Remember slow and easy , don’t rush it takes time just concentrate on getting the note right speed will come . The most important thing is to enjoy the journey , i have been playing for over 40 years and i still can’t help it when i look at my guitars i have to pick them up and play . Good luck.
I really like the way you’re doing this! You’ve chosen a beautiful guitar, which I hope will be your faithful companion for many years to come. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more of your musical journey whenever you’re ready to share 😊
That's a gorgeous guitar and buttercream is the way to go ^^ really cool to see your progress and enthusiasm in leaning. Hopefully it will inspire many others. Keep on keeping on :)
It's funny how the first song we learn has changed. When I started out, it was Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water" every guitar player started out with that one lol. If you ever heard it, you might want to learn it. Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" has its groove too. I have a suggestion that will help you out when you practice it. Think of all your fingers on your left hand are a number, starting with your pointer #1 represents the first fret, the second finger is fret 2, 3rd is 3rd, and your pinky is 4. Practice alternate picking, up and down. start with your first finger, on the first fret on the 6th string. use all of your fingers chromatically. It's a chromatic scale. Do this exercise on all the strings. Use your #1 to start on the 5th fret, same practice till you get to the 12th fret. Warning lol, this will not be fun, but with practice, your finger tips will harden, your alternate picking will improve, speed and accuracy, and most important make scales and lead soloing much easier. I hope this will help you, that Strat of yours looks great, in my opinion it's the right color and classic. Keep Rockin'
You definitely chose right. Now you have the best of both worlds. I'm pretty sure you can split that humbucker, making it a 3 single coil anyway. Everyone knows the best setting on a Strat is position 4. Neck and middle pickups. John Mayer wrote countless hits on that one setting alone! Enjoy your new guitar!
What a beautiful guitar. You're gonna love playing it. I'm a little older than you and have bought quite a few 'dream guitars' in my time. The thing is, there will always be another dream guitar. But that's actually the fun part lol.
Nice guitar sounds great looks good also. Just keep practicing your sound is pretty good. Keep up the singing it will give you the total sound. If someone asks you to play something singing with it and with your voice it will sound better then just playing your guitar. Still rock'n.
Congrats on the new guitar! You did the right thing buying something so pretty which you love so much. It’s vital to staying enthused to play every day. You’ll get good (enough) in no time. Also, the rule is: you should never sell your first guitar. 😉😀👍
It's such a lovely guitar! Having a guitar you love makes it so much easier to want to practice. And shoutout to Justin, I learned from his videos years ago, too. Best of luck!
Beautiful guitar! HSS is so great too. P.S haha, the scales being harder on the way back is so true 😂. I’ve been playing many years, but I still don’t know why that is the case. To anyone wanting to learn any instrument, my guitar teacher Tomo Fujita has some great words of wisdom: Don’t worry Don’t compare Don’t expect too fast Be kind to yourself p.s my suggestion of a song for a beginner to learn is ROCKER by AC/DC (That was the first I learned and it made me so happy:)
Congratulations on your new guitar. I’ve always been a Strat guy and that guitar with last you a lifetime as long as you take care of it lol. Best of luck to you.
That can be a lifetime guitar. I have the Mexican made and American made strats and, honestly the player series gets you 90% of the American ones at half the price. A new guitar is exciting and inspiring. Congratulations!
The Fender Player series strats are fantastic. I have both Player 1, and 2 Strats, and I love them both. Congrats on your new guitar. So happy for you.👍
Congrats on the new guitar! I like the color too. I think James James got that same guitar a couple years ago. He seemed to like it a lot. I thought the color was pretty classy looking. Check out his channel. He doesn’t do videos anymore but he showed how he played a lot of songs. Anyhow, glad to see your excitement for your new instrument! Keep it up!
Rock on young lady ! And , you’re absolutely right about never quitting playing . I’ve been trying to learn since I was 15 and still trying OVER 50 years later ! I’m going to check out the course you spoke of in this video , so see , you’re already influencing people . Stay after it and stay humble and you’ll get there . I wish us both the best ! I’m going to take lessons in 2025 and make a serious effort to learn . I have a bunch of guitars 🎸, I should learn to play them . Take care everyone and keep practicing !

