At this point I don't know if the crosshair's lying, my gun is horribly inaccurate or the damage model is extremely inconsistent. I would normally add me being bad but I am just clicking when thing go green. Even a lab rat could do that.
It doesn't really lie. It's just extremely inaccurate, especially on longer ranges + ping

just rely on your RB skill, don't rely on the crosshair.

I use to play arcade but then transitioned to realistic and the only thing I miss is the ridiculous speed that arcade has

The plane spawning position is a huge problem because the enemy always spawns just 1km behind you.

or when the bomber button finally shows up, you press 9 and you are the one that should spawn, but then someone else presses 9 two seconds later and it's now theirs for some reason. I fucking hate that. I have never flown any "9" plane in ground arcade.
@@fishingninja I agree that the system is bad. However, there are three little tips that might increase your chances in getting into a “9” bomber - or at least they help me a lot:
-) Spam the hell out of the 9 button until you see who has got the aircraft. However, pay attention to not press the button too early or you might get locked out (cooldown).
-) Watch closely when the last aircraft dies - unless the timer runs out this is when the next bomber becomes available. Therefore you can react earlier than most.
-) Use a light tank that has researched air strike (or whatever it’s called in English). This way you can join a friendly bomber with your own bomber and become even more devastating to the enemy!

Tiger players not being able to hit any of the Jumbo's weakspots despite having a penetration indicator is probably the most Tiger player thing ever.
to be fair, that indicator is incorrect ~60% of the time

I always feel like the entire map is looking at me, specifically. It's so unnerving.
I unironically feel more safe in realistic than in arcade. Because if I can't see the enemy team without searching for them, they surely can't see me either (and it's usually true)

Pretty sure he had APCR loaded which can pen the Tiger 1 front with like 124 pen where as M61 (APHE) is only 104 at 10m (which can pen front as well) since tiger only has 100mm front. Also APCR pens optics and MGs easier than APHE

a guide to arcade:
1. in arcade most stats are boosted, stuff like module HP and speed is a tad bit higher, for speed especially it also fucks with your tank model so ricochets are common on moving targets at high speed
2. the penetration indicator lies A LOT, it's better to use it as a hit indicator most of the time and rely on your knowledge of penetration stats, and armor weak spots
3. the penetration indicator also works as a ballistic calculator thing that predict where it will hit (it assume 0% dispersion but adapts to the bullet drop) and it also have a minor aim assist where it wiil indicate to the nearest solid target in front of your shell path, so try to still adjust range on your own and machinegun any breakable surface you are probably gonna shoot through
4. spotting range is based on your crew skills and the tank concealment stats, so with low stats on both a tank could just not be pinged on your map nor screen while it sneaks up behind you till you spin around your camera view or your hull, so abuse the "c" free look to make sure you spot everyone near you
5. all vehicles can spot an enemy and ping their exact location in the map, just lock on target using the default target selection then use the radio command of 1+7 that is "attack this enemy" with it it will put an X on the map of where you the tank is for everyone for a few seconds
6. Artillery strike request stacks and you get them after a few minutes and after killing and assisting a kill, and it's stack to 3 i think? but it also stays even after death (IE if you play a heavy tank and die your next tank that's capable of calling Artillery probably has a bunch of it stacked)
7. CAS sucks in arcade and barely anyone use it effectively/seriously since not only it makes your tank AFK but the bombs are long fused and the explosion are weaker, it's better to choose attacker most of the time than bomber when the match still balanced but if you are winning a bomber is nice
8. while doing CAS you can know the type of your bomb or the fuse type by seeing how much bomb there is and what type of plane you got, a light dive bomber have medium bombs with a shorter fuse, a medium-heavy bomber have light-big bomb based on the ammount (1-3 is probably a big bomb with long fuse, 3-6 is probably medium bombs with long to medium fuse, and anything more than 6 means it's a small bomb with medium fuse) and lastly US naval bomber specifically have medium size bombs with really short fuse
9. when using solid AP type of shell on tanks it's better to ammo rack the enemy because all vehicle with crew replenishment (could be used anywhere) will survive on one crew so you need to either kill everyone, wait till they already use crew replenish and shoot again, or ammo rack it for a "guranteed" kill
10. derp guns and medium tanks are the meta for arcade because derp guns are basically snipers that could kill anyone relatively safely from long range and mediums are the preferred tanks to brawl because it has decent armor to survive based on skill and RNG (unlike light tanks) a gun with good reload and decent penetration stat, and speed that equals in light tanks in max speed but not acceleration
Heavy tanks are also great in arcade

