Inherited a white 1600L way back on the death of my father-in-law. He'd just put it in for a full professional respray and it looked brand new when I picked it up. Lovely motor to drive, ran it for many years before moving to a Mk5 Cortina. Ford made some handsome cars in those days.
me dad got one in 1971 , traded in a hillman minx , it looked great , silver with purple stripes, looked the dogs , i was a 10 year old then , it felt really special , probably no quicker than the basic though
It is Aubergine and its a 1600 E Cortina . One of the best models Ford ever did in my opinion.

Lovely colour. I think its called aubergine. Very sort after cars nowadays. The old mk2 was a bit special in the day.
my first car was a second hand mk 1 and had every cortina in the days back then great old motors

Same colour as a Beldonna 1997 Ford KA nd rusts the same
Will be rotten underneath that old superficial restoration.