Hi, I got the same electric guitar, but mine is Sunburst. It is performer. Fender. I started a half a year ago at age 63. This is my dream since a young teenager.
At the end of the day its all about inspiration! Im so happy that you had the chance to buy an instrument that inspires you to pick ot up daily :D Two years ago i bought a schecter cause most of my fave bands played with one! Keep practising and u will see progress in no time! The most important thing is to be consistent! Can't wait to see some electric guitar covers from you😊
Congratulation for getting a guitar that will keep you inspired.Enjoy your journey. The guitar is definately my best friend and getting lost in it has no comparison!
Hi, Karin. The main skill I never learned but wish I had was that I never learned to sing and play at once. That was a HUGE mistake on my part, one you have already avoided. Good for you! As for songs I would recommend, the first decent one to come to mind is one that I remember practicing myself many years ago when I was a teenager: "It's Your Night" by the Ohio Players, from their album "Skin Tight." Honestly, I would not be surprised to find that your current skill level is equal or nearly equal to the task of playing this song, as it's main guitar part is a very easy fingerpicking pattern. I started out on electric guitar; if you started more on acoustic, you're ahead of my old game. Here's hoping you like the song and that it helps you along your way. Keep rockin'!🤘👏
Congratulations on the guitar. You made the right decision. I have a Precision Bass in that same Buttercream and I can say there is just something magical about the instruments in that color. They seem to stand above all the other Player Series. If you get adventurous in the future, the Player II guitars to watch are the ones with Rosewood fretboards. Its a different feel from that one you have now. As for your fingering issue. Practice is the key. Your fingers will loosen up and one day you'll just be like "Wow! When did THAT happen" :) Oh..and we ALL feel like we should have started sooner. I wish I had started the day I was BORN. 🤣 And yes the "Peter Gunn Theme" will help you stretch, same with Seven Nations Army. Cramping will happen. Its normal. Kuroi Namida actually shares quite a few chord changes in common with a band called Oasis. Noel Gallagher loves those minor chords. Some of their songs sound similar and may have simpler chord changes to get you towards that song. Also similar in sound but maybe not as complex is "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals. It follows that same style of chord strumming but the chords are not as complex. Have Fun!!
Wow thanks for all the tips! I appreciate it! Bass is also super cool! In the player II series there's also a birch green bass that I thought looked really nice. And I'll definitely check out some Oasis songs!
Great choice of colour - you won’t tire of a classic look. The HSS is super flexible and will do most of what you need. I bought Fender Japan HSH Hybrid II Stratocaster in Olympic (white)pearl finish. It’s awesome. I’ve been learning with the Tim Pierce Masterclass beginner series - it’s really good.
Hey, got the same one last year 😂. Then the player 2 series came out and I was a little sad i didn't wait. I would have loved the rosewood fretboard on the player 2 but the player 1 is lovely as well. Even if it doesn't have the rosewood fretboard. Playing wise this one is a dream and i love the color it has. I love to pick it up and play, even unplugged. It just feels good in your hands. Solid choice
Awww u are soo happy n enthusiastic about yer strat ❤ if u can do a bit every day then it makes a huge difference .... as long as it makes u happy ... I'd maybe get a drum machine so it would be even more fun ... keep on grooving ❤❤❤
Gongrats! I saw your previous video when you talked about it and practiced and I'm happy that you finally got it. I have the exact same guitar in this color as well and I love it. I have a few guitars but this one is the best playing (and looking) one. But to be honest it fits you better than me. 😄 I'm looking forward to see you play it some more in the future!
I have been playing guitar over 25 years. I always remember that easy/cheesy is fun and fun is most important. So rocking out with power chords is a good release and then you can go back later to theory or Jazz or classical. Also tone is a huge factor. Using a low powered valve amp and finding the tones inside properly is a big step in the enjoyment. I never use pedals. I can go from clean all the way to metal in one amp and it sounds 'right' all the time. lastly, keep in good measure both rhythm and lead. Play blues riffs to backing tracks on YT.
p.s. You have chosen wisely with that strat. I'd like to know how the humbucker performs with high gain. Does it go fizzy? Or does it remain crunchy or snarly?
