just made this, turned out so well!! just a few tips for new bakers trying this (or just tips for everyone in general) : 1. mix well the yogurt, flour and cornstarch together first, then only add the egg yolks. this prevents over-mixing of egg yolks which will cause air bubbles to form, hence cracking the cake. 2. beat the egg whites until foamy, then only add the lemon juice. 3. when mixing the egg white mixture w the yogurt mixture, make sure not to over mix also. 4. during baking, NEVER open the oven door. this will cause a temperature drop, making ur cake to sink and be flat. 5. Make sure to leave the cake in the oven (with the door crack open a bit) to cool for 10-15mins. Same like no.4, this ensures there isnt a big temperature drop. 6. Let it cool to room temp before chilling it in the fridge. Good luck guys😉❤️

I made this recipe today! I carefully followed all the instructions but the top cracked while it was rising in the oven. I let it cool for a while and sliced it. The texture was really fluffy and moist but it honestly tasted like a fluffy sweet omelette. But then I refrigerated it. I took another slice after letting it cool for a few hours and it tasted so much better. If I make it again I’ll make sure to use full fat yoghurt and will add vanilla extract

Thank you! 1st attempt: Kinda fail... 1) 30-30 min. not enough maybe you should try 45 - 45 min if you have classic cake mold. 2) I used homemade yogurt , it made its taste little bit sour , i like it. its taste looks like cheesecake taste but little bit cakei. 3) I didn't use baking powder but maybe i should have used :/ 4) Also i used orange juice instead of lemon juice because of taste home made yogurt already really sour. ...Maybe i should go for 2nd attempt :/

This was a great success! A wonderfully healthy cake considering that is has little sugar, no butter and still tastes so rich. And very easy to make even for an absolute beginner like me. Thank you! It didn’t rise as muchas the one in the video but still the texture and taste is perfect. Very smooth. Will try a higher temperature for a short time to begin with, to see if I get even more rise that way in my small oven. But I’ll rather have a less tall cake than a dry one.

Thanks for sharing, today I tried to make the is cake baking for an hour plus, I think the cake still not cooked, bcoz I put the skewer to test, it came out not clean. My yogurt is sugarless Greek yogurt. What yogurt brand you used ?
@@hl7508 tbh I don't ever trust baking channels other than @home cooking adventure and @mommy oven also has good recipes. Now back to the point, I think it was the meringue where it all went wrong, I think the baker couldn't convey the point because English isn't their first language. They did say the meringue shouldn't be hard which I think means stiff peaks. I ended up making this mistake, I reached stiff peaks though the recipe called for softer peaks but not too much, just before reaching stiff peaks. I also think that instead of using lemon juice, cream of tartar ends up in a much more stable meringue(though I'm not sure for this recipe). The last point would be the folding of the mixture, it ended up deflated the meringue, I saw in another recipe that when folding the meringue, you should be gentle and but also fast. I hope this helps, I'm trying another recipe today just a different variation. I'll tell you if it works.

@@hl7508 I also think that you should stop when you reach soft peaks. If you're using homemade yogurt then don't only just use the curd, it would be a little too think mix in just a little bit of whey, though not too much in ratio of 3:1, yogurt constituting the major part.

@@dasrussenhaus531 Делал два раза. Сначала поднимается, все вроде здорово. Но потом опадает прямо в духовке еще во время приготовления.
Думаю не надо понижать температуру до 140°
