Also the degree dial is easy to read so no second wheel needed. Also what is the pin diameter? JD is 7/8" for all but the center which is fatter.

It’s not high quality. I have this 209 bender and the arm has ALOT of play in it. I had to weld several plates to it so it didn’t slump. Also a company named Grizzly offers dies that work for this bender for a fraction of the cost of Woodward fab or any other die
Interesting, you have my attention. Is it the center pin insert bushing that is worn out? Everything else is 3/4” steel bolted together. I’m not picturing much that could be sloppy other than the bushing to have any play. I’m not using the mechanical arm though. That went to the scrap bin in day one. I went straight to the hydraulic ram. Thanks.
@@TrailTime. That’s exactly what it is. The bushings aren’t an exact fit around the pin nor inside the hole they go in so there is so much slop that the arm hangs at a pretty decent slope as it sways through the bend. I added some plates and drilled the holes to be more exact around the pin, plus added some spacers to the mechanical arm to make it more tight. It’s a lot more tight and level in action than it was. I’m going to be making a lot of compound bends so I need it to be tight.
@@RELAXnRENOVATE this is why I started the video talking about JD2. When a cheep knock off company is selling stuff quality control issues are always a problem. I may have gotten lucky with mine the clearance on the center pin are tight. @@TrailTime. I thought about the effect a hydraulic ram would have on the stability of the swing arm. That company offers a 1.5” 180 degree 4.5” radius for under $300.00. The other companies are around $500.00 for that specific die. Seems high quality so far. It’s worth checking out

Also the degree dial is easy to read so no second wheel needed. Also what is the pin diameter? JD is 7/8" for all but the center which is fatter.
The bender will work with 180* dies. Three pins are 7/8” and the center pin is 1”. The arms are 5/8”
Engine stand is brilliant...
So does this tube bender come with a die to bend 1 3/4
No. You have to buy the die you need separately. Their has been a few comments about affordable die options other than the Woodward fab die I got.
Hey buddy, i just bought the same bender, but im looking to get the JD2 dies. Im seeing mixed reviews on which dies to buy. Some say the model 3 dies fit, some say they dont, and its the same with the model 32 dies. Would you happen to know which ones are the same as the woodward fab dies?
@@mavsfabshop I don’t believe the jd2 dies will fit. The rule that has worked for me is if it works for the Woodward fab it will work with the Amazon bender.
Theirs been a few comments about som le off brand stuff that works but I think their lost somewhere in this comment section or deleted by the guys who posted.
I did a second video talking about using the bender, I also went over the exact dimensions of the bender and the die
@@TrailTime. gotcha. I was wondering because i had seen people saying different things
@@TrailTime. well, I guess it's time to grab a shovel and start digging lol
Where did you get the (yellow) degree wheel?????
www.jmrmfg.com/collections/tube-benders
I sandwiched it in between the bender and the original degree wheel.
Just got everything I need, built a stand etc etc. went to install hydraulic with the machined swag clamp and it doesn’t fit the ECOTRIC bender. F**K
What model clamp did you order? What part of the clamp isn’t fitting? I put all the measurements in this video ua-cam.com/video/zRFfZOhE4og/v-deo.htmlsi=1YMi6ne5aywjuS_A
Let me know if I can answer any questions
@@TrailTime. JD2 model 32 clamp. The thread in bungs diameter is too large for the top/bottom plates
Not sure my first reply went through. I got the JD2 model 32 clamp. The diameter of the thread in bungs is too large for the top/bottom plates of the bender.
The clamp I ordered was the WFB2 for the Woodward Fab bender. Did you weld the clamp up yet? The swag off-road guys are really good to deal with. I’m sure they can swap it out for you.
Thanks for sharing
Glad you found it helpful somehow.
Can you bend exhaust tubing with this?
@@armcchargues8623 not really. Most of the dies have a wall thickness range of 0.095”-0.250”. Thin wall tubes usually wrinkle.
Would it work on 18 gauge 1" stainless tubing?
@@hellapellanyc6465 18g is like 0.0478” wall thickness. Most of the dies manufacturers start their Recommended Wall Thickness Range at 0.058” and go up to .188-.250 or solid bar depending on the tube diameter.
@@TrailTime. Gotcha, so it could kink easy I think is what your pointing at. I am trying to make a bow railing.
These are all metric sizes but you all want to stick with inches

nice explanation
I don’t know how long it will last (especially bending.188 wall) the Jd2 says their model 32 is good for up to 2” .250 Wall DOM.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@TrailTime. I thought about the effect a hydraulic ram would have on the stability of the swing arm. It seems like having it mounted stationary is what gives a normally sloppy sway arm a little more rigidity.
That might be why you didn’t notice it since you discontinued the mechanical arm right away.
Anyways…check out the grizzly bender. It’s the same as this 209 bender but with inexpensive die sets. That company offers a 1.5” 180 degree 4.5” radius for under $300.00. The other companies are around $500.00 for that specific die. Seems high quality so far. It’s worth checking out
Do you have a link for the Grizzly dies?

I appreciate it. I really enjoy working on and having fun with Jeeps! Thanks for watching.

@@TrailTime. Do these jmr race line dies work with the cheap Amazon bender?
I think we must be past caring about US made. Remember, it's your neighbors that have businesses like JD2.
Trust me. I’m always the last guy to recommend a foreign anything. I was spending so much money on Jeep parts when I bought this bender I had to save some money somewhere.
I tried to start this video, giving Jd2 the credit they have earned.
Totally get it. Especially when eggs are like $10 a dozen!
The benders are mass produced plasma cut flat plate.......absolutely no reason that "American" is literally double the price for exactly the same pieces made with the exact same process.........

I’m making a video next week titled using the $209 Amazon Roll cage tube bender.
It will be the one to watch. This was a introduction to the bender. I’ll answer all the questions I get. Thanks for the feedback

Had one of these and wasn't very impressed. Lose tolerances and poor machining. Guess you get what you pay for 🤷♂️. Ended up selling it and buying the REV 2 complete bender from Swag Offroad. Couldn't be happier with it. I'll shell out a few more Biden bucks for a product made in the US.
Glad the Joe Biden economy is working for you💰. Some people need to save when they can.
@4Low_life I definitely get that man... someday money will be worth something again...

You can make better bends by hand.