tbe indicator doesnt lie most people just dont know how it works. it indicates when your shot will pen ANYTHING at all. so, if ur shot is gonna explode and hit the driver's hatch for just a tiny bit of damage to the hatch, itll show green.

It actually does more harm for me. I collect my daily booster at the ground arcade and that indicator messed me up sometimes. It doesn’t always show when I look too far when the target is far away.
I swear AB is harder than RB because you put most of your eggs in the game's basket of broken mechanics, which don't work half the time.

Depends if it’s ground AB or air AB, the bullet lead indicator in air AB makes a huge difference let alone the performance of the aircraft.

I play arcade and i find it more nervous than realistic. And most of the time i don't play with headphones so that's a pretty big disadvantage in RB where you must listen to engine noises if you want to live more than 2 mn. Kills in RB are really satisfying though !

fun fact: you can still control the arcade battles plane for a few seconds after the time has expired. You have control over the plane still untill you get your camera teleported back to your vechicle, wich means if you lined up a shot and the time expired you can still kill the plane with a lucky burst.

The one thing I really hate about arcade is that the bombs take 10 seconds to explode which is insane
There so inconsistent with fuses when I play arcade the fuses are either super long or detonate on contact and kill you immediately
@@Gannet-S.4 That's because every bomb in arcade is put into Assaut Fuse mode : the bombs has a 10s fuse but it activate when dropped instead of hitting the ground.
Insanely blessed, you mean. CAS is cancer. 10s gives actual counterplay and makes it mildly competent game design in AB, instead of just dying randomly and being able to do nothing about it (in 80% of vehicles) in RB which is braindead "game design"

Also every single two player or two team PVP game in the world is exactly as difficult to win by definition. The average win rate in GRB is 50%, the average win rate in ARB is 50%, the average win rate in chess is 50%, the average win rate in arm wrestling is 50%. So no, neither is more difficult. Your human opponents have the same buffs and nerfs as you so it all simply cancels out.
You also JUST watched a video where a GRB player did not do very well at all in ARB, which directly contradicts your statement in the very video you're commenting on.
Ironically, although I had zero reasons to think you were braindead before this comment, and RB players in general are just fine (simply have different tastes), now I have 3 reasons.

RB is torture for me. And before you guys say it is a "sKiLl IsSuE", I just want to say that AB causes less stress for me since I can actually see the enemies in front of me. And I still get tons of SL and RP. Probably because I have the Tiger II Sla.16, Ferdinand, and Jagdtiger.

If you start with ab, its going to be that way. You would have to play llw tier rb all over again to adapt. Also I think its more stressful knowing that everyone can see you.
I have to agree. Most of my RB experience was being sniped from the other side of the map by some premium german SPG full of bushes or getting killed by a plane on spawn. Not to mention how boring RB is because of how slow your tank is. Most of the time I'm just staring at nothing while holding W for 5 minutes until I get to actual combat, and then spend the next 15 minutes looking for some metal box to shoot using your binos because otherwise I literally can't see shit, and that is if I don't get nuked by a plane on my way to the frontline. It's also hell if you're using a light tank since any idiot with a plane can just machinegun you to death with minimal effort as soon as you spawn in.
Low tier Shermans with the short 75 are so op in arcade. One time after playing a few rb games, I went into arcade and got 21 kills with the M4A2
The M4A3 105 is the IS-2 of rank 2... plus it can't be penned frontally by everything it sees besides machinegun port
@@Spido68_the_spectator my only problem with the 105 Sherman is the gun, I hate using it and it usually takes two or three shots to kill something with the heat. It’s annoying to fight against and annoying to play.

