No need to remove or disconnect the radiator to replace the fan , I run a service shop for ATV/UTV's and have change several of the commander fans . Remove the winch (four bolts and good patients) remove the two front bolts on the air box and use a block to hold it up slightly on the front . lift then lean the radiator forward and the fan will slide right out. This is much better than the mess and detailed bleeding procedure , don't lose or forget the two rubber grommets that the rad sets on.
My experience with the cheap fans is that they do not last. I have 2013 commander. I went OEM after several junk ones havent looked back since. My winch is relocated up front so no issue for room.

What's the feedback on the Hayden 3680 after a year is it still good for an aftermarket for a radiator !! Just curious I ordered one yesterday on Amazon

The other day I was working the bike pretty hard with a big snowfall and the fan kicked on when I stopped to talk to a neighbour and I thought to myself I should do a video with how rock solid this cheap fan has been. Honestly, zero issues. Also, with higher CFM it cools better. Thanks for the question.
I brought the machine up to operating temperature and then checked for voltage at the fan motor connector. I could have ground the temp sensor on the engine or bench tested the relay but that was a lot more work lol. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. I filled it ran it up to temp and lifted the front up. I let it bubble and overspill a bit. Closed it up and went for a small ride. Came back and let it cool. Then slowly filled it again while burping it with the hoses. I repeated this three times. A real pain.
Just letting you know that we found the trouble with the top end km on my800 commander. If any of your viewers have this trouble, this machine has been running on only one cylinder from the time we got it.
@NorthernHomeGarage it killed me to read the instructions on mine, but after seeing how the previous owner had installed it as a pusher, I thought "no wonder it's not cooling!" So I had to break down and read them. Good thing, because I would've reversed the wires only and not the blades! Lol
Great video. I recently used the same fan to replace my oem fan motor that was shot. I agree that bleeding them is a royal pain! Having an issue now where my thermostat isn’t reading at all on the dash. Anyone have any suggestions?

I did mine couple months ago I removed winch your way looks a lot better
I seriously thought about removing the winch. It would have definitely given me more room. Did you still need to remove the rad? I’m curious?
@@NorthernHomeGarage no rad and all hoses stayed put no need to remove just remove top bolts so the rad could get out of the way

Just came across this video how did you test your relay?? Yours looks like there are contacts point to check but maybe not.

No not at all! It’s been over a year and half and still problem free.
I'd have to recommend reading the instructions that come with the fan (I know, I know) but it makes it a little more clear and easier

Did the temperature thing only start after draining the coolant?
