FX takes aim at 22lr performance with their new parts for the Impact M3;
The all new Power block, Tungsten hammer, and tensioned barrel system taunt 22lr performance in an air rifle package.
Saber Tactical has a new rail I think is going to be the rail to take your Impact to the next level for PRS / NRL style shooting.
Lets see how it really performs!
Depending on the tune, you also need to take into consideration the power plenum filling up in between shots so your fps is consistent. The higher the power tune (generally) the longer you need to wait for the plenum to fill from the bottle.
ditto
Good shooting. Air rifles have come a long way. Thanks for the video.
Great video Josh. Congratulations on getting an Impact M3. One thing that makes the groups smaller, is weighing your slugs.
I have a Fx impact m3 compact 30 caliber I use to shoot pests on my farm. Granted it’s a compact but it works great for me because I shoot from a mobility van because I can’t walk. Great rifles and they have a lot of versatility.
Awesome
That’s an awesome rig!
Altaros makes a slug with the lowest coefficient in a 22 . It doesn’t have the hollow point tip and looks promising . I have yet to try them but will be placing an order to test them out on my Impact . Love to hear from anyone else reading this message that has tried them out .
I havent tried them but I will definitely check them out
I saw them here in Saudi Market
But they seem more expensive than NSA for instance.
Same price tag of a FX Hybrids
Amazing rifle! Can't wait to see how you do at RMAC!
Yeah hoping I can finish ok. Lots of really seriously good airgunners showing up
Josh , I adjusted my trigger to almost touch the bottom of the guard. When I pull my trigger I rest my finger on the guard and pull back . It keeps it consistent and has improved my groups .
Nice, good idea
Great video. Great shooting! Amazing gun. You really got that bad boy hitting solid! Just started tuning my m3 on my channel and it is looking great as well but now I want some upgrades! I feel a new block and barrel are in order. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome man. Appreciate ya watching
Great video Buddy ! Nice shooting
Thanks brother. Appreciate ya
I hate to break it to you, but you're an airgun guy. Beautiful gun, too!
Lol
От такого подарочка я бы не отказался) Крутой ствол.
Informative channel SG southern gunner. Who better than the man that has over 100 airguns BOUGHT with his own money 💰. Nice job Josh.
Nice. I', sure the ballistic of those new slugs makes a huge difference in stability.
Yes sir
Matt Dubber new the better BC of slugs compared to pellets . Matt is the Brain Child of this FX master Piece ! Real Team effort just like Element Optics .

I’m sooo addicted to upgrades! 😂 already preordered. Every available part. Great video 😎

We do obviously haha
nice shhoting on Joe Chanell, thank you so much Josh

Great video. It’s cool to see you trying all different kinds of small bore stuff . Looking forward to more interesting videos
Thanks brother. Just scratching the surface
Great shooting Josh. Unbelievable what can be done with an air rifle today
Thanks Terry! Sure isnt the red rider most of us remember haha
That is some SLIIIIIICK shooting, man, and awesome setup! I told Chris I want to see it tuned for 34 gr slugs to see how many more shots per fill are possible.
Im a neanderthal....
I left the 40gr tune in it and shot the 34's sub moa at nearly 1100 fps 🤣🤣🤣
@@PursuitofAccuracy I mean, the drop would probably be comparable at that speed :P
@@TheDollarSportsman were gonna get these 40 grainers moving pretty quick too here soon
Hello, thank you very much for the video, but there is something that happened to us that I cannot resolve. We use 33.5 grain Nielsen brand slu at a speed of approximately 980 fps, but the problem is in the harmonics when shooting, we make the valve close quickly to that there are no large air flows but a lot of problem in the harmonics thank you very much halcon airguns argentina
Awesome content as always Josh can’t wait to see ya stretch it out 👍
Thanks Tony
I sold the fx I had in 30cal and got me a raw. Too maybe issues and leaks on the fx guns in my opinion. Its just as if not a good bit more accurate. Also have a kral puncher breaker(my first airgun and still my fave). For someone just curious about PCPs i think its perfect at an entry level. Have a few CZs and a bergara 22lr but I will say its cheaper to go with an air rifle after the initial cost. Match grade 22lr is $15-20 box/50. Pellets and even slugs are half the cost if not a 1/4. Even 30cal slugs in the 50gr range are $10-15 for 100. As far as something with more ease to practice airguns are better. Simplicity goes to 22lrs. Don't have to worry about filling and 9/10 22lr magazines are easier to load then standard rotors airgun magazines. Also would need to bring your tank and or high preasure pump with you where as 22lr just needs ammo and some cleaning goods.
