was so disappointed it didn't get a proper single release. It takes me back to my first love that is exactly how I felt in his presence--nothing else mattered.
