  • A new study uncovered a heart health risk specifically for Hispanic women who have high blood pressure during pregnancy.
Decades after blood pressure-related pregnancy complications, Hispanic women can have a change of heart structure and function.
According to Aventura Cardiologist Leonard Pianko, MD, population studies show that certain groups have a higher susceptibility to certain illnesses than others.
Dr. Pianko stressed the importance of long-term follow-up for all women who have pregnancy-related hypertension.