Yeah 22lr is simpler for sure but the airguns are a ton of fun.
I started with a bsa and a marauder before I got an FX Gun.
Always had good luck with my FX and other airguns. The impacts I treat like racecars, run em hard and baby em after.....similar to my competition cz's.
Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching
You out did yourself on the intro. It was very special in red. LOLSSS
Haha thanks
Great as always. I think the FX should have the pin probe on this model as standard
Thank you
Would a lower scope help. The rail could be closer to the barrel.
Love the improvements! Mines getting them now. I think with a 700cc botle it might not need the weights to balance it. Geate video!
Yeah it will definitely help.
Thanks
Awesome air rifle I'm waiting on my 800mm barrel kit for my m3 Awesome shooting buddy thanks for sharing bsafe and congrats on the team and rmac good deal
Thanks a lot. Your gonna like the 800
@@PursuitofAccuracy I plan on shooting a 34 gr javelin at 1000fps plus with a lower reg pressure for a higher shot count I'm already shooting 34 at 995 av with the 700mm and I'm getting two full mags 56 shot on a 300 bar 580 bottle I can just imagine with the 800mm I'll probably get more
@@chrisfigueroa3361 oh yeah you will get plenty of shots then
Great video keep the m3 content coming ..
Thanks
My new favorite channel
Thanks
awesome video man. great content and great shooting
Thanks brother
Well, I am surprised with the outcome especially as so much time/money/parts have been added without ANY noticable difference to the results I achieve with my BASIC FAC 0.25 Maverick with 600mm barrel firing 26grn JSB Kings at 1040fps & 60fpe.
The benefit is the bc of the 40 grain being able to be consistently shot at 1050+ fps making shooting out to 400 yards with repeatability a reality
we need to work out the stuff we were talking about related to the air rifle ammo cases... ;)
Yeah we need to get something going
@@PursuitofAccuracy just let me know when you have some time to chat....
Very entertaining 👏 well done excellent shooting.
Thank you
Awesome man
Another comment that I have it is it looks like your scope might be touching the top of that rail
Its close but not touching. I try to run a super low bore height on my rifles
Now the Javelin 2s are out.
Yeah im excited about them
Can’t wait to meet you at rmac!
You as well. Its gonna be a social event for me haha
Wow, great shooting buddy. The mods i sent will get the speed up pass 1050fps 40gn the tungston was lighter on your impact by mistake 😞
Thanks brother and no worries haha
Great video and shooting too
Thanks
580 bottle to 300 bar 15 shots you say love my compact impact 22 cal
Nice
so I'm sitting here watching this thinking back to paintball days.....is there a remote bottle setup for these rifles where you can wear a pack with the air bottle in a backpack or on a belt and then you have a hose connecting the bottle to the air input port on the rifle? (we had these types of setups with certain paintball markers depending on the marker and the usage)
Havent seen it used but i know what your talking about. Would be an option for sure
Yes, it's a precision rifle. I would carry a bottle.
At close to the $2500 for the rifle alone with no goodies added, that's gona be a hard pill to swallow for most folks.
Yeah I agree. Most wouldnt want to spend what I spend on my competition 22lr's either.
Its BS
@@hightidelowtide6380 I wouldnt call it BS lol. There are lots of options out there.