yeah i was grinding low tier france and the m4 105 is a god send, i legit held a whole flank all on my own, got around 11 kills and only died when they started overflowing my position and getting behind me (that reload and turret traverse are mean)@@Spido68_the_spectator

There is a lot of premium players that have one vehicle or people that simply leave after a death. That is how most of my games are lost. 😭
@@Kush-iiIt's the same in RB, 1 death leave guys, it's amazing when in the first 5-6 minutes half of your team is gone
For arcade, it's good to have quick reactions, to quickly turn the turret or hull to angle to bounce the shells, to learn to quick shoot the enemy weakspots and to always stay on the move to make it difficult for the enemy to hit you. The crosshair is a joke, it only helps you to elevate to the target's range. On maps with tight chokepoints, grab a bomber and just spam bombs on the chokepoint and see yourself get 7 easy kills. Even with pen indicator, bushes are still effective when using a quick strike and hide tactic, because it doesn't allow the enemy to see the weakspots quite as fast, giving you time to escape.
Being an AA vehicle in AB is A LOT EASIER than RB due to the help of lead indicator.
I can rack up to 8 planes at some battles.
That 5 min timer for arcade top tier is such a mood.
i have over 2500 hours in war thunder and i have played only AB...i absolutely love it just for the fact that i dont have to worry about CAS and other OP planes and such

As a arcade enjoyer, I some times cry in the corner and wonder what the hell im doing with my life...
I suck at realistic, so I play arcade. Ive been doing well, playing wt for a couple years now. All based in Arcade.
Realistic requires more bits of knowledge. Knowing the map, hearing, corner peeking before crossing, bino check every sniping/bush spot, round trajectory, enemy vehicle weaknesses, and such. If you play like a rat(sneaky), you can rack up a lot of kills. Getting a good flank feels so rewarding too.

AB is good for grinding. RB is good for playing with friends.
A couple things about air spawns.
1. Bombers (the third plane) and other planes with closed doors take a second to drop the payload because the doors have to open meaning you want to release a bit early. Also assume all bomb timers are 50 years. They can be incredibly effective especially against heavier targets but if they move you’re just getting hits
2. This means attackers (the second plane) might be better because the rockets are impact fuse although heavier targets might live so it would be better to go for open tops. (You can see if there is any by opening the leaderboard cause it shows all vehicles) sidenote from what I’ve seen the attackers at br 1-2 ish mostly have bombs. Although one of them has rockets and is busted.
3. The plane and armament you get are random although each plane has a set armament (ex. a fw 190 will always have the same rockets from what I can tell). Once you play enough at a br you will get a feel for if a plane is good or not. Sometimes you get tiny tims other times you get pencil rockets that couldn’t pen a baby.
4. Not sure for high tier but in lower ties planes usually beat spaa cause planes can suicide with explosives while spaa are usually open top and an actual vehicle meaning it’s worse to lose.
5. For helies it’s best to go for the third option cause those are agms and are busted especially at the lowest tier you can get them cause the spaa suck there.
Bonus tip! If you get 15 points in the bomber category you can select it and drop a nuke!
You can keybind open bomb bays to manually open your bay doors early. It works in AB.

I find arcade to just be superior for grinding. Matches are much faster which leads to quicker xp and lion gain. I can do an arcade match and end up with about 2k xp without premium, or I could do a realistic match that takes around 3 times as long and end up with 3-4k xp.
But you earn, like, half as much for a kill. Or anything

@@ZombieRush22579 Not really the case. Yes each kill gives you more in realistic, but slower movement leads to slower killing, capping, you name it. Unless you're someone who earns enough kills to get nukes (which I'm not), then it's pretty similar levels of XP gain.

In arcade I have to say (as an italy main) that specifically 9.0 is THE MOST FUN BR I have experienced. Simply Superb lineup right there with the OF40 MK2, the VCC80/60, the VBC PT2 (surprisingly good), the SIDAM, and I can also say both the M113A1 (TOW), and the M109G are still very usable at this BR.

besides constant microstutters, no arty warning, all arty shells hit the exact same spot (a rare gug, but still), getting stuck on nothing (like when you move over a gun of an exploded tank) and the aiming cross jumping all around, battlepath missions randomly not accounting?

