love you guys!
Look! I made a sticker that looks like this guitar! www.etsy.com/shop/AmyHeldMusic
The player Stratocasters are fantastic for the value, I love the modern C neck shape but I actually wish the length of the neck was shorter like the vintage strats, It's still very much ok anyway, I have the same guitar with a glossy maple fingerboard but my guitar is black not shell pink
Y’all saying how she’s a beginner and asking why she got a good instrument. Just look how happy she is man 🥺. That guitar is gunna keep her playing for years to come.
You are all saying she's a beginner and asking why she got a good instrument, but just look at how happy she is.
That guitar is going to keep her playing for years to come.*
Do you know how many have said that in the past?
"Let's get the kid an instrument, he will play it for years", and then 1 week later the child is totally over the whole instrument and couldn't care less.
It's usually best to purchase a beginner instrument first, everyone knows this.
@@OriginalPuro She's obviously been playing acoustic and songwriting for a while so I don't think she will just forget about it in a week, especially with how excited she is about the differences and the sound. In my opinion its a good idea to get an instrument you really like with good playability and sound as a beginner because if you are learning on an instrument that is hard to play and sounds bad you will just get discouraged. I say this as someone who has taught a lot of beginners how to play.
@@OriginalPuro if she gives it up then it’ll sad, I agree. But it doesn’t make it bad per se- they could get a nice instrument for her so why not? It’ll get her to play more because it’ll have more meaning to her rather than it being something she begins to hate because it’s not as good as she hoped for. I can say from experience- nicer and more expensive guitars are sm eAsier and niCer to play than cheaper ones. If she wasn’t already playing- I’d understand. But she iS playing and she’s obviously enjoying it :,) I just don’t see any issues here
Well said.
@@OriginalPuro it was her 16th birthday present maybe she wanted that guitar? Doesn’t matter if you think beginners should get cheap guitars it was her birthday and she wanted that so her parents got it her as a present. And also it’s a player series they aren’t expensive
her excitement is literally making me excited
Aww thank you for being excited with me!
Me too...i come back to such videos to keep myself motivated. She is really happy playing and I wish she keeps on going..

E. Guitar tips :
- play more power chords ( they sound different ) and try not making too much noise when playing.
- start playing scales and licks, it really helps building up speed.
- ( the most important one for solo and scales ).
" When you can learn playing something slowly, you can also play it more speedy - in normal speed. " When you want to learn a difficult solo, first play it slowly.
And an extra one :
- it is important to spend time with your instrument ( even if you re
just holding it and just playing silly things ) because you become used to it !
That's from me, continue playing !
Update : learn the A pentatonic, really helps improving your soloing ! I don't know why i forgot that.
If you can play it slow.....
You can play it fast!slow
TwoSetViolin
Did you just said "leaks" ?!?!?
Play with your favorite songs as well as sing from the beginning as well, because this is hard to learn to do well later. Also, do it standing up, not sitting. Its common for a singer songwriter to want to add a dance step or move around to better control and move the crowd. Secret weapon, is showwomanship. Thats how you become an unstoppable force of music.

I agree. My family has always been very into music despite being in insurance business, both parents being in band through college. This comment made me smile. I really appreciate it :)
:O
i have no dream guitar.. however, i have a design in my mind, so mine is literally a dream. Hope I can create it soon.
I don’t get why everyone mad about it being her first guitar. First of all, player series is essentially a entry level fender, still fantastic option of course, but especially for a where she’s at, it sounds like she’s not an early beginner guitar player either. Second, it doesn’t lose its value. If later she doesn’t care for playing it, she can sell it and get most of their/her money back or if she does pursue it, she has a solid guitar that will grow with her that will sound great in recording, live, etc. Good for you, girl! That’s amazing!
Thank you so much! I am so lucky to have this guitar and I have no intention of quitting...ever. Thank so much for the support, I really appreciate it :)
the best advice i got about the most suitable guitar for beginners is that guitar that can make the player play forever. it’s amazing that she got her dream guitar because then she’d always be happy playing it. 💞
imo i don't think fender player series are entry level but i guess everyone has different opinions haha. agree with the points, people shouldn't get so worked up about it and she seems really happy with the guitar :)

i'm a guitar player but i always wanted to get into bass. strange enough, i went on a date with a guy who had a bass that was kinda old and had some issues, mostly with the volume knobs, and he just gave it to me for free on our second date. what surprises me even more is that it's a fender. its an amazing bass, i have it getting repaired atm, the guy randomly blocked me i guess because we didn't have much in common and more than anything i'm just a little sad i cant thank him enough for the amazing bass. this bass is better than the two guitars i own.
What a crazy story! I can't beleive he just gave it to you!! ...and then blocked you?! Haha that's wild, but at least you got a good bass out of it. He seems like a nice person. I wish you the best with your new bass!!
@@amynheld yeah... it honestly makes me a little sad he blocked me because having a boyfriend who i could play music with sounds like a lot of fun :( but i dont hold it against him, sometimes we just find something in a person we realize we dont find attractive and he didnt have the guts to tell me. i'm just soooo thankful for this bass, unexpected birthday gift lol

