Thousands of stocked trout | Why fishing isn't allowed!

This is how DNR stock our local ponds and lakes with freshwater trout. You can check your DNR website in your state for schedules.
I'm fishing at a pond in Southern, MD and happen to be there during the stocking. It would appear that the fish would undergo some level of stress but DNR has been doing this for decades, they have a process that works!
This day, DNR placed a 1 hour restriction on fishing to give the fish to become acclimated to their new area. After that, it was "Game On!" I caught my limit within an hour, they were good and hungry!
In Maryland, anyone over 16 years of age (minus special circumstances) must possess a freshwater fishing license plus a trout stamp that allows you to catch 5 trout per day. The stamp doesn't apply to saltwater trout, you need to follow state regulations for that.
