As a Baltimore native, Kendricks concert made me realize "The West Coast " Is Hip - Hop!!!! The West Coast since it's start in Hip-Hop never changed itself. Every other region has adopted a diluted version of West Coast gang culture.
Kendrick said "the industry can hate me, fu*k em all and their mama". That to me that reveals he is not backed by the industry and what he did was not part of the 'script'. Most of the industry guys from the jump did not back Kendrick. He was not suppose to win. 50, Gillie, Mase, Camron, Maino, Quest. I can't even think of someone who backed Kendrick. It was industry verses culture and when the culture won, they use the same faces/resources we're suppose to have trust in, to invalidate Kendricks win. Hiring black people to kill one of their own. It's sad to see that we're now not strong enough to callout the obvious sellouts. Kendrick is a glitch in the matrix going up against Mr. Anderson(Drake). Who as we can tell is very insulated by the industry. Kendrick dressing like 2Pac for the performance was very symbolic.
Hot 97 did stop nas summer jam jay set and hot 97 did stop nas and prodigy and the quuensbridge crew from coming down to freestyle on flex show if they both happened things would be different
at this point kendrick doesn't have to relaunch his career. He isn't boxed into one category.If he pops out with a whole new sound, no one is going to blink an eye. He does something different every album.
Drake fans are not hip hop fans! This is the easiest distinction to be made and they will never understand or accept objectively the guy lost clearly! Kenny moved perfectly , won the troll game , won the hit game and finished it off with a historic concert! K dot the official king of hip hop for this era!

Peace and love from Toronto. I'm an example of someone who can be a hip-hop fan AND a Drake fan. Drake had some of the best rap performances of his career but Kenny just eviscerated him from every angle. I'm in admiration of how he capped it off with that performance, and I wish Toronto and NY had the kind of unity that LA has. And a side note - y'all Americans have to stop brushing us off as Canadians like that's an insult lol 🤣 Great show as always, guys!
