I remember watching this scene as a young boy with my parents and now as a 32 year old, I can see the beauty behind their marriage.
Peter and Doris were celebrated actors prior to this sitcom, when you see them in scenes like these you can understand why. 👏
Often wonder if they were husband and wife in a past life!! LOL!!
Marie's acting is beyond belief. The best that's ever been.

Doris WAS Marie. Her perfect part..and she knew just how to deliver the lines.
Might be the only time when Marie was completely in the right and told the absolute truth. Frank really was a jerk for refusing to say something nice about Marie after she tried to make him feel better.
Especially since his problem was how proud he was to be man of year all to tell Robert and Ray what a terrible job they did on his tribute when nobody had one nice thing to say about him.
This was such a sweet moment it actually drove me to tears

The only episode where frank and Marie become venerable with each other after lots of insults towards each other.
I know what Frank would say in a tribute to her: you bug people's lives too much and are ungrateful lol
This is perhaps the best ELR scene along with the Not so Fast episode and the Skit.

I know awesome names come up aa regards to great dads like uncle phil and carl Winslow but to me frank barone is up there and also a more realistic one. He doesn't show his emotions often but he loves his wife and family. He even broke the cycle of physical abuse as he was hit and etc. Hes a wise crack but when it truly mattered the most he was there and provided love and support

Yes the scene between him and Raymond where Ray says "You never really did that" meaning hitting him and Robert was brilliant and very touching.
