Happened to me about 2 years back..turns out it was the gasket on the intake manifold that had a crack and it doesn't just idles high but it revs on its own as if like someone is revving the engine..changed the gasket and all is fixed! Great video btw bro!
Did it stay revving when you were driving and let go of the gas? I'm having this issue now. Idles fine but with tps plugged in revs high after I let go of the gas, unplug tps and works how it should.
Mine just goes up and down cleaned out the fitv but happened again couple days later, think it could be the gasket?
Change gaskets
I hope you reply or see this; was this on a base model or type s, if so where did you get the gasket? i’m on a base
I have no vacuum leaks. I think my tps took a shit.😢
Hey bro is this a stock motor ? Or is a build head ?
What coupler did u use? Drop a link if possible. Had this same issue
Ay bro i have a 2002 Chevy silverado and installed a BBK throttle body and I’m having the same issue on that new one do you think it may be having a vacuum leak
When u put the skunk two throttle body back on did you use a new gasket
Mine idles at 2k rpms. I replaced the iacv and the tps cleaned my TB and still idling at 2k.. ya think it's a vacumme leak or my TB gasket???? I ordered a new map sensor and a intake manifold gasket because forums keep pointing in that direction as well as vacumme leak but not truely sure what's going on. At this point all this money my civic has made me spend on it I wanna set this car on fire while the mechanic is inside of it since he charged me over a grand not to fix my idle problem
having same issue, i also replaced rotar arm, dis cap, iridium spark plugs, ht leads, gon try gaskets when i get time
i have the same problem bro.. its rly a bummer. did you every find the cause?? thank you brotha
Just installed the manifold in now i have bugging and hesitation when accelerating. Idk where to look at anymore
My problem is after driving and I push the clutch in, the rpms drop and they drop too low and sometimes my car cuts off.. what could that possibly be?
I'm having the same issue. Any info what causes this
Probably throttle cable
Tighten your throttle cable but then now I have high idle lol but car don’t die no more 😂
What iavc did u put since the d series iacv isnt compatable with the im
I'm having idle issues after intake swap, like it revs to 5k but after watching the video of you doing a intake swap I think I'm gna look around vacume lines
2.5" to 3" coupler should work, I have the same set up.
I have a skunk 2 intake manifold and an itr tb and my idle sometimes is normal sometimes it jumps to 2k and stays there until I tap the gas I am going insane and i was coming to the conclusion a stock tb may cause some bs as described
Please tell me you fixed the issue
I have the some fucking problem but I found the problem no I am ordering new trotte body
Install the tps return spring from your stock throttle body into the skunk2 throttle body.
Tried that.. took my skunk 2 throttle Body off after installing it and tried to do exactly what your saying BUUUUUTTTTT when after taking the throttle position sensor off I seem to have an issue getting the main rod out after taking the center out. It doesn’t wanna come out so I can out the stock spring THAT COMES WITH AN OEM THROTTLE BODY IN 🙄🙄🙄 maybe I didn’t do something right or I just got one that’s tough to get out but I don’t wanna do any damage to the throttle body I spent like 130 bucks for so if someone couple point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it because at this point I’m starting to get used to tapping the gas when coming to a stop lol
@@danielgatto5500 yeah its a pain in the butt to get the spring off. I forced it off
@@2021487 you got ur skunk2 main rod that goes through the throttle body out?
@@danielgatto5500 no i went around that piece
@@2021487 so wait how many springs are you using ?
Had the same problem and had to buy some felt paper and cut and make a new gasket
Exactly. I had some gasket material I'd forgotten about. Cut a new gasket & mine runs like a scalded cat!
hey man .. i installed my 70mm throttle body but it revs super high untill 5k and drops to 2.5k operating temperature..any help?
U tuned ? And have y tried adjusting the idle screw
I installed a 62mm throttle body on my 07 Shelby gt and it works fine till the car warms up then it shoots the rpm to 2-3k rpm when idling sometimes or if I’m driving then it’ll stay at 2k rpm and drive itself basically , or if I come to a stop check engine pops up and car has no throttle response and sometimes dies on me
My manifold the iacv didnt fit in the back its a skunk 2 on a ek hatch with a h22a
Is the tb gasket on the 70mm the same as oe
all this work instead of buying a $12 coupler
I'm having this issue right now.. skunk2 pro manifold and 76mm throttle body...
It wasn't doing at idle before but mildly @1500 to 1700. I thought it was the iac valve. So I changed it and it got really bad now it surges between 1700 and 2000...I'll have to check the intake gasket like one person said in the comments
It's a d16y8
What if the engine doesn’t rev over 3000-3500k rpm
Your car is In limp mode
Give me a link to that 70mm throttle body
I'm using the wrong gasket and I have a vacuum leak...duh! At least you didn't do what I did and put the gasket on upside down.
I need help guys if anyone knows please @ me okay so I have a 96 civic ex 5speed manual and my 64mm throttle body needed to be replaced only because when I attempted to punch out the pins that held my TPS the bottom end broke off the throttle body itself. So I bought a new and it’s actually a 70mm instead of the 64mm like I had stock so I went ahead and just got a new intake manifold well I got everything on and it looks great it all pieced together nicely but when I started my car it instantly went to 6k+ rpm’s so obviously in a rush I turned the car back off and I checked out the new TPS on the new Throttle body making sure it was in its groove correctly and it is but I went threw diagrams of vacuum lines their all the way they should be just missing one from my evap never had it since I’ve owned the car
Also seen a vid of someone with the same intake I have now and on the side by cylinder 4 on intake there are these 3 holes for my guess some kind of aftermarket valve/sensor i don’t know but the dude in a video just mentioned blocking up them holes with right size bolts etc said it can be a huge vacuum leak also
Would and can say an incorrect gasket such as the difference between automatic and manual cause this problem? Please @me
The reason for the idle not returning is because that throttle body was all gummed up around throttle plate as I saw in the video
Wow guess he didn't know you can flux core wield stainless exhaust pipe
I was chasing my tail for ever and realized the tb gasket was upside down 💀
Think imma ha e to upgrade my throttle body. My car isles at about 1100 then it goes up and down to 1500 and you can hear it going up and down. Even see my boost gauge moving as well so it might be a vacuum issue. Nonetheless it’s annoyingly as f&$k.
That's a vacuum leak
Lexus shirt? Blasphemy!
