I found realistic way more fun when I started playing, also check out the protection analysis of vehicles you play with/against every now and then.
Yea I play Realistic Only now.. it is a must if you like sneaky good content , using the Terrain around you to hide is really fun as well 😄
About the Protection analysis , Yea I realized that way to late I literally died with the 221 because of exposing my weak side armor a few times but realized the front has the thick armor later on.
Checking it now with each new vehicle 👍

Going from arcade to realistic is a crazy but fun experience
the Pz II C gets a lot better with the HVAP belts
just to clear things out you didn't pen the t-70 because you had the red crosshair it means that you can't pen him
Yea I was confused it seemed like no matter were I hit it does not pen which confused me but I just ditched that 20mm tank later and went to the next tier now One precise shot placed kills any tank which is dope :)

This game does not rely on health. You can be in a tank from 1938 vs a tank from today in this game find a penetration point and one shot. There is different kinds of kills. Ammunition explosion. Fuel explosion. Crew knocked out. Hull break. aircraft destructions: plane burnt down. Hull break. Pilot knocked out. Aircraft collision.

Welcome to war thunder! This video brought a big smile to my face seeing a new guy just confused about how the entire game works, and had not started on the really challenging grind. German tanks back then were enjoyable for me because you can throw down 20 mil down the range and have some really stupid reverse like on some of the panzer 3's. War thunder's toxicity will show the more you play the game, don't mind the players who are mad at you for having fun. Remember to avoid feeding the snail, angles and really heavy tanks!
I speak on the behalf of the war thunder community that just enjoys the game occasionally, we hope that you enjoy the game.

(Edit: if you're curious on how to penetrate tanks, click on the nation they belong to on the main menu, and then select the specific tank that you want to kill. Click preview, and then mouse over to the stats sheet on the top left. There should be a "Protection analysis" button just sitting neatly below all the of tank's statistics, allowing you to experiment with different machine guns and cannons on the specific tank's armour as well as to observe how it affects the said tank. This applies to every class of vehicle, but generally tank rb/ab/sb benefits from this unique feature the most. Happy hunting!)
The biggest problem with WT is the ultra steep learning curve..
Learning how and where to aim without "HP" might be very confusing from someone who's really used to wow game mechanics
My best advice ; watch A LOT of youtube "guides" before joining, if it's too much for you, dont join because if you dont put time and will into the game, you won't make it enjoyable
And i think that this high commitment level is the reason why people are toxic, because it's extremely time and nerve consuming !
(and yes, my game counter doesnt use hours anymore but "months")
Honestly it is already really enjoyable even with little to no experience , I can see how people get upset if they spend that much time on it but for me it's mostly just for fun and I like making content from it so it's a win win :)
Excited to make a few more videos of War Thunder and grind my way up the ladder.
@@OdinConnected 8Bit Dane makes some superb guides to particular country specific tank lineups and aircraft lineups. He also does general tips and tricks videos and they are all well worth viewing.

War Thunder is NOT a fun game.
BUT, it DOES have fun moments.

The 20 mm recently got nerf even it's best round could only pen 48 mm of steel
I must say, your edits are quite good. I do, however, have one lil' suggestion: please, go easy with the methamphetamine. 😋
They nerfed the german autocannons alot in wt since 2017.
all german autocannon used to have 64mm pen except coelian and above now it's 40mm's
They removed the 37mm HVAP belt used to have 64mm pen, now it's lesser than the 20mm.
The pz2 is uptiered.
They slowed the 20mm and 37mm fire rate.
Wirbelwind reload slower.
The 20mm HVAP does not do damage anymore as it Acts like a needle.
If you want a beast autocannon just go to russia now. They have ZSD and ZUT. The ZUT is incredibly OP early rank tank which gun can pen M4 sherman frontally

Main reason for toxicity is the fact that it takes an awfully long time to grind stuff.
i currently have over 1300 hours in the game and i am NOWHERE near the end.
Damm that's crazy 1.3k hours but Isn't that a good thing tho?
if it was over after let's say 1k hours there would not be much reason to keep going.
I like heavy grind games I played EVE Online for like 3k hours and ARK for another 1.5k Hours these games are just like that you are never done.
The Positive thing is I have plenty of content for many more videos then with War thunder :)
im quite new to the game and tbh at first it felt toxic and hard but its all about learning, ive been playing for a bit now and now that i know how the game works ive been enjoying the game alot more then before.
alot of the new players are war enthusiasts that hope to use alot of the cool vehicles but dont want a grind so yeah the game is hard but enjoyable and thats up to you
I am excited for the grind , and personally have not seen any toxic peeps at all but I think that comes in the higher tiers :))
The best games are the ones we have to play and master for hundreds of hours.
@@OdinConnected it starts to get kinda difficult maybe around rank three and higher but you can get used to it.