@@nostalgiataxi conflicted whether to call him nice or a little flakey. Every guitarist has done this at one point
I've done that before too with my cousin's guitar
Whoever is starting to play guitar, here are some tips.
1. I'd recommend getting a guitar that fits your music taste, and what you want to play. For example; if you want to play metal and have an acoustic guitar; it just won't work out.
2. Do not rush yourself to become good. Start with simple tabs and chords.
3. Guitar may seem hard when you start, and it is. The hard part is starting, and getting used to the sore fingers (The sore fingers will go away) and hard chords.
4. Expensive doesn't always mean good, start with gear that is around 150-300 dollars (if you're going with a classical or acoustic guitar) for electric guitars, 200-500 is a good range.
5. If you're getting a kit guitar, try getting it set up at the nearest guitar center; the 30-80 dollars are worth it, and you will not regret it.
6. Start with simple and open chords, the easiest chord shapes I know of are C major, D major, A minor, and G major. (G major may be a stretch though)
7. If you're at guitar center, or any musical store, pick any guitar you want to play. You don't always need to ask for help or permission to play certain guitars, although make sure it's not a guitar you cannot play. Usually you don't need to do this.
8. Use a metronome, or just google 'metronome' to play in the pace of the song you're playing.
Thank you for reading, I hope this was helpful.
This is so helpful and thoughtful! I think a lot of people will benefit from this :)
Thank you so much!
Don’t listen to this person they know nothing
Today I learned I geek out just like a teen girl when I get a new guitar

Oh my gosh they are the best!! I'm glad it made you smile, I do the same thing whenever I watch it back!
7:45 "I know this is the thing that goes waaaaa" you're funny lmao
I'll give you some pickup tips. top position is the pickup closest to the neck
next position down is neck and middle pickups
middle switch position is middle pickup
next position down is middle and bridge or rear pickup
bottom is the bridge pickup . It has a 5 position switch , neck pickups have a deeper bass tone, while bridge has more treble or high pitched sound. and you can mix the
tones with the two tone knobs in each switch position. The sounds you can get are almost endless. Enjoy your guitar
Thank you so much!! This was very helpful, I really appreciate it :)
Hi, I really love electric guitars but I don’t know much about them. I wanted to get the squier bullet stratocaster but It has a tremolo and I don’t wanna use it (at least not in the beginning) can I just not use it? Or would that cause any problems
@@powerpuffcurl1459 If you don't want a tremolo, then I suggest getting a hardtail squier bullet strat. Hardtail basically just means that it has no tremolo. Pretty much the only difference between them is that one has a trem system and other doesn't. Also hardtail can be shortened to HT. You don't really need to know that but I think that it will help you look for guitars that suit your taste.
@@powerpuffcurl1459 yes you can just unscrew the trem arm and not use it

You need a better amp for it will really let you hear how good the guitar is, the amp really is your sound and the guitar is the tool, a good amp will bring out how good and clear sounding the tool is. 🙂 take care hope this is useful
What's that a good amp considered like the amp name and price
@@strangerkaia5684 a good beginner amp i would recommend is the fender mustang lt25 cost around 150ish it teaches u what type pedal sounds u like and stuff so you can get a good idea how u want your guitar to sound in the future because all amps are different
@@strangerkaia5684 Its best to get something with a high watt, like Fender Champion 100 Watt. Great amp!
@@rainbowbridge4766 why would you get something high watt lmao
Suggest floating around reverb pages for a used Fender Blues Jr., or a 🔥 Hot Rod Deluxe 🔥 if you're looking to just buy one amp that will play even huge venues, which is still affordable when used. Tube amps have a brilliance that you won't get with a modeling amp, because its the nature of the beast. Tubes are breathing power stages. Solid state amplifiers are valveless (lack tube power stages) and sound much less phonetic and responsive because of it. Either way, best of luck on what will be a wonderful journey.
(Blues Jr. used is roughly 400 in best condition or for special editions used, around 600 new)
Hot Rod Deluxe is 600-700 used, and 900ish new. Shipping is usually free on amplifiers. This will require pedals to augment the sound beyond simple drive. These amps both have drive, clean, and top notch reverb channels.
The pure joy only a young person can feel. Never stop playing! Best of luck on your journey.🤘
I hope the joy lasts for a long time haha, thank you very much☺️
the trail effect you mentioned is called delay, there shoud be a knob on your amp that lets you adjust it, the other effect that had like a spacey vibe like the guitar was in and out of phase is called a phaser and also you should ba able to adjust it in your amp

