  • This video is part two. You can watch part one at: • Pulling A Tree Over Wi...
I had a Large Douglas Fir tree that was leaning the opposite way I wanted it to fall. It was leaning too much to use wedges so I used the tractor to pull it over.
The top of the tree was dead from bark beetles. The rest of the tree would likely soon die.
The tractor is a Massey Ferguson MF 30 with an MF 34 loader. It has log forks on the front and the farm he 501 logging winch on the back.
After the trees down I use the tractor to yard the logs end of the road. And load the logs onto the flatbed trailer with my tractor to be taken to my Woodmizer LT 15 sawmill. These will be cut into lumber and Timbers.

Thank you for the kind words Craig. Yeah that’s been a good tractor. It doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles the new ones have, it also doesn’t have those things to go wrong with it.

Very interesting video! Really like your method of pulling a leaning tree to go where you want it! Also admire your way of climbing the tree to hook the chocker! I never would’ve thought to use an axe handle. Great video!

Sometimes I just use what I have. The ax handle was a lot closer than going to get a ladder.

Another fun adventure. When you edit, could you adjust the volume down when the saw is running. I have the volume up to hear your comments then the saw rips thru my ears. Thanks.

This was one of my early videos. Have you seen any of the newer ones? I now turn the saw volume down by about 75% to about 25% of original. I appreciate the feedback.

I just came across your channel and started watching all the videos you have uploaded, since I am interested in logging and forestry management and how I can improve it in my forest lands. The videos you make are great, you provide information, different techniques, tips and tricks that I personelly find very usefull. Just a quick question about setting the snatch block, why don't you use a tree strap to protect the bark or maybe you used to use one but you found that it does not give good enough protection. Just asking for your opinion on tree straps, otherwise great video.

Once you limb up the tree, what do you do with all the limbs. Do you just throw them back into nature? Since I’ve never seen a chipper on your videos, I guess that all you do with them. Sounds good to me.

Big fan. Help me understand, 'more holding wood on the left'. Should it not be less on the left? Just asking.

Good video. What were the log lengths? That last one looked like 16'.

Close, the last one was 18 foot. Some were 16 so I could make two 8’ out of them. A couple were 18 so I can get a 10 foot and an 8 foot. One of them was 12.