@@PursuitofAccuracy fx should wait and make these overpriced rifles to the point where they are optimal in every way-not make you keep spending money on bs upgrades
@@hightidelowtide6380 its simply evolution. Would you say the same about cars?
Imagine how many people spend 50k on a sports car and the next models are way better......
Every time someone innovates something it pushes everyone else to do the same.
Where can I get a cocking lever like yours ?
NICE!!!
I am sure that people will appreciate the encouragement that you give about going out and competing with less expensive rifles. I do.
new subscriber, just found your channel and loved the video. looking forward to more.
Awesome. Thanks Mark
Man. I’d slow it down to 970-980 fps yeah, that sucks but I bet the accuracy would tighten right up and you would get another 15-20 shots per fill.
I’m shooting 37g Zans at 978fps and shooting 1 hole at 50 and 100 yards, also have no issues shooting out to 300. (When I do my part lol)
Eventually I will end up testing slower velocities but i wanted to set it up to better compare to a 22lr in terms of bc performance etc. There will be some future videos of my final setup as well as a heads up 22lr vs .22 slug bc comparison
Nice video as always
Thanks brother
Maybe its your Weather and conditions. Here where i live, tropical conditions. At 50 to 100 meters, those tuned up PCP airguns Shooting slugs do better but they run it at under 1000 fps in the 900 range. They perform equal to the premium tuned up bench rimfires and better than regular or slightly upgraded target rimfires. From my experiences Shooting and watching others use these top of the line PCP rigs, they are more accurate than majority if the rimfire Guns except those top of the line stuff like tricked Up CZs and Annies.😁
Its probably mostly me not knowing how to tune worth a poop lol.
Slugs can be harder to get accuracy from but the high bc makes up for it. Pellets are hole in hole in these guns but the wind has its way with them
Cant wait for you to get it tuned and Show US The results.😁
@@PitFitHuntFan thanks. Will be slowly working on it as I go while I prep for rmac
Excellent video footage and some good shooting also , very enjoyable great content .
Thank you
Seen a post of the Umarex Gauntlet 2. Beating these groups with same velocities. So little dissapointed seeing these groups.
I tried just that 1 slug with minimal tuning.
Im not trying to find extreme accuracy at any cost. I need the high bc 40 grainer and I need it moa or better. This is for prs style shooting not benchrest
Josh,
Can you do a review soon of the Ruger American Long Range .22? It has a nice stock with m-lock rail on the front bottom of the stock.
Havent seen one in person yet
What kind of shotcount can you expect with this set-up?
Best regards,
Patrick
12-15 running a 250 bar bottle
Awesome action as always guess I am going to have to upgrade my arsenal again now..got rid of the old impact as it was the lemon of the production line sent it back 9 times and in the end just got rid of it.. But that said Australia is not the most looked after in the gun world.
Haha thanks man. They are a ton of fun.
See you at RMAC
Awesome! Please come find me and we can shoot the breeze
@@PursuitofAccuracy will do. I’ve been watching your videos and your getting back into Airguns with the Impact. I was shooting mine today at 100 yards at my gun range today where we hold our 100 yard Benchrest competitions. Shot the Power Pup .30 caliber, Edgun Leshly 2 in .25 caliber an it always surprises me with its accuracy for a back-pack gun.
What diabolo do you use, what weight of diabolo?
What are your pressure settings on the various regulators for a shot at 100 yards and possibly 200 yards?
Personally I'm on a 25 caliber, I would like to go to 100 then 200 yards, what do you recommend?
I was running javelin 40 grainers at 180 bar
I get that it can compete but a 22LR premium rifle is significantly cheaper though. Air gun companies are making the sport a niche rather than being attainable for the average joe. I have a texan 50.cal that ive put a ton of money into . Its insanely accurate with a custom mold i have made and upgrading the bottle , shooting tethered and all that fun stuff. But most of my buddies wont get into as its way to damn expensive $$$$
The marauder was one of my first air rifle. Got it and a pump and that got me shooting and having fun
2:38 Note the valve setting.
