    Hi, thanks for the video. It's very well explained and I could back to basics and understand all the details more deeply
    As a suggestion, it would be great if you make a tutorial like that about scenes, managing objects through libraries and linking blender files. Most of the tutorials I found are related to isolated items and modeling and it's hard to find content explaining about dealing with many objects for short films or bigger projects.
    Thank you for sharing this knowledge!

    Blender is not made for game development period. One jey feauture Blender doesnt have, is to simply group several FBX files in which a new pivot is created, then center this pivot with clean transform for game export.

    Great breakdown ! however at 0:58 your comparison between collections and folders is a bit misleading : files cannot be contained in more than one folder, however any object in Blender can be contained in any number of collections (which is one of the selling points of collections for scene management and rendering).
    Good on you for explaining the difference between the eye and the monitor toggles, this is often misunderstood.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have one doubt, how to manage hundreds of objects with so many collections. Is there any options to purge unwanted collection, orphan data not deleting an empty collection.

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  2 роки тому +2

      If you click on the Display mode button on the outliner, you can change it to orphan data. (The Display mode Icon is on the top left of the outliner with a mountain and a sun). Then there is a Purge Button. You can click that button, and it will remove any unused data in the Blender file. Hope this helps.

    • @binualex1281
      @binualex1281 2 роки тому +1

      @@RyanKingArt I mean to remove empty Collection, that is not going with purge option

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  2 роки тому +2

      Oh ok. So basically your wanting Blender to automatically delete all of the collections that are not being used? Hmm, I don't know how to do that. You could post a question about that, on the Blender Stack Exchange, and hopefully someone can help you.

    Hey man can you help me im trying to get different objects to render with different sample amounts but yet still have them render as if the other object not in each image is still affected by its presence..i.e clouds that have something going through the top but i want that object thats going through it to have dimensional aspects/angles effected. rather than just rendering each thing separate and giving a flat appearance when combining the layers in the end (hope that makes sense)!!!!
    ***UPDATE*** It seems as if that masking icon on the right of the objects is close to what im trying to go for however in my instance its creating a hard/sharp edged mask as its masking the object but my object has a slight transparent fade gradient on the material so yea its not working quite the way i need it 2 so still looking for al alternate way to properly to what im trying to do in EEVEE.

    In Blender 4.0 collection are completely broken on large scenes, creating new collection don't show in outliner and adding selected object to new collection doesn't work either.

We are using lots of parented objects with instances. Then using the make instances real and deleting the original's. I just keep getting my collections so screwed up. This will help me some. thank you

    I wish the search field would work on things more than just name strings. I would expect if I just type "light" it would show me all the lights in the scene, even if they are not named "light" but sadly this doesn't work. Similarly, if I had a lot of monkey head primitives, but I named them something else than "monkey" it should still show them when I type "monkey" I think.

    Nice tuts! You're the guru. I have one question for properties window.
    Let's say I have two cubes and currently I am on 'material properties' tab on cube-1.
    Once I switch from cube 1 to 2, I see everything is synced, say, in Outliner window, Properties window.
    But in editor mode, all of a sudden, the sync is broken for Properties window. It just stays pointing to the previous cube.
    This happens on every other mode than 'object mode'.
    Do you know why and how can I change this behavior?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure what you mean by synced.

    • @JinnyjinnyJin
      @JinnyjinnyJin 2 роки тому

      @@RyanKingArt By sync I mean when I selected cube-a, then I expect the properties window also change to cube-a's. This works if I am using object mode smoothly. But, in edit mode, even if I click cube-b on outliner, the propertiez window stays on cube-a yet, because I am not in object mode.