For me Air Matches are really fun and easy compared to Tank matches , there is no Armor or angling to be learned it's just about aiming and throwing your mouse against the wall to turn your plane in a circle for 2 minutes straight to win a 1v1s :)
@@OdinConnected i have Tank Destroyer title in ear thuner which requures u to get 10k ground kills and i am at tier 7 ground but planes are diffrent story. /:

@@blue-_-space2209 I personally don't like Air Grinding I am still at T1-T2 with Planes ,Tank gameplay overall is more engaging & fun overall to me even tho I am way worse at that :D
I want to get to the Nuclear bombers tho or the really Modern Aircrafts.. that could be really fun.
There are no nuclear mombers but when 5.7 and if u get full uptier (6.7) u can spawn in a Nuke Bomber for 2.5k points (:

Just to comment specifically on the video
The ship ramming and saying thank you (Cyprus) was the ship infront not the one ramming you from behind his thank you was probably because he took damage
and a teammate helped speed up his repair time.
If someone assists you with repairing there will be a prompt on your screen saying "press T to Thank your ally" or something along those lines
The two tanks ramming each other were likely trying to unflip eachother but didn't know how to use the tow hook those little light tanks can get
alot of speed so flipping them isn't hard if you bounce over a hill into a rock and would of likely happened to you if you were an inch more to the
right when you came over.
I've played prior to the game coming to Steam but by Steams count 4,630 hours ingame.
Primarily a British tank player (every British tank and most of their airline completed) but i have most of my tree's over 7.0br
The most toxic thing about the game is the communities hatred against the game and/or the developers Gaijin.
This is not to say Gaijin or the game are perfect there is no perfect game and there is no perfect company...
Monetization is excessive and can at times be irritating and there are far to many layers to it now.
battlepass, premium accounts, premium vehicles, event vehicles and more.
there are ways to get most of the paid items without real money but they are in no way reasonable such as golden wagers
The only time anyone in their right mind should even consider spending real money is during the big sales such as buying premium
for half a year at half the price isn't that bad if you're going to sink 500 hours into it and you are not putting yourself out of pocket.
The overall grind isn't that bad if you perform well...
Starting as Germany as many of us have is probably one of the hardest and least enjoyable for new players,
their low tier tanks have no armour, their guns are average and they are average for mobility aswell their planes aren't much better
Tho once you have some experience you can easily wipe the enemy team with those vehicles.
6.0br most people i know tend to enjoy Germany far more
i spent a couple weeks convincing my mate recently to try the other nations as i got tired of him raging over it
finally he started playing Russa, USA and China and then he started learning these tanks have faults of their own but they all play so different so he
not only enjoyed Germany far more he also decided he far more enjoyed the way Russia played and that became his main.
Also the 20mm plays best if you are getting onto the flanks of enemies you can tear most things apart from the side with ease
flanking is something near impossible in arcade warthunder due the the names always showing.
you can aim for weak points of most tanks but some you can't penetrate from the front at all.

What Nation would you recommend starting out?

I would recommend try them all a little to find what you click with the most but to keep in mind how they may change their playstyles later on. All of these nations can be used to great affect when you know how to use them.
USA/Russia have fairly friendly early tiers with good mobility, decent guns and armour, Russia gets early access to APHE roughly ammo that explodes after penetration damaging/destroying a larger area inside the tank, China uses a mix of both USA/RUS vehicles and has far less in it's tree so you reach the later tiers easier.
Sweeden has great guns and early access to APDS ammo roughly has very high penetration for the tier allowing you to pick apart enemies with ease.
Britain/France/Italy have some of best mobility at low tiers however Italy lacks firepower and armour.
Japan generally are slow they have average guns and their armour is laughable their gimmick is they have some early amphibious vehicles but that's not something important to 99% of matches.

Welp arcade battle is a fucking havocand also maybe try ground realistic instead of arcade for less similarities from world of tank cause you wont feel how the game really is

Yea will try realistic soon after I get the hang of the game , just recently stumbled upon War thunder but my first impression is pretty good going to dunk a few hundred hours into it for sure :)
