“Fragments“ by Jason Richardson
It's one thing to play live, but it's a totally different challenge to play to a room of drummers. Great job man!
Agreed Chris. Respect to the man he nailed it!
Know your audience.
I can stand people saying this music isn't their cup of tea but saying it's terrible is fucking stupid. Everyone involved in this project is way over the average level of talent out there both in technique and creativity.
Never dissappointed by Luke's playing. Though I have to say he was showing some fatigue that was affecting the overall feel. Thats bound to happen when you're playing balls to the wall music like this and giving 110%. Nicely done young drummer brother!
Yeah I’ve seen him play more clean, these performances where more sloppy. He must have been tired like you said.
Looked like a 220 power inverter on the floor next to the kit, Germany uses 220volts instead of 110, I know useless knowledge
This sounds pretty good but if you have listened to the drums on the album you'd feel like this sounds like ass lol Yeah that's how amazing the drums sound on that record
Completely agree, Taylor Larson turns everything he touches into production gold.
This is such a busy drumming song. It's pretty amazing.
"Mistakes were made". Hmm, were they though?
BurnThePope 2:38 . He was slow on the snare hit so he rushed it causing a mess up but but other than that, solid performance. Guessing it was due to nerves and him being tired.
Lekter I wasn’t having a go. I was just making out on that comment, that was all haha. I think Luke Is one of the best drummers out there. Incredible talent. I am a long time fan of his. Been a fan since just before he joined The Word Alive.
I wasn’t criticising him in any way dude.
Great performance Luke!
Of all the metal videos on this channel, why'd everyone start bashing the genre here?
EthT Tbh you either like the song or you don't. People are just not accustomed to mixing growling with somewhat "poppy-sounding" (still talented) vocals. I like the song though.
not the genre..... just the song itself
Cause I hate the vocalist, that’s why. Spencer Sotelo knock off.
Cuz the song kind of sucks
How does the song suck? It rips! The playing is on point. Awesome choirs too \m/
Too much hate, just appreciate.
The song is lit bro
Should have played titan
The mix is alot better on this vid compared to last one from Luke!
Never seen or heard of this man till today but if you're not impressed then you do not understand. And there is no way to explain it to you. The guy is fantastic.
I'll never understand how that stack sounds as good as it does. It looks like the cymbals barely make any contact with each other???
Matt Shay not making contact is what keeps them for sounding quiet and choked. They smack together when he hits them much like open hats. The trashiness has a lot to do with them being thin and having the holes.
@@ramenthenoodle_ i own them and you cant really play the quietly.
I love how tasteful Luke's playing has become. He did a really good job here!
1:51 is that Benny Greb
Devank Sule nope, just a cameraman
correct. that is just Quentin our camera man :-)
JUST Quentin? Sheeeesh meinl show some love for the small heroes!
SMALL heroes? Sheeeesh Brandon show some love for the behind the scenes contributors that make everything possible! Haha
solid performance of one of my favourite tracks!!!
love you bro, hope to play with you one day!!
please Anika Nilles
This sounds like veil of Maya wtf
It is actually the singer from VOM
Unfortunately, the vocalist for veil of maya is on this song. Maybe they couldn’t find anyone else, and he was the emergency backup
that mix is fucking wet
What DW drums was he using here? I’m looking to buy the exact kit 😍😤
cover bring me the horizon - happy song & throne... plss
this guy make me imagine Paulo Dybala not only footballers professional player..
What?
Is it me or the left crash cymbal happens to be too tight?
Christ Luke same some spotlight for the rest of us!!!!
Love the instruments, hate the vocalist. Stop trying to be Spencer Sotelo and Chris Barretto.
It's the lead singer for Veil of Maya man it's not like he's some no name vocalist
Love his Perfomance! One of the best days in my life!
I dont like it
I don't particularly enjoy nor dislike this song, but an instrumental version definitely would have been better. Would highlight the drumming a lot more, and wouldn't put off people who feel this type of music isn't that great, anyways, great from Luke as always!
Beautiffuly played 😊
what use stick size??
Like
Easy
02:37 oops, mistakes lol
THE BEST
Nice!!
Very well played!!
Awesome as always!!
2:44
😨uau muito bom!!!👆
He looks hella ripped haha
Good cover but Luke Holland is better.
Could've done without the vocals
Drew Trotter Yeah, not having Lukas Magyar with him (The vocalist for this song) I think it would have been more appropriate to either play the instrumental version of Fragments or play one of the instrumentals off the album like Omni. But Fragments i think was one of the most popular songs off the album, so I guess I see why he picked it.
terrible song, great drumming
6indy8 great song, great drumming
I kinda agree. Amazing drumming, the song isnt that great. But he nailed the drumming lol
lol just look at his channel, that's all it is
@luiz - Eat... my... shorts!!!
I fully disagree...
I had a haircut like that when I was 10.
Alex McNeil Good for you
Good drummER...F---ing atrocious music. Sounds like 3 songs playing at the same time. Unbearable.
As a musician you should accept that music is subjective...
titrationss Ya, and that implies that everyone has an opinion right? His as a musician is that this is shit. You don't think any member of this group every trashed another artist? Wishful thinking there bud. Never understand why someone would counter someone's negative opinion with it's "subjective" . Well, no shit it's subjective probably why they don't like it.
I think he's a great drummer - apart from doing drum covers of massive selling pop hits for easy views aside...I can't find anything to enjoy about this type of music. It sounds like all members of the band were told to show off all at the same time. I hear guitar but no riff. i hear vocals but no melody. I hear drums but no ostinato etc etc. It's just a mush with no hooks at all.
Kotow Boy So am I right to assume you enjoy repeated catchy rhythms as opposed to the constantly changing complex music exemplified here?
I don't hear a song here.
I hate metalcore... Sorry but I just don´t get it. It's just not my cup of tea.
Lucas Heseding i wouldn‘t classify this as an typical metalcore song. You should listen to through struggle by As i lay dying. For me it is the major example for metalcore.
Not metalcore at all
ThyArt as I lay dying was metalcore 10 years ago.
More like progressive death core lol
Dude, it's a drumming video. Wtf why r u even here? Just to commentate? xd
Snare sound is real shit, even worse than Lars (St. Anger) snare
Al Da must be deaf
sorry....... way to hard...terrible!
Andreas Breitwieser so if it’s hard it’s terrible? Don’t bash it just because you don’t have the skill to play it.
sorry, you ain't the one on stage. Who are you again?