Congratulations on your new guitar, that's an absolutely beautiful strat, and the hss is the perfect choice. You can play any style of music with that pickup configuration. Enjoy your journey learning, and i just subbed to your channel to see how you get along 😉♥️
It’s refreshing seeing someone show what it’s really like to learn guitar instead of just putting all the good edits on UA-cam encourages me to maybe make a video even though I still think I suck.
New subscriber here. Live the guitar! Keep up the good work. No need to rush, important is that you're having fun. Can't wait to see one day you getting really good and I'll or we'll look back to this comment. Keep smiling, keep playing.
Congratulations! Excellent Choice.Mine is a crowd pleaser and it's been a wonderful journey. Tip, try not to lift your fingers so high off the fingerboard and try not to lift a finger till you need to change strings mostly with your 1st finger. -Keep up the great work and I would love to see your progress. Just don't put it down. Beautiful Stratocaster!!! Love it for you
You have a beautiful voice when you sing, long as you practice you’ll get better I have a fender Strat and I love it, deep purples smoke on the water is a real easy song to learn and most of nirvana’s songs are easy for beginners good luck and practice every chance you get
Nice. I had one of those. Can't keep them all. But, even though I have dozens of guitars at this point in my life, nothing beats the feeling of getting my hands on a guitar that reaches out and Inspires me to play. For some reason, that tequila sunrise Player Plus Strat is calling my name right now.
I always wanted the HSS Strat but being a Lefty they never made them for my hand type. So I noticed one day when walking past the guitar shop that they had a Left hand Indy Super T on sale so I, like yourself, took the opportunity and bought it. Although, I also didn't pick it up as much as I should have. Recently I purchased a copy of Guitar pro and a digital box for connecting my guitar to my computer. It has made my practice more frequent and fun with the sounds and the use of backing tracks. I am not suggesting you go to that expense as there are other similar options available which are not so much of an outlay. Just enjoy your journey and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I do. Maybe one day I will see you jamming with Midori and Miyako.
Cool guitar, congrats! When practicing scales, start with pentatonics. It's a bit easier and a lot of riffs and solos are based on pentatonics. Also try alternate picking when practicing scales. Good luck :)
My biggest tip is to always play something you like. Don't force yourself to play boring scales or practice routines 24/7. That will only burn you out and make you quit in the long term. Groetjes 🤘🤘
I would like to add, not to focus too much on the up/down mechanically, but just go with it. Maybe that is just me, but I never gave any thought as to which direction I was strumming. I know everyone learns differently.
Congratulations with your Fender Strat! An amazing color, what a joy to see your smiling face, we all know that feeling when unboxing a new guitar😃 I’m waiting for my own unboxing the next couple of weeks, and the days goes by to dlow 🤣 Good luck on your channel! 😃👍🎸🎸
@@karinsinia Yup, what's keeping me from getting one is all the extra stuff it needs and the extra loudness lol. With acoustic you just pick it up and have fun. Classy color you picked btw, love it.
Hi very interesting video. I’ve been playing on and off for about 45 years. I’m definitely not as good as I should be probably the same for 99% of all guitarists. The first things I learned were a few open chords, the dreaded E barre chord so I can play dozens of chords up the neck and the minor pentatonic in first position. Don’t get hung up on all this strum patterns down down up down up down etc if you know the song you naturally go with the flow like you were doing with Crazy Little thing called Love. The fact you are learning to sing and play sets you apart from probably most guitarists Remember learning the guitar is a wonderful journey not a race and it’s never a competition Master the barre chord and you can play almost anything best of luck young lady
3:2413:35 This is the first video of yours I've seen, so I didn't know what to expect, and I was surprised when you suddenly said the NANA line. I mean, I'm Japanese, so I came to see your "guitar video" and suddenly I was surprised to see your perfect Japanese pronunciation, singing and subs. like WTF! lol You're already pretty good at it, so good luck with your guitar practice. edit: and Subscribed.