As someone who recently switched from AB to RB, (I have been playing AB up until 6.0) I know your pain.
holy shit how did you even play at 4.0 (I'm a soviet main) and i still have no clue how you play arcade without getting obliterated by light tanks that can see your weakspots
@@EastGermany-pc2lw I think is because I play in SA servers, so less sweaty players. Most of the time I would play very passively too.
I am an AB player because I have played WoT for a long time and am more accustomed to that kind of gameplay. Discover the enemy's deployment and find more effective positions on the map to attack and counterattack. Of course I also play RB, but I often die completely blind.The AB mode does feel like I am being targeted by people all over the world, but for me, staring at the monitor and looking for people in the RB mode makes me more tired.😂
I only ever play arcade and lemme tell you, you somehow get used to the insanity of it but only if you play heavy armor country like soviet
One thing I love about arcade is that it trains my muscle memory to aim for weakspots even at top tier.
Also during the summer event I play arcade with the kachi and it's so damn overpowered for getting points because I face total beginners
As a (current but soon to switch) arcade player, its good to use for Tier one and possibly two when you're first starting. Past that is just ridiculous.

I do enjoy the AB's 3 respawn only, easier to keep track of the game itself since anyone at 3 is definitely out and not 8 deaths later & still have another respawn

I usually play realistic, but when I want fun, meat and madness, I switch to the arcade without any problems
I originally came from world of tanks. AB is a nice step inbetween WOT and WT RB. I’ve tried RB a few times but am totally oblivious to unmarked targets. So I usually die quickly and can only get consistent good games in the 2c bis which pretty much can’t be killed in one shot. So I really have to learn RB first. But until then, this is my hell (still better, less frustrating and less toxic than WOT (though I really like a lot of the prototype tanks that WT misses like the O-I))
yeah arade is pure chaos and i love it thats why i play it.
After playing arcade and only arcade for 6 years I am confident enough to say that scoring 4 to 5 kills in realists is very easy the only difference is the presence of CAS and heli spawn camping abuse mechanic.
I transitioned from arcade to rb between grinding out panzer 4s and never looked back. Had to tho to play with a friend (they only play Arcade), half the time I was shooting at planes in my Tiger 1

I feel like a mode with the crosshair but no auto spotting would be the perfect fun/sim balance between the two modes
And preferably with the realistic plane spawn system. People kamikazeing into you because that's the only way they manage to kill you is the opposite of fun, especially since there is no cost to inting the planes since you just get them for existing and they're gonna run out of the timer in a few seconds anyways. And even if you do kill a plane you get nothing for it lmao.

The amount of salt I sometimes let loose in arcade is shameful, but always well deserved. Soooo much B.S. happens in AB. The crosshair lies to you. You will get a constant stream of enemy players that will sit and camp out; either waiting to snipe you or waiting for air battles to start. IS series tanks are practically unkillable and will rack up 7 + kills against your team by default. Which of course makes them popular. New players vs Really old players happens all of the time. Then you get to the fun maps like Iberian castle and The carpathians which make all of the above worse due to the fact that all of the heavies will somehow get to the capture points before you do. Which makes it entirely possible and probable that your entire team will get squadwiped in seconds. They will then raid your spawn points with CAS and surplus bullying. Of course, none of this would be possible without the cherry on top: Skill issues all around. I'm just glad someone at the top finally understands the hell that is ground AB. Welcome to the club Malzi, there is no trophy.

When I accidentally play an AB the green crosshair actually puts me off and if it wasn’t there I’d kill way more

I want an arcade and realistic ground WITH NO AIRCRAFT so bad it’s the one thing I’d actually pay for.
When I first played war thunder I hated arcade so much I went straight to RB even before I got to rank 2
I swear arcade is good for boosting crew xp
Me who has over 100hrs play time and is still scared to play realistic
Be me with 1400 hours and still play 90% arcade

Seriously arcade battles are such of chaotic hell, harder than realistic. But gotta grind that Crew xp somehow...
i think 100 of my 400 hours in war thunder were purely Arcade ground battles, but now that i Play RB i dont think i could ever go back to Arcade, it just doesnt feel right anymore