Noted
@@PursuitofAccuracy Lol, just grabbing every bit of info on your tune as I can. It looks like you can really crank that valve down with that tungsten hammer installed.
@@Fernando_Woolybooger haha. I use it to tune in the velocity sd and to tweak groups.
Usually that far in means bump down reg pressures a hair
What is the lower rail? Looks nice
Its a prototype from saber tactical i have been testing.
Do you need to install MPA Internal Weights when installing Gray ops external Weights in Saber TRS rail system? I like your setup, what additional accessories should I buy to get a smooth installation on the Saber TRS rail?
None of those weights are meant for that rail so you will have to make them work.
No nothing really, the saber rail bolts right up.
You have so many awesome 22 rifles why go to air guns, something different?
I like to play with the airguns from time to time. I had pcp's before i ever really got into precision rimfires. But the rimfires are my passion
Love your content,
Where did you get your scope front cover?
Its from a company called scope chaps.
Purely for my asthetic pleasure 🤣🤣
gud fx impact 👍👍👍
Ciao Mat. Dove posso comprare il martello in tungsteno?
whats your shot count like at these settings?
Where did You buy trs rail color like that????
It was a pre production one that didnt get coated like the rest

@@charlesphilips2920 a buddy made me mine
Your gun looks amazing, but looks like it's 20 plus lbs!
Its well under 20lbs but i like to get them around 20lbs for prs shooting
You say your shooting 1020fps at what reg im trying to compair as i have exact same setup as you but mine is maxed at 1005 and ernest rowe says to achieve higher speeds like youtubers you need a 300gr tungsten weight and diecast hammer spring so please give more detail of your internals , reg pressure , .217 or .218 slugs thanks
Im not sure of the weight but it does have the tungsten hammer spring.
The .218's are what Im shooting as well.
I wouldnt get too wrapped up in the speed. Find where its grouping best and shoot it there.
Im usually in the 170-190 rear reg ballpark
@@PursuitofAccuracy i do see your point but when youtubers claim there easy getting a speed and us working class get no where near questions are asked and you say between 170-190 which is it thats alot of difference , i can see now why fx have alot of hate as they claim there rifles do this with these upgrades yet when people finally get the parts they dont but by then they need this new part too achieve this its getting very silly now and i think people are relising the lies and thats where the hate is coming into it .
@@theyorkshirelad. im saying 170-190 because your asking for reg pressure from a video over half a year old.
Since then its been retuned for utah for rmac and now im in MO and running a completely different tune.
The fps is going to be dependant on location and your exact setup.
I give a velocity so the holds and drop values make sense to the viewer not to boast what its capable of.
Speed isnt something im questing for, its a biproduct of everything else and something id happily sacrifice for accuracy or consitency.
At around 6000.00 or more I'm guessing- you would think the gun would at least do 1/4 to 3/8 " groupings at 50 yards. For that money and time sake finding the right projectile weight and diameter, and hundreds to thousands of rounds of tuning/ breaking in.... No thanks. To be honest, I've never seen a video yet of an M3 with tensioned heavy liner barrel and all other upgrades that was able to pull off 1 hole groups with slugs at 50 yards with any regular consistency.
I know this is relatively new technology, but I've always thought in theory that ( with exception to wind)-JSB Heavys 33.95 grain .25 cal @ 870 FPS will typically out shoot all slugs out to about 65-70 yards. After that distance is when the ballistics start to shine in this relatively new slug technology for PCPs...
It's gotta be frustrating seeing 3 in one hole and 2 apart. Not one single group with all rounds touching...
Great shooting. I think you'll find more accuracy out of the M3. I've had a FX 25 cal Maverick sniper for over a year now and it took me a while to figure the regulator pressures out.
Yeah for sure, its a learning curve
Would you be willing to give up your settings all 5 I am new to the M3 it would save me a lot of time.
