So it's good to see him finally get the recognition he deserves!

@@paulcarbonaro6748 Oh I realise it's all a matter of opinion, and in my opinion Colin did not have to be turned into a self centered mess. When you say refreshingly different, do you mean like Boris Johnson?🤣
@@martythemartian99 I recall hearing that the idea was for Colin Bakers character to start of as a jerk and slowly have him become more like the doctor as time went on but it didn't pan out that way for obvious reasons.
Peri was really the wrong companion for this Doctor. She needed a more friendly Doctor like Two or Five, and he needed a harder-to-upset companion like Leela or Clara.
I’ve heard that the BigFinish audiobooks with the Six Doctor really helped round out his character/made him more likable… Additionally, there’s even an Unbound Doctor audiobook series where Four makes the choice to connect the wires to destroy the Dalek nursery at their very beginning and then ultimately (after losing Sarah Jane and Harry to adult Daleks shooting them) has to regenerate into a War Doctor with some help from Gallifrey (and Karn I think) and this Unbound War Doctor is actually Colin Baker’s incarnation…
Those of us who were around at the time picked up on this in his first series. After all, didn't Peri say "I..I..I..." after Davison regenerated into Colin? The Doctor was repeating Peri's reaction (subconsciously by the Doctor, but deliberately by the writers). You're not telling us anything new.
Ludicrous comparison. Fred Elliot was bald as a coot, massively fat and had a very caricature northern cadence. Colin doesn't put "I say" infront of his repeated words either.
It's NOT a catchphrase.....he simply had a habit of saying back what someone else had said if he agitatedly disagreed with it(three times)....but they were different words in different circumstances....a catchphrase is ONE phrase you say yourself on different occasions!
People can never convince me that Classic Who is good. I can't bring myself to watch it, I've given it multiple tries. It's just not for me, it's so bad.
No one has to convince you. The fact it ran for 26 years and words like 'Tardis' and 'Dalek' are known even by non fans is proof enough. Not to mention that feeble, imitation series you love, wouldn't even exist without it, speaks for itself. Now you can deny those facts but doing so would make you appear a bit simple. Mel or Beetlejuice. Hard to tell the difference.
He just suddenly seems like the most British Doctor.
That's true, but that's quite a statement when his predecessor dressed exclusively in cricket gear.
His "Britishness" sticks out due to having an American companion.