I remember when I felt like that when opening my first Fender Stratocaster.
It took me a while to realise that I love Orange amps (it's a brand and a colour) and really heavy metal sounds. I went through a number of amps to arrive at that point as your musical styles might change over time and so will your sound preferences. I also have to say that new tech has come a long way and you don't necessarily need a valve (tube) amp to get really nice sounds from an amp. You'll probably want a pedal or two after a while. The tones in the amp are great for a beginner, but after a year or so of playing, you'll probably discover that you want something a little different than what your current amp offers, or maybe just a little bit more fine tune-able. The world of effects pedals is right now seemingly endless. Tons of pedals for the same basic thing, and most of them do something just slightly different than the other.
My first Orange amp was a Crush12, and I just recently upgraded to a Crush 35RT because it has features that I found myself desiring.
That's a great guitar and amp. The amp will work well for you for years. It'll take you a while, but you'll eventually upgrade the amp. As to any advice. Learn scales, and songs, solos are almost entirely comprised of scales. Something to not do immediately is to attempt to shred (playing really fast around and past the 12th fret) as it's not easy to do well, and generally looks and sounds bad when you're really new. I would concentrate on musical phrasing which is how to connect chords and strum patterns to send a message and a feeling. Think of it as having a conversation with someone. Shredding sounds cool for a very short time, but conversations ebb and flow where you talk faster, then slow a little, maybe pause for a second or so, and then start saying something again. Listen to BB King and Ben E King. They're wonderful guitarists who wouldn't make it past the first rounds of today's guitar competitions, but everyone knows who they are, and most (including myself )have no clue who won the 2019 guitar shredding contest.
Wow thank you for such a thoughtful comment! I really appreciate it!! I have a feeling I'll gravitate towards Orange amps in the future (the color is so cool and I've heard great things about them!). Thank you for your advice I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thank you for watching💘

i've been sending my dad links to gretsch electromatics... i hope he gets the memo
I leave tabs open on my mom's laptop...it worked for me this time🤣
Girl those first few notes-
literally magical!!
Awesome @Amz_ so happy for your new guitar!!! Very awesome!! 🙌🏻🎸🎶
Reminds me of how I felt when I got my first electric guitar, it was just an Epiphone Les Paul jr. And I got a line 6 15 watt spider, it was a budget rig, but it felt amazing, like so much I could do with it!
Keep playing. In five years you’re going to be super confident on the guitar.
Man ooh man... That first time... Is what life is all about.
Electric guitars are so freaking cool🥲 and so beautiful!! the wide variety of colors and styles you can get from a electric guitar is amazing!!!
So happy for you! That’s a beautiful guitar! I just got a telecaster but now I wanna get a strat 😂🤘🏻
7:11 That sound in a background i think it’s a “ Phaser “ and if u listen also got a “ Reverb “ ( Not delay sorry )
The metal sound its “ Distortion “
You can change it with the amp controls

My first guitar also a fender guitar but a telecaster one. Been using it for almost 10 years. And still loving it today. I bet we all have the same reaction like this girl when we have our first guitar.
Oh wow congratulations on a beautiful guitar and a great little versatile amp!...that rig is gonna keep you discovering things for years to come and even though you're just a beginner you seem to have a knack for it...you're gonna be a damm fine guitar player I just know it!
i want a guitar or bass so badly! whats one guitar or bass you recommend? i've played before and i know a lot of chords, but i just really want to get one :)
Chords are pretty easy though, she still is great though :)
Harley benton
@@omgdisfunny4852 ok! i'll check it out thanks
Squier by Fender, Ibanez *really great and cheap*, Epiphone *blues/funk*. I personally have a squier strat and it’s pretty good but get a really good amp and a decent guitar!
@@cityfantv-everythingmancit2946 she said herself she’s a beginner. shes actually really good for a beginner
I have wanted to play guitar ever since I was 9 but my strict religious parents never approved besides I live in a place where guitars are extremely expensive and I can't buy it on my own. I'm about to turn 20 now and still don't know anything about the thing that I wanted to do most. I keep telling myself that I will do it when I become independent but I always feel like it's too late or that I'm too old so I won't be able to play well anytime soon.
When I hear that some people have guitars that they don't even touch, it literally drives me crazy. 😢
it's never too late!! :)) as long as you're committed and practice often, you'll get good!
This is so heartwarming, genuinely made me so happy 🥹
Sooooo wholesome, hope it’s all going great and you’re really enjoying it!
That's awesome!!! I have the same guitar but in inca silver! Love it!! Ok so this is what I recommend! Get yourself the Freeway 5B5-01 toggle switch. And get your local guitar shop to install it. Right now you have 5 pickup combinations and with this mod you end up with 10!!!! It's like having a second guitar! And it only costs like $40!!! It gives you the bridge and neck pups together (like a tele) and all three pups together and three other combinations in series which makes the strat sound like it has humbucker pups!!! The best $40 i ever spent!!!!
That sounds very interesting...and tempting too! I'll definitely look into this in the future when I want a different sound. thank you for this recommendation!!
I want to learn to play the guitar so bad 💚
Congrats! Love strats even though I always use custom pickguard with only one volume in the last Tone position, but always warms my heart seeing kids getting excited getting a favorite instruments! Enjoy and have fun!
Congrats Happy belated Birthday. Hope you have many more and enjoy your guitar for many years.
Congrats. That is a beautiful guitar. Always wanted one since I saw Elliot Easton's but his is a darker pink but your color is sweet. You Play very well as a beginner. Oops I just passed judgement.
Thank you so much! I really do love the color :)
“The thing that goes waaaa waaaa” I laughed a little
I'm just crying right now because of you. You're so happy for getting this guitar so I feel all spectrum of your emotions. It's amazing girl, you're amazing