I was running tungsten hammer
170 bar
Valve adustor fully out
Power wheel 4.
I go up to max velocity on hammer then bring valve adjustor in slightly to stabalize sd's
@@PursuitofAccuracy what about the second reg setting
@@brokosok for high power slug shooting i delete the first reg
@@PursuitofAccuracydid you modify your existing reg to blow straight through or get a aftermarket reg delete?
Hey josh im looking to purchase a Cz 457, just dont know if i should go the the American or varmint.
If your not upgrading stock or barrel anytime soon get the varmint. If your going to upgrade buy the american
@@PursuitofAccuracy Why is that?
I already know enough about this rifle to know that I want one don't want to hear it but somebody talk about it the only thing I want to know is how to get one and how much does it cost
Call Utah airguns and talk to them about getting one set up
Look I've got the M3 but what are the weights of that rifle in the video versus an accurate 22lr? It seems like that airgun might be 11-14 lbs and much heavier than even a bench 22. Gains and all, I suppose as a bench gun it seems like weight of the rifle is not an issue in this video.
Its a prs / nrl air rifle setup to be the same weight as my precision rimfires.
The air rifle is roughly 20lbs and my air rifles about 21ish lbs.
None of them are set up to be bench guns
@@PursuitofAccuracy ghey
@@borbonic lol what makes you say that? Have you ever shot a prs or nrl style event?

What makes me say ghey?
Mostly messing with ya. But what kind of ammo are you preferring in you M3?
@@borbonic ah lol got ya. Thats what sucks about text......easy to misinterpret things.
Both the javelins and the zans have been really good for me.
I like the fx pellets for the .30, javelins in the .22, and zans for the .25
I need to do more testing of zans and javelins across other calibers and try some nsa slugs
where did you get the mag cover too suit 40gr please
A buddy 3d printed it for me
Can you use this kit with the carbon fiber sleeve that is installed between the liner and the barrel because I have that already installed I want to know if that carbon fiber sleeve can stay in between the liner and the barrel while using the tensioner kit with the new tension nut that goes on the outside of the barrel that's being replaced?

@@klane7 we were seeing 30 fps from the power block alone when we were testing
With these upgrades, you prove to us the disadvantages of the previous rifles, and the evidence is that when you made the M3 rifle, there was a big marketing hype and the media spokesperson said at the time that the company will not make new versions of the Impact. Unfortunately, after one year has passed, this version was made. Let's ask a year ago, did you not think, were there no consultants or The management has changed and a person with a mature mind came and said you were wrong and such and such must be done. Let me be clear. This amendment. I see it as targeting the pockets of customers, and this is really disgraceful. Dear customers, look and check the results. Raising the speed, the subject is very easy. I own 2 lines, the first 22 and the second 30, and so it will cover all speeds at a cheap price. In the end, I advise dear customers when you watch any marketing video for fx company, remember the marketing videos of the previous version, please pay attention
I see it as a natural progression of advancing the sport. When the impacts came out no one was trying to shoot nrl with them.
Now nrl22 has a dedicated air rifle division and competitions are springing up.
Pellets arent gonna compete against 22lr in the wind, just not gonna happen.
Would you rather the industry sit stagnant and nt progress any further. If that was the case we would all be shooting pellets still.
Not trying to belittle your comment because I understand your point of view as upgrades roll out and the next best thing is always around the corner. Unfortunately this is the nature of advancement.
Imagine buying a 2002 mustsng cobra with 250 hp and in 2003 the 400hp termi cobra debuts.......
FX are innovators in the air gun market. They have the best and brightest brains working for them and constantly developing. Would you rather they sat on their ideas or brought them out in the form of a new rifle when available. FX is not taking advantage of you and almost every new thing they've come out with can be retrofitted to your old rifle. So be grateful that they are almost single handedly advancing the air gun world and making it a very exciting hobby to be in.
Spot on Frederick Axelson just wants your 💰. You don’t need to spend tons of money 💰 for accurate rifles