Fender is the bomb. I'm sure you have heard this but scales, scales, scales. Pentatonic majors and minors to start. Improvise over a progression playing through your amp. Looper pedals are pretty cheap and very useful to develop skills. I still practice Sweet Child of Mine riff till this day. Oh and really good voice. 👍🎸🎵
See if you can find a lesson on practicing chromatic scales going up and down the fretboard. It gets your fingers moving independently. That helped me so much. Good luck and remember not to put too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy the journey!!
Smart going with HSS. The variety is incredible. 👌
Nice guitar, and cool color. I haven't seen that color before. It's a great choice of pickup, humbucker, and 2 single coils. Congrats!
Congratulations what a great way to continue your journey ! I wish you good luck and a great time.

Yay! I love the guitar!!!! Please post some more videos of your electric guitar journey, scales and more! 😁

Although I've been playing the guitar for a LONG time, I really miss that thrill of learning and nailing a Nirvana riff or song. Enjoy the journey!
Cool guitar, congrats! When practicing scales, start with pentatonics. It's a bit easier and a lot of riffs and solos are based on pentatonics. Also try alternate picking when practicing scales. Good luck :)
I would also recommend practicing scales with a metronome. Start slow and work your way up.
My biggest tip is to always play something you like. Don't force yourself to play boring scales or practice routines 24/7. That will only burn you out and make you quit in the long term.
Groetjes 🤘🤘
Absolutely! I always alternate between doing reps and playing whatever I want to☺️
I would like to add, not to focus too much on the up/down mechanically, but just go with it. Maybe that is just me, but I never gave any thought as to which direction I was strumming. I know everyone learns differently.
Ohhh wow the Yngweem Malmsteen scalloped Fender Stratocaster guitar
Nice guitar!
Thank you!!
Congratulations with your Fender Strat! An amazing color, what a joy to see your smiling face, we all know that feeling when unboxing a new guitar😃 I’m waiting for my own unboxing the next couple of weeks, and the days goes by to dlow 🤣 Good luck on your channel! 😃👍🎸🎸
Can't wait to get an electric guitar! I've been learning on acoustic for some months now
It's very different from acoustic I've noticed, but amazing in its own way! :D
@@karinsinia Yup, what's keeping me from getting one is all the extra stuff it needs and the extra loudness lol. With acoustic you just pick it up and have fun.
Classy color you picked btw, love it.
Lovely 👍
Congratulations!! It looks great!
Thank you! :)
The fact you are learning to sing and play sets you apart from probably most guitarists
Remember learning the guitar is a wonderful journey not a race and it’s never a competition
Master the barre chord and you can play almost anything best of luck young lady
3:24 13:35 This is the first video of yours I've seen, so I didn't know what to expect, and I was surprised when you suddenly said the NANA line.
I mean, I'm Japanese, so I came to see your "guitar video" and suddenly I was surprised to see your perfect Japanese pronunciation, singing and subs. like WTF! lol
You're already pretty good at it, so good luck with your guitar practice.
edit: and Subscribed.
Another quick tip I learn from my friend who's a guitarist is to try to focus more on the rhythm than the down and up strums
I remember one of the first songs I learned on guitar was Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Excellent selection ! You have great taste !
thats my dream guitar too. slight problem is that i'm broke.
have a nice day
Hopefully you'll be able to get it one day!🎸💛
Great choice! A good Strat is so versatile! Next, a Les Paul style!! Keep playing! Lots of low cost/free lessons on line!! 🎸🎶🤟🏻
Thank you! A Les Paul is definitely on the list for the future :D
Love this video!❤
Fender is the bomb. I'm sure you have heard this but scales, scales, scales. Pentatonic majors and minors to start. Improvise over a progression playing through your amp. Looper pedals are pretty cheap and very useful to develop skills. I still practice Sweet Child of Mine riff till this day. Oh and really good voice. 👍🎸🎵
Thank you and thanks for the tips!☺️
Congrats!
Congrats Have a great play every time, Cheerz
The guitar is perfect, but that plush moth (at least it looks like that 😃)!
from what i see you will have the hang of scales in no time!
Congrats on the NGD
Nice …… Lv it!
See if you can find a lesson on practicing chromatic scales going up and down the fretboard. It gets your fingers moving independently. That helped me so much. Good luck and remember not to put too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy the journey!!
