I knew Peter Allen when he was playing hotels and cruise ships throughout the Pacific, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. He was part of a group called the Allen Brothers and Adrien,( girl singer married to Chris Allen. Asia was full of these lounge acts dreaming of getting to the big time, New York or London. This was before Judy Garland saw him at the Hilton, maybe in Hong Kong and took him to London to marry her daughter. He was a closeted gay then but who was going to turn down Lisa Minelli. Thank goodness he came out and wrote the great songs he did. I e always felt that Rio was his personal anthem.

Thanks for the homage, but...with all due respect...Rio is not Havana neither Acapulco...Rio is Samba, Bossa Nova, Lambada, Pagode, Forro (that comes from "for all"), Gafieira, MPB, and that goes on and on...you guys from USA and we from Brazil are the Peoples on Earth who more produce music on Earth...start opening your mind and try to learn a little bir more about this 216 million people Country. The costumes, song, dance...nada a ver (they're nothing to do with the actual Brazilian culture...at all!)

They are amateur "singers" dancing. Not very well by professional standards, but I repeat they are amateurs and singers not dancers.
