- Never buy packet cake mixes again, this incredible cake is so simple and virtually fail proof. Plus it tastes delicious. Prepared in 10 minutes, cooked in 20-30. No measuring tools required, just use the yogurt tub. This yogurt cake is the best quick and simple cake recipe you will ever find. It's moist and light and fluffy. Enjoy it warm with a coffee or tea.

I would half the sugar, oil, and eggs. You dont need that much of each for a 1 cup flour cake.

Ingredients
1 small pot of plain Greek yogurt 160g - 5.5oz - (or just under 1 cup) Wash container and use for measurements.
3 whole eggs
2 pots of white sugar
2 pots of sifted all purpose (plain) flour
1 pot of neutral vegetable oil
2 tsp baking powder
Powdered (icing) sugar to sprinkle ontop
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 lemon (zest only)
Salt, pinch
Steps
Step 1
Add the contents of one pot of yogurt to a mixing bowl.
Step 2
Add the three whole eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest and mix well using a whisk.
Step 3
Add the flour, baking powder, pinch of salt and the vegetable oil. Mix well.
Step 4
In a cake tin of your choice, rectangular or round, grease it with oil and dust with flour. Tip out any excess flour.
Step 5
Pour in the cake batter and place in a preheated oven at 350°F - 180°C for 20-45 minutes. The cake will rise and crack on top, that’s normal. Prick the cake in the centre using a skewer to be sure it’s cooked as different cake pans yield very different times.
Step 6
Dust with powdered sugar using a fine strainer and serve warm for best results.

I made this cake 🍰 this past weekend for my dearest friend and I. It was so delicious!, it brought back memories of my Mom in Mexico when she used to make me homemade cakes for my birthday. ❤️ thank you so much! It was super easy!, also I used regular plain yogurt because I didn’t have Greek yogurt and it was just as delicious.

For the past year I have been making this cake. I used lemon, lime and orange zest depending on my mood or what I have at hand. It comes out excellent every time. My friends and co workers love it!

Just made this using a loaf pan and I overbaked it to ensure it is cooked through lol. But still tastes good! This is the second recipe that I actually made from this channel, highly recommended!

Had some plain yogurt expiring soon so I used it with your recipe. I followed your recipe but using half of the sugar and oil. The sweetness came out perfect for me but still bit oily. Definitely a easy to follow recipe and best of all, minimal cleaning. Thank you

I made this cake a few days ago, very spongy, very simple and lovely taste, I used 1 and a 1/2 tubs of sugar, which was more than enough as far as sweetness is concerned, but it's all down to personal taste.
